Cleanness
Breakfast end at 9am and housekeeping never cleaned my room during my 3 night stay
I liked all the aplyances in the suits
The lights kept shutting off in the bedroom after about 30 minutes
Conveniently located and nice and clean. Great friendly atmosphere.
location, the 3rd floor lobby, the rooftop, and The Pancake House being downstairs
the $72/ night parking and the breakfast- but The Pancake House being downstairs make up for the breakfast on the 3rd floor
Overall a good stay as the hotel is in a good location near restaurants and music venue. The valet process is not great, requiring multiple trips upstairs to main desk. When getting car out of valet parking, phone number is central dispatch not in hotel and is inefficient. Could do better on breakfast.
We requested extra towels and they were promptly brought to us. We also requested a luggage cart for check out. It was also promptly brought to us. The hotel attendant was helpful to answers our questions on Thursday evening. (I did not catch his name. Very friendly and willing to assist!
Thin walls. We heard other guests coming/going at various times including the middle of the night so 3 of the 4 of us did not sleep well!
The room was spacious and quiet
We didnt get to enjoy the pool due to an event that was going on until 8 and the parking as well but overall everything was perfect.
Amazing place to stay! rooms are perfect and the staff is amazing! the lounge on the top floor is perfect for chilling for the evening with a nice view of Chicago skyline
Location
Rude guy at check in, bins in hallway all the time blocking our door and rate higher than quoted on booking.com
I loved the apartment vibe—it felt like we were true Chicagoans rather than visitors! The hotel was conveniently located and we loved exploring this more authentic side of the city after always staying right next to the river in the past. The unit was cozy and well-designed, especially the bathroom and closet area, to get the most benefit and storage with the space available. This is now our default spot for all future Chicago trips!
No complaints!
Our experience started on a positive note, as the entrance staff and front desk team were friendly, welcoming, and made check-in easy. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and had a great view.
Unfortunately, our stay was impacted by a maintenance issue. The toilet in our room would not flush. It wasn’t clogged, but it was clearly not functioning properly. Since we had plans shortly after checking in, we weren’t able to report the issue until we returned later that night.
When we contacted the front desk, we were disappointed with the response. A staff member brought us a plunger, even though the issue was not a clog, and there was no attempt to have maintenance inspect the toilet or offer us a different room. We expected the hotel to take a more proactive approach to resolving the problem rather than leaving us to deal with it ourselves.
While the room and the hospitality at check-in were excellent, the lack of assistance with a significant maintenance issue left us disappointed and negatively affected an otherwise enjoyable stay.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay was disappointing.
I specifically booked a Queen Suite with two queen beds, a kitchen, and a high-floor location. Instead, I was given a Queen Den with only a microwave—a significantly different room than what I reserved.
What made the experience worse was the lack of customer service. At check-in, the front desk employee was dismissive, and when I later asked about a rate adjustment because I wasn't given the room I booked, I was simply told that a note would be left for the manager. There was no attempt to address the issue or offer any resolution.
I followed up again and spoke with a different front desk employee, who told me they could not issue a refund because I booked through a third-party website. However, I did not pay through a third party—the hotel itself charged my credit card and is responsible for the transaction. Additionally, no one from the hotel ever attempted to contact me regarding the issue.
Mistakes happen, and I understand rooms sometimes need to be reassigned. What matters is how those situations are handled. In this case, I paid for a higher-category room, received a lower-category room, and felt my concerns were met with indifference.
I expected much better service and communication, especially given the price of the stay.
The location is cool, though.
Location
Tooo expensive
Staff is beyond. Lost my wallet and wouldn’t let me check in.. spent 5 hours on the phone with world of Hyatt. World of Hyatt kept transferring to the front desk. I then had to spend 4 hours backtracking my day. I finally get my wallet back. Pull up and the Valet at 1am screams at me when I told it was self park … by World of Hyatt. The following day I extend and I get asked for my ID again. Ok. “POLICY” that property management group is beyond.
