The motel sections definitely needs upgrading and updating. The hotel part room are beautiful, but only main areas were
Pros:

They allowed us to change rooms the second night and the day clerk was very kind and helpful. The night clerk was not particularly friendly or welcoming, though she was ok.

Cons:

Both rooms we had were clean in the main areas, but underneath furniture and small spaces between the bed and wall or behind the door had obviously not been vacuumed or swept and there was debris. We even found a pill behind the night stand while searching for an outlet!

Top of my list if I am in the area, well maintained and I got a great night's sleep.
Pros:

Great staff and the hotel was easy to find, get checked in and parked. Limited free parking, but it was not an issue for my stay. It was very quiet and the rooms are nice.

A hidden gem
Pros:

We enjoyed our stay at the Carleton of Oak Park. My husband I were in town for our daughter's wedding. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Katie in particular made sure that everything went smoothly. Our room was lovely and very clean. We liked the old world charm of this hotel. The walkable area around the hotel felt safe with nice places to eat and shop.

A great introduction to oak park
Pros:

Bed was comfortable, the suite well appointed.

First i booked online but first i called 2 weeks before and ask if the prices were different online or over the phone they told me it was better if i get it online i booked 2 weeks before my trip when i got there they were trying to charge me almost 700 dls when i book online it was 450 the guy said it was a 3rd party and he couldn’t charge that price i show him the screenshot i took of the price and said nooo that it was a 3rd party and cant do nothing then i ask to cancel my booking and then he said that he had other rooms outside the hotel MOTEL and he can rent me that one i toon it since i was coming from Az and was tired then paid 527 dls to get a room that was not working they called me to the room and ask if everything was good and i told them the toilet was not working then he said they were not allowed to rent those room and that he was going to give me a different room same price we get to the room everything was ok until the next day we found a centipedes took a picture after my hushed kill it when to the front office the girl look like she dint care at all she just ask if we wanted someone to clean the mess but we had clean it already i could not sleep there anymore in the room to much noose and the heater wont work people were hitting them to male them work again and u cant sleep with that noise if i could give a 0 rate i would and i would of get a refund as well this place sucks

Pros:

Excellent location. Poor Phil’s restaurant outstanding. They have over 100 beers to choose from, I was like a kid in a candy shop.

Terrific hospitable charming hotel
Pros:

The staff and facilities at the Carleton were outstanding. From booking a block of rooms to arranging for a 20 person dinner at La notta everything was flawless.

Beautiful hotel, we would stay again!
Pros:

Beautiful property, friendly and helpful staff. squeaky clean, fantastic location in the heart of Oak Park.

Cons:

The coffee machine in the room was broken and we asked staff to bring a new one to the room while we were gone on Christmas Eve. When we came back late at night, the broken coffee pot was still there. The front desk clerk went to get a new one for us, but couldn’t find one, so he kindly gave us the coffee machine from his office. It worked beautifully and we really appreciated that.
