The breakfast was a coupon for use at the Hide-Out restaurant located in their lobby. The location is great near the International Street.
Beautiful hotel with fantastic people! Joey, Dominick, and other front desk staff were kind, welcoming, and helpful. The valet service is convenient and the guys were great. Daily shave ice is a fun treat and the pool is a comfortable relaxing place.
I had an amazing stay at the LayLow. This was my second time staying there and I am already look forward to booking again!! It is in the best location in Waikiki and all of the staff is amazing. Dom at the front desk was extremely helpful and attentive with any questions that I had. I can’t wait to go back!
Location is outstanding - close to everything in Waikiki and super safe to walk around. The room was spacious, and the welcome gift was an incredible touch.
The wait for lifts can be a little long, especially in the mornings.
Clean and didn’t feel like a huge building walking forever to get to ur room
Wish hot tub worked
Although the staff were nice, the hotel was disappointing. The room I was in was noisy with loud music playing until midnight. Elevators and hallways are worn down, and it definitely needs an upgrade. I couldn't sleep well at all, and the lobby was also basic/ lackluster. It did feel ike a 2 or 3 star hotel at best. Note that the ongoing construction did cause water outages for a few hours, which didn't inconvenience us, but I can see why other paying guests would be frustrated with no notification about it prior to check-in.
Early January 2026 stay with my 2-young adult children. This is NOT a 4-star boutique hotel. This is really a 2-star hotel and I'm surprised anyone would give it an award. Our 7th floor room looked out to an 8-story parking garage with bright lights on all night. The room was dark even with all lights on; not enough clothing storage space. Beds really soft & saggy. Daily room service did not clean the room/bathroom very well. Waikiki is overcrowded.
If you want a boutique hotel in the heart of Waikiki, The Laylow is a great choice. The pool is small, but the beach is just a five-minute walk. There’s nightly live music, which may be noticeable when sleeping. The location is hard to beat—close to excellent food, shopping, and the beach. The rooms were clean, and special thanks to Nori for making our stay especially comfortable.
Stayed as a family of 4 (kids 11 & 15) over Xmas week for 3 nights. Can’t beat the location! We used the valet which was pretty timely but quite expensive.
The pros:
1. Locations was amazing. We walked everywhere.
2. Valet generally did a good job but it’s $$
3. Room was basic but clean and fairly modern. We were in 1212 and had a view of a car park
4. Nice amenities including slippers, bag and chocolates
5. We were locked out as the room card reader battery died but they fixed it quickly
Areas for improvement:
1. Breakfast was $$$ and terrible. None of the food had any taste and came out cold
2. The pool is tiny and not appealing
3. The hotel is quite small so lobby can feel quite congested
4. Concierge not that helpful

Vintage Hawaii cool yet modern. Very centrally located - the lobby being one floor up is a huge benefit to keeping it less crowded with tourists.
The welcome basket was AMAZING.
The pool is so small.
My family loved their stay at the laylowl! Special shoutout to Sierra for her quick and informative responses. 5 Stars.
For $650 a night, this place was a huge disappointment. Small room. Noise from bars nearby is very loud late into the night, which is not relaxing for a vacation. Pool is tiny. View from rooms is of parking lot. Saw a roach on arrival in the lobby. No security - anyone can come onto the floors with the rooms. Only two elevators. WiFi doesn’t work at all. If the room was $100 a night maybe but not for $650. This is more like a renovated motel. The location is convenient to shops and a few blocks from the beach but I would never stay here again. Staff was nice, but this is not a relaxing well kept, secure place.
