I stayed here for business as colleagues recommended. Hotel is in a very green area just over Gagarin Park with good flora and the beautiful thing is that you do not hear any 'mechanical' city noise, but mostly birds!
Breakfast is reasonable though does not change and gets a bit boring after the 2nd day.... Hotal also has terrace if you are lucky with the weather as well as inside jacuzzi & split (M/F) saunas.
Quite place to relax and to enjoy the nature.
The style does not meet my taste however overall is ok, rooms are wide and everything is clean. Bad surprise: the lift is not heated and it's definitely annoying when the outside temperature is around -30C.
The only restaurant inside the hotel is ok as well, however the breakfast is not up to the standard. Moreover everything is not part of the buffet will be charged (including espresso coffe or cappuccino).
The hotel has all the features of a good hotel: although not new, but clean rooms, friendly staff, very good breakfast, good restaurant, daily cleaning, ski room in the hotel, bar, spa, quiet location away from the noise, but no restaurant is more than 10 minutes ride a taxi. Solid four stars.
Even though i spend only almost 1 day, but i can say that its very nice clean, with big rooms, nice restaurants and very quite. Very close for an outdoor walk, good for family staying a place that i recommend it for my friends . Keep it up
A nice place to relax. Very quiet, clean, well maintained. Built in 1993, Japanese design, USA style inside - elevators, rooms, bathrooms. And looks good as new! Away from the city - you need a taxi, not sure about risking a long walk.
This hotel is very good place for a business meeting or seminar.
Great location, very clean establishment, clean toilets, good catering, good facilities and plenty of parking.
The staff are very helpful
Well recommended
This hotel is right next to the forests and cross country ski area. In spring it becomes a great place for outdoor jogging or walks in the nearby park.
The staff here provide service with a smile which is rare in Russia. They are even a bit chatty which is a nice change.
Check in was smooth and quick, but getting to the room was a bit complex until you realize the structure is shaped like a 3 prong fork. The rooms are at the sharp ends. Each of these wings have its own elevator.
My room was facing the park which was very nice. The room was normal size, but has a balcony which is nice. The bathroom is a bit small. The bed is really comfortable.
The gym is not well equipped so I guess the main focus are activities outside.
I saw a room filled with outdoor activity equipment like bicycles, skis and snowboard, maybe they are rentals.
The food is tasty and I like the burgers here. There is a crab appetizer dish that was very good.
Had a good weekend here. But it is too far away from work, so moved closer into town.
Santa is typical Sakhalin resort hotel with large room, with enough comfort. Bathroom basic but everything in. They have sauna. More outside the city with the green nature around, so well located for joggers. Like a lot places on Sakhalin, restaurant can make excellent seafood, breakfast okay but not exceptional. Some Japanese influence in the building.
This was my first time in Sakhalin and I hadn't high expectations in relation to the hotel. I was very well impressed. Rooms are very comfortable, worm and has all what you need. Food and breakfast is not the best but personel is very friendly even with limitations to speak other lenguage than russian. Location is far from city centre so unless you go for a walk to a nearby park, then you need to take a taxi if you wish to try a local restaurant.
Great hotel, location and service. Definitely one of the best hotels in Sakhalin. If you decide to stay here, get the ski package deal, it's cheaper. Make sure that you get breakfast as well, as there is not many places to eat around the city. It has a sauna as well, it's free for the people staying there. Overall, would definitely come back
Probably one of the top if not the best one in town. Very convenient for business trips and business events. Good food, nice location. Rather on the expensive side but pretty good value for money considering rates in other hotels in Yuzhno.
it wasn't the first time, we stayed at Santa during our Sahalin trips, and most probably not the last. The hotel has everything, we need. It is located in a quiet, foresty area just outside the city, something that suits us perfect. There is a good internet connection, a decent breakfast, a couple of bars/restaurants in the area, as well as sauna/jakuzzi, free to use for the hotel's guests. We enjoyed our stay.
Santa is my favorite hotel in Yuzhno, it was designed and built by the Japanese, so it has this calming peaceful atmosphere. The service has always been great, the food in the restaurant is delicious but slightly expensive, so include taxi rides in your budget. There is a small convenience store/gift shop on the first floor. There are no other restaurants or stores nearby in that area. The have a small spa, and an open terrace, the surroundings are very picturesque. The wi-fi is free, but it's not a stable connection, seems to be on and off. The stuff is friendly and they seem to care for you, which doesn't happen very often in Russian hotels.
Friendly staff, huge rooms with comfy beds, 5MB daily wifi allowance, gym, hot tubs, pool/snooker room, cross country skiing...
...but strangely empty when I was there, and all one step away from being what westerners would consider "normal". Nothing you could quite put a finger on, but could definitely be considered quirky!
Fairly mediocre food in the main restaurant, but the sushi in the Japanese restaurant is pretty good.
Would also recommend the red caviar, sour cream and pancake starter from the Russian menu in the main restaurant, and the parma ham platter served in the downstairs bar.
Oh, and the pancakes stuffed with rice and mince on days when they set out the breakfast buffet. Mmm...
