Très bon emplacement près du métro pour se rendre au centre de Chicago. Parking gratuit. Très bon restaurant à prix raisonnable. Grande chambre et tres propre.

This hotel is filthy. Tiny elevator that I wasn't sure was going to work. Entered the room with what looked like a crime scene on the door. Musty smelly room. The room appeared to have not been dusted in months. The furniture and decor looked like it was bought from someone's great grandmother's yard sale. Kitchen cabinets falling apart and dirty counters. The rugs most likely have never been cleaned. The pillows had a weird smell and the bed sank in the middle. Wall paper peeling off the walls all over and a janky attempt to use scotch tape to fix it. I would give this zero stars if I could. Only positive staff was nice.

The air conditioning was stuck at 59 degrees but only blew a few feet into the room. It was uncomfortably hot both nights we were there. We asked the front desk to look into this. We were told to call the manager 'later'. I asked that the manager look into this and contact us. We heard nothing. On returning to the hotel we inquired if the problem had been rectified. They knew nothing about it. We were told that "the thermostat is set at that temperature" with no concern for the fact that it did not cool the room.

A grand old hotel in, perhaps 1950 it is now ludicrously expensive, other dingy and for in great need of an update. Tiny elevators, tiny televisions, musty smelling and with a complete lack of modern amenities such as computer, modern coffee makers and cell phone charging outlets, etc One can fine much bigger, brighter and more modern amenities at any chain motel. The staff, sadly. lack any warmth or charm. much like the hotel itself. We had a problem with the room air-conditioner barely working. The front desk assured us the manager would see to this and call us. He did neither.

The Carleton of Oak Park was an excellent, nostalgic hotel! We completely enjoyed our stay with shopping and dini9ng all within walking distance in a secure and clean downtown neighborhood. Terrific rooms that are cleaned daily! Youn will not regret staying at this classic hotel!

I stayed at the Carleton for 2 nights. I stayed in The Hemmingway Suite. It was a perfect room to get ready in for my wedding. The bathroom is spacious, has a jacuzzi tub, separate shower, king size bed, living area, and a small refrigerator, microwave, & sink. The room was clean, cool, and picture ready for getting ready photos. The lobby is beautiful upon entrance and the staff is so friendly and kind. My mom also stayed at the hotel in the king suite, it was bigger with a dining area and full sized kitchen. I had other family stay at the motel who said it was stuffy and congested so I’d reccommend staying in the hotel portion for a better experience. There is a bar and restaurant attached to the hotel which makes it very easy to meet up with friends/family. Location is also nice as it is walking distance to downtown Oak Park. Coffee shops, boutiques, dining all within walking distance.

We liked our stay very much. The accommodations were great. The location in Oak Park is great. We especially liked Egg Harbor for breakfast and Victory Italian restaurant. So, whenever we come to visit our son and his family, we will be staying at The Carleton. Clean rooms, good service, and a good value. It was all great.
