Staybridge Suites - Columbus - Worthington, an IHG Hotel

Horrific experience. Showed up, hotel was closed, no one available. Called a bunch of numbers, no one picked up. Maintenance staff (who were nice!) let us know that this was a regular occurrence. Reeked of cigarettes and was filthy. Couldn't get a refund and had to spend many hours disputing through our bank. Hotel fought the dispute but wouldn't even pick up the phone to have a conversation.

Do not stay here, avoid at all costs.

Don’t ever stay here. Booked a 2 night stay for my family. Walking in to a heap fan running, room dirty, thermostat falling off of the wall. It was late and we had littles so we just tried to make it work. Upon further discovery, we found dirty towels, pubic hair in multiple places, an AC that didn’t work, multiple stink bugs from the portable AC in the windows that wasn’t completely sealed, and a dirty fridge. We made it through the night and left to take care of what we were in town for (kid’s Christmas gift) to get a phone call that they needed to switch our rooms now and that they were moving our things even though we did not give them permission. I’m a breastfeeding mom and had milk and breastfeeding supplies out.

They offered no solution for this and would not refund our money or the duration of our stay. Someone was in our room was in our room without our permission. That isn’t okay. We had tickets already purchased for my kid’s Christmas gift and they have ruined it.

Oh, and the night person spent most of her time in the gym and not at the desk when needed. Weed and cigarette smells throughout the building several times both night and day.

Dirty, disgusting, broken.

The outside area was very well kept and clean. There is a nice outside seating area next to the pool and basketball court. The room was very spacious and nicely equipped with kitchen items. There were clean sheets and towels. I could however, tell that this was the “people with pets” room. For $75 extra per night for your dog, you would think they could put that money towards the ripped carpets, markings on the walls, slight pee smell in one of the closets, and severely worn away ceiling in the shower. I honestly was mostly upset though because I booked this place mainly for the beautiful breakfast display that was advertised. That is always the selling point for me with hotels. We have a big family, and so it was worth it to me to spend a little extra for a nice big room with breakfast being provided. When we went down to eat in the morning before leaving, there was the very nicely kept and clean serving area, but the lights were off and there was no food. The front desk man told me “we don’t do it anymore.” It honestly looked like they just decided not to do breakfast that day. That was very upsetting to us and our kids as then we had to listen to them cry because they were hungry and we had to search for food. Very disappointing and I feel like without breakfast provided, not worth it the stay.

The building and property was pretty unkept and dirty. The room was however nice and pretty clean. It expected better from an IHG property.

Loved the suite layout with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It was perfect with 2 teenage boys.

Deeply disappointed with our stay here. The first tipoff that I'd made a bad choice was the odor in the hallway - rancid sausage is the best description I can think of. Second tipoff was the piles of dirty laundry outside the room doors. Apparently the staff just throw dirty bedsheets and such into the hall for pickup later. Not a pretty sight. Not long afterward we met up with our son and his family who had arrived a day earlier. Their room was in terrible shape - torn and dirty carpet, damaged walls and such. So when they told me this was there second room, and that the first one they'd been assigned was much worse, I was quite taken aback. Fortunately, we all moved into a two bedroom suite that was much nicer. No real complaints about it, but the psychological damage was already done. Then there's the matter of breakfast. On day one, there was virtually nothing to eat in the breakfast room. Apparently the necessary staff person hadn't bothered to show up or call in about their absence. We went elsewhere for breakfast, and on the second day, we didn't even bother to try the breakfast room. So clearly I can't recommend this place. I advise one and all to seek out better accommodations. It would be hard to do much worse.

Really the only good thing about this hotel was the employee that I had the pleasure of interacting with a few times. She was very pleasant when we checked in and any other time I talked with her. The room was only 60 degrees when we entered. My husband turned it up to 80 as it was a very cold and rainy weekend. The next morning when we went to take a shower for the first time, the water was super cold. We ran it for 30 minutes and it never warmed up. We ended up bathing using the sink water, which was warm. The employee gave us a new key card for a different room to see if that water would warm up, but it was the same and the room smelled like corn chips and feet. We walked in and out 3 times and it smelled each time we entered. Both rooms had cosmetic issues in the bathrooms like a bulging ceiling and rust stains. My husband told me to run the shower water in the 1st room to see if maybe turning the heat up helped the water to somehow heat up. It surprisingly did, but it still wasn't as hot as we expect hotel water to be. We checked in around 9pm the night before so the temp was turned up to 80 degrees 12 hours before trying to take a shower. It didn’t warm up til 4pm the day after checking in. We kept the first room since we were only staying 1 more night. My biggest problem is that I believe the room we stayed in had bed bugs or some type of pest because I randomly have about 10 red itchy bumps on my body that I didn't have before staying at this hotel. We won't return.

Awesome staff, friendly, engaging and helpful, the property was clean and specious. Great for families

There was black hair in the tub and shower we have blonde hair. I called the front desk to ask for cleaning products . The lady came up 15 minutes . In the time it took her to come up I checked other areas of the room amd have pictures. The bed sheets and pillowcases had black hair. And the refrigerator was not cleaned out. When the employee came in she said she would return to the front desk building to see what else was available. She called 10 minutes later and said she would be right up and had a few rooms we would look at together. We packed up our belongings waited 20 minutes called back and she then told us we could come get a new room card and look at the room she didnt have time to come. We walked outside ( front desk not attached) to get the new card. She said if the room was ok to call her. The new room was clean so I called her and the then instructed me to bring the old key card to her. In all this took 1 hour and 45 minutes. No apologies were given . At checkout I told the front desk clerk and he replied its been noted. And it wont let me add photo's.

Absolute disappointment! We drove 12 hours arrived and found this to be the sketchiest, most disgusting, IHG hotel we’ve ever been to 13 years with IHG Diamond Elite. We did not stay due to the white passenger van in the parking lot doors wide open(it was raining), people lurking around vehicles while partaking in illegal substances, and last but not least my husband being approached by a prostitute in the elevator. The room was not up to standards, I’m going to say it would fail a black light test horribly. Save yourself, do not waste your money, or points, stay elsewhere. I wouldn’t trust my dog at this hotel much less my family staying here. Reviews on IHG do not share the level of disappointment this hotel provides.

Room was clean and much bigger than expected. It was quiet and the continental breakfast was very good.

No hot water, Room furnishings are worn, no room darkening curtains

Clean, large rooms. No ice machine on the property worked. Rooms were older, but kept in good shape. The front desk guy was on a video call with someone while we were checking in and was talking to them, hardly paying attention to his job. When he did speak, it was a whisper. Very unprofessional!!

The staff here were very impressive. We were very well accomodated in a 1st floor room. It was very clean and nice. There was an ant issue but the staff was so great, took care if it immediately.

Parking was great and even the coffee in the lobby was good.

Location was excellent and central to all our events.

Only had 1 remote for 3 TVs and front desk said they couldn’t help they had no more, shower in master bedroom didn’t work at all and shower in 2 room only had cold water.

Bang for your buck

Room size was good. The breakfast was good. Each room has a separate sink and bath which allows two people in bathroom doing things in parallel. Price is very competitive.

The hot water in the shower does not stay hot very long. Not many towel’s either
