My daughter and I stayed in early June and really enjoyed it. The hotel is clean and well looked after, the rooms were clean too, and the staff were great, friendly, helpful, and always happy to sort out whatever we needed.
The location is excellent. The hotel is right by Dam Square, the central square, and you can walk to every attraction from there. There's really no point taking a taxi or renting a bike, everything is within walking distance.
The hotel has a very popular restaurant, Bouillon d'Amsterdam, but be prepared to either wait in a fairly long queue or book well ahead. It's not a big deal though, because there are loads of good restaurants right nearby. Corner House Amsterdam is worth a look, they do very good Dutch food.
We were on the 6th floor with a view over the surrounding area and a church. The room was well soundproofed, so after a full day of sightseeing we always rested well. The staff were really helpful throughout.
Recommended, we'd happily go back.

Stayed at Die Port van Cleve for several days during a business trip and was very pleased with the experience.
The hotel's biggest advantage is its outstanding location. Situated right in the heart of Amsterdam, it allowed me to reach almost every destination I needed on foot, including the city center, restaurants, museums, and public transportation. Despite the central location, the hotel was surprisingly quiet, and I was not disturbed by street noise.
The staff were excellent throughout my stay. The concierge team deserves special mention for being friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful with recommendations and practical assistance.
The rooms were clean, well maintained, and comfortably sized by European city-center standards. I also appreciated the in-room coffee machine and complimentary coffee capsules.
One point worth noting is that breakfast is not included and comes at an additional cost. Given the abundance of excellent cafés and bakeries within a short walking distance, I would personally skip the hotel breakfast and explore the local options instead.
Overall, an excellent choice for anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located hotel in central Amsterdam with professional service and easy access to the city's main attractions.

location is great, Ercan is who checked us in and was very accommodating. We purchased the early check in which he offered and was very happy they had a early check in policy. We were on the 5th floor, elevator and lift were speedy. Rooms were very clean, needed an extra blanket becuase the A/C was very good, the cookies in the tin, were a very nice touch. The history of the hotel was intriguing, friends arrived 4 hours later and Ercan managed to get our friends on the same floor. Did NOT have any noise issues as others had stated. Price point was reasonable and So all in all a GREAT experience. Thank you Ercan and Team Port Van Cleve

Excellent location

Hotel is very well located and the staff is very nice and helpful. Beautiful outside building and easy to commute.

Clean and very hospitable. The bar within was were we would start and finish our day, Alice and her team were exceptional.
