Delta Edmonton South – Fine for a Weekend, Not Built for Business
I want to start with a genuine highlight: Yaraslova at the lounge was exceptional. Warm, professional, and attentive in a way that stands out. She’s the kind of staff member that makes a property look better than it deserves.
Unfortunately, the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired, particularly for a business traveler.
The internet situation is a real problem. Connectivity across the property is inconsistent, drops frequently, and there is no paid upgrade option for better bandwidth. For anyone trying to work here, it’s a non-starter.
The front desk team struggles with multitasking and situational awareness. At one point, while I was grabbing a cup of coffee and carrying a few snacks from the vending machine, I was asked if I was heading to the gym to work out. The check-in experience was confusing for both clerks working the terminals. Both small things, but it speaks to a broader pattern of interactions that felt off.
The TVs appear to be original LCD units from around 2005. You couldn’t see the picture from across the deluxe rooms they were so small.They look it.
Housekeeping was a particular frustration. On a Sunday morning, I noticed the housekeeping staff holding what appeared to be a full team meeting in the area adjacent to the gym. I thought little of it until it ran the entire length of my 50-minute workout. I left and the returned to the hotel around 4pm to find my room had never been cleaned. When I asked the front desk to send someone up, they seemed genuinely perplexed by the request, as if it were an unusual ask late in the afternoon.
Finally, there was a CUPE union conference on property during my stay. The anti-American sentiment that spilled into the elevator conversations was notable enough that I was forced to address it directly with one group.
Bottom line: this is a perfectly fine hotel for a family weekend or an afternoon rendezvous. It is not a place to book when you have work to do or are an American.

Warm and welcoming as soon as I arrived. Fast and easy check in. The Frittatas and arugula salad breakfast was the best!
Super busy place, but they had a kids hockey team staying and it was a little noisy in the hallway but to be expected! They were well mannered and settled in their rooms at a reasonable time.

We stayed here for a recent conference. The staff were great and our room was so clean. We were missing coffee for the machine and they brought us 2 nice fresh cups with cream while we waited for housekeeping.
Thursday evening our whole group ended up in the bar and they were wonderfully prepared for us. Fully staffed and the kitchen did a great job accommodating late evening
The firmness of the bed

I stayed there from May 16th to the 19th at this hotel. When I booked a reservation at your hotel at Booking.com, the confirmation email said my stay was $143 per night. Instead, I was charged $200. When I was complaining about it to the clerk at the desk, he said there was nothing they could do and when I asked for the manager, he said there's no manager and to either leave it or take it. When I then further on explained and showed my receipts and confirmation email, they didn't want to honor it and said, "That we don't honor the price at Booking.com." When I then asked him again that why do your hotel listed on Booking.com for this price and then don't want to honor the price listed he had no answer for it. The management plays games by advertising cheaper prices on Booking.com and charging a whole different expensive price during check-in. All they have to say despite when you show them proof of your receipts is there's nothing they can do. I suggest if you ever book this hotel be careful because they run a big scam by showing cheaper prices on Booking.com, just to attract more customers to book their hotel and charge a very different and way more than the advertised price.
The restraint was dynamite. Staff was awesome. Had a hard time getting into the parking lot

Beds are hard and pillows are aweful…but we had a great time I love this hotel..I’ll sleep when I’m dead 🤭

The thermostat must of been broken because I was either dying of heat and then had to put on extra clothes in the middle of the night to stay warm. Even after teying to turn up the heat multiple times . For the price the shower bath combo was falling apart . Horrible
