Petousis Hotel & Suites

Unfortunately, our stay at Petousis Hotel & Suites was disappointing, and I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

To start with, the room itself had several maintenance issues. The toilet flush had no handle or cover, which gave the bathroom an unfinished and poorly maintained appearance.

One of the biggest concerns was accessibility. We stayed in the family rooms building, which has no lift to access the first floor. When we asked about this, we were told there was “no need” because the building only has a ground floor and first floor. I found this response very disappointing, as it completely overlooks guests with disabilities, mobility issues, injuries, or anyone who struggles with stairs. For a hotel that advertises itself as a 4-star property, I expected accessibility to be taken far more seriously.

Another major issue was the hot water. Every morning there was little to no hot water, making it difficult to have a proper shower. It seemed as though the system couldn’t cope when multiple guests were using it at the same time.

The beds were also extremely uncomfortable. They were so firm that sleeping on a futon would genuinely have been more comfortable.

Noise was another significant problem. We could constantly hear traffic from the nearby road as well as children playing in the play area. We asked if it was possible to move rooms, but were told there were no other family rooms available. As my mum and I wanted separate beds, changing to a standard room wasn’t a suitable option.

Finally, the hotel’s organisation was extremely disappointing. On our first evening, we arrived late and decided it would be easiest to have dinner at the buffet. We were told it would cost €20 per person, which was perfectly fine. However, when my mum later went to pay, reception had no record of us using the buffet. She had signed her name and room number on a receipt at the time, yet they claimed they had no copy or record of it. It took quite a while to resolve before they were finally able to accept payment. It was frustrating that such a simple transaction became unnecessarily complicated due to poor record-keeping.

However, despite the many issues we encountered during our stay, I would like to acknowledge that most of the staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They did their best to assist us whenever we had a concern, and they were one of the few positive aspects of our experience.

This Hotel is amazing. We stayed in a Junior Suite, and our room was a great size, and spotlessly clean.
The staff really make this hotel what it is, and that starts at the very top with the hotel Manager who is always walking around interacting with the guests. They all work so hard to make sure everything is just right. The housekeeping team keep the rooms to a high standard. The Lifeguard around the pool makes sure everyone is happy, providing clean towels, tidying the tables and chairs, and making sure everyone is having a good time.
The bar and waiting staff in the main bar, and around the pool areas do a fantastic job.
We stayed on a Bed and Breakfast basis, and the breakfast buffet was always fresh, with a great selection. Fresh fruits, yoghurts, meats, cheeses as well as a hot selection.
The atmosphere in the hotel is really chilled, definitely not a party hotel if that is your thing. They have live music in the main bar twice a week and we really enjoyed it. There is always Greek music and dancing involved. Big shout out to Babis and Babis on the main bar who were great.
At the front of the hotel is the Petousis Taverna. This is must if you stay here. Amazing food and excellent prices. There is also a brilliant Beach club about 2 minutes walk away, called Heaven. Again, a must if you are staying at this hotel.

Maria gave me an excellent massageshe was incredibly skilled, kind, and friendly. The entire team, including Vaskilina, Anna, and Nikolas, were all amazing and made me feel so welcome. I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

my friend and I had a lovely week holiday at this beautiful hotel. The room was spotlessly clean and the shower was amazing with the water pressure being the best I’ve ever encountered in Greece. The staff were all lovely but special shout out to the young barman who was exceexceptionally proficient and professional.
The variety and quality of the breakfast was excellent and we did eat in the Taverna, which was also very good. We also used the spa and the gym - again a really nice touch in a small and friendly hotel. All in all we had a lovely stay at this hotel in room 206

Lovely hotel with good facilities and only a five minute walk to the beach. Good breakfast with lots of choice. Pool area never too busy, sun loungers always available. Staff are lovely and I must give a special mention to Babis and Babis in the hotel bar. Both are so lovely, friendly and make a great Spritz! Those boys are a real credit to the hotel, can’t praise them highly enough.

We stayed there for a week. It looks lovely from the outside and the pool area is very nice. It’s a 5 min walk to the beach which is clean. The restaurant Taverna is good, some things are a bit overpriced.

The staff at the hotel especially the waiters and cooks were so friendly!! There was one guy at reception who wasn’t helpful at all when we needed directions to a beach but other than that everyone was so helpful.

There are shops and restaurants nearby and the bus takes 30 min to Heraklion Center.

The rooms are made up every day - not cleaned. This is where they could improve. Other than that - I would definitely come back.

We stayed for 10 nights in a junior suite, and had an incredibly relaxing holiday. The hotel is spotless and the staff are all so helpful and welcoming. We were able to arrange for a late check out the day that we left, which was easily done and made our last day much more relaxing. A fantastic holiday.

Just had 2 weeks at Petousis hotel.what a lovely experience. Check in was very easy and our room on 4th floor was very comfortable. Our maid was exceptionally good and so cheery and friendly. All the staff were very polite and accommodating. Big shout out to Kiki was was always there when we needed a drink or a snack.
You cannot go to Petousis hotel without visiting the spa,where we had a free 10 minute massage . Maria was so friendly and always there for a chat. I also had a 60 minute massage from John who was very professional and experienced.
All in all a good relaxing holiday. Would recommend this hotel for a relaxing chilled holiday.

We stayed here for 12 nights and enjoyed our stay.
The room was slightly smaller than expected but had plenty of cupboard space. The shower was really good but the hand basin is in the bedroom which isn't ideal. Cleanliness was good and the housekeeper was super friendly.
We had a jacuzzi which was a nice addition with two sun loungers and a table and chairs. The terrace area could've done with being swept more often as debris did accumulate over the 12 days.
Breakfast was good with a lot of variety. Always plenty of places to sit.
We did have a few problems. Our TV didn't work on arrival and the toilet ran all night but these were very quickly rectified. There was a leak from the room above which I reported straight away but it took two further visits to reception for this to be fixed. I felt this could've been dealt with better. However, they did check that it was no longer a problem for us a few times after it was fixed which I thought was good.
Overall a really nice place to stay and we had a lovely holiday

Fantastic experience my massage

A beautiful, modern hotel with stylish and comfortable rooms. The bath towels were replaced every day, and there was also a convenient towel service for both the pool and the beach. The breakfast was extensive and of excellent quality. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always helpful. The wellness facilities are excellent, and the massages are highly recommended. The hotel is within walking distance of the beach, where you'll also find a lovely beach club. It's also just a short taxi ride from Heraklion. We had a wonderful holiday and would happily return.

The spa was easy to locate and if you did have a problem finding it Maria will help you and come up to you on poolside and introduce herself.

Overall the massage was lovely. The pressure was perfect. You feel relaxed and at ease.
