Nothing. Enjoyed my short stay there.
One of the ladies at reception was very lovely and helpful at check in. As was the lady when I checked out. It makes a big difference when staff are genuinely pleasant, happy and helpful.
First contact by telephone with reception was very friendly and helpful
Soft. Clean quality towels in bathroom . Room was conservative in style . Locatioon near the airport kettle and amenities.
ROOM was damp and chilly...Net curtains needed washing and cool ironing. Window frames need attention. Water in wash basin trickled away very slowly. The smell of Dampness was overpowering...I could not sleep well ....sheets felt cold and damp. Recommend you check the A/C unit. Rip the carpet up and let the floor breath. Turn the room into a special non allergy free room . You dont need musty carpets. change the flooring and and add appropriate scatter rugs.
Plenty of easy parking and set in beautiful grounds. The excellent breakfast was freshly cooked to order in the restaurant and there were plenty of items to choose from the buffet. We arrived a bit early so went to the Mouldy Fig and had the coffee and cake offer, which was also excellent. Very interesting to see all the photographs around the walls of famous people who had visited or played there. Our room on the ground floor was very spacious and even had a safe inside the wardrobe. We were going to a concert in Southampton and the bus stop was right outside the hotel so that made the half an hour journey very easy.
The only thing to make the room better would be to have a USB socket by the bed to enable you to charge your phone. That was the only negative thing of our stay. Fortunately we bought a charger with us.

Property is in a nice setting.
Breakfast was good.
The bedroom was “tired” but the main reason for the low score was that there was no shower, just a bath which I couldn’t get in or out of. At the very least we’d have expected a shower over the bath. We asked for a different room but were very disappointed when we were told there was no alternative.
The hotel, staff & location was really good but unfortunately because we were there during the heat wave last week the room was unbearable as the air conditioning wasn’t working and we couldn’t open the window as the midge’s would eat you alive. We did ask for a fan but they had none left. The breakfast was good & hot . The hotel and grounds were good. I would definitely stay here again but the aircon needs sorting
Air con
Easy to get too. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was delicious.
Very dated. Door wouldn’t unlock. Ants in bathroom
Large room. Friendly staff and food was excellent
Garden room when they have music on in the garden .
£8 for flat Guinness
Breakfast and dinner were well presented in a lovely dining room - beautiful surroundings overall and very helpful staff.
The food was lovely.
When we arrived after a 4 hour drive the receptionist (old lady with grey hair) made us feel it was our fault that the key cards were not charged. She was rude. That evening went to have a bath and no hot water. I went to reception and she shrugged her shoulders and said the whole hotel has no hot water and was waiting for an engineer. Not even a sorry! The other receptionists were lovely and welcoming. Our room looked very tired. In desperate need of an upgrade. Stains on the lampshade. Mould on the grouting in bathroom. Thick dust inside the lamp.
