Great location, friendly staff, overall value for money.
Pros:

Rooms were small but well appointed. Bathroom excellent. Breakfast was wonderful with a great selection and very helpful staff. Excellent location with good range of facilities around, just across the square being the tram stop to and from Central. Reception staff were very helpful and accomodating.

Cons:

The lifts were an experience, the bar area was very uninviting, cold and with no atmosphere; the barman was warm and friendly. Noise at night was minimal; didn't need the supplied earplugs, but there was a vibration from the club next door from 11pm onwards.

Charming hotel with an unbeatable location.
Pros:

Our stay at Hotel Schiller in the center of Amsterdam was absolutely wonderful! The location is unbeatable, right on Rembrandtplein, with all the main attractions, restaurants, and canals just a short walk away. The hotel has a charming, classic atmosphere that perfectly matches the spirit of the city. Our room was comfortable, clean, and beautifully maintained. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel truly welcome from the moment we arrived. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend Hotel Schiller to anyone visiting Amsterdam!

I Need more SMILE, Laughter & Galore

Dang 🇦🇺🇳🇱 Wonderful stay with a small service note to this property.

Special thanks to Lynn Woltjes, for kindly upgrading my room it truly left a pulchritinous impression after a long journey (I am Australian/ Sydney). The room, the atmosphere & the overall experience were excellent.

The restaurant and Hotel Schiller itself are remarkable stylish, comfortable & very well located. I genuinely enjoyed my stay and would happily recommend this hotel.

One small note for improvement: upon arrival on 6 February 2026 around 7:00 PM, after a very long trip from Sydney, Australia, followed by workshops & a conference in France 🇫🇷 , I asked the senior Caucasian receptionist for directions to a nearby café. The response was correct but felt a bit cold, a warmer smile would have made a big difference after such a long journey.

That said, overall service was strong, and with more consistently friendly front-desk interactions, this hotel easily deserves its 5-star rating. B U T!! 🔥 I would gladly stay here again.

Die Matratze war schlecht, harte Teile im Rücken, fehlende Lüftung im Bad, nur ein Haken für Handtücher, Decoration der Zimmer etwas duster und nicht so ansprechend, nachts laute Musik. Im Vergleich mit anderen Hotels schlechtes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis

Ótima localização, funcionários eficientes e gentis. Quarto espaçoso.

Cons:

Banheiro alaga quando usa o chuveiro. O primeiro quarto que nos foi oferecido cheirava a mofo.

Perfect base for a short stay
Pros:

We were given a warm welcome by reception on arrival. Bar staff were very friendly and helpful too.
Location was just perfect - within a 20 min walk from most attractions on the tourist trail. Restaurants plentiful in the square outside - steak restaurant De Nachtwaght is a must visit ~ steaks to die for!
Our room was perfectly functional, clean and we had windows out to the outside world for some fresh air. There were coffee and teas facilities and a complementary bottle of water for us each day.
Bathroom was very modern, in very good order and had a more than adequate shower, which was very much welcomed after a day out!
The hotel had a bar ~ the prices of the drinks were very fair; it has lovely seating area where you can enjoy a view of the square. No one rushes you leave ~ nice place to chill and relax
All in all we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to others

Cons:

The little shop in the foyer which is shown in the photos no longer exists.
The bar does not at this moment sell snacks/food - although there are restaurants in abundance in the square outside
Bed could have a slightly more superior mattress but otherwise it was adequate for our stay.
