This place has a great vibe. Cool people run this hotel and it shows. If you are looking for a cool vibe you will find it here in Salt Lake City.
The property location is excellent. The hotel is beautiful. My room is nice. The hotel restaurants are excellent.
My problem is with the urine smells in the hallway of the second floor. The dust that is on the floor moldings and the carpets up against the walls. The cleanliness does not match the Grand appearance when you walk into the lobby.
For the entire duration of our 3 night stay, we did not have a working key card to access our room. It was a system problem and multiple guests were impacted. Every time we wanted to enter our room, a staff member had to let us in. The desk and maintenance staff were great to respond quickly to let us in. I know they were dealing with upset guests. Hotel management offered us no compensation at all to make up for this inconvenience or to extend some good will for our patience with the situation.
Also, our shower handle wasnt seated properly so we couldn't turn the water on for a shower.
Clean rooms and great service
The lobby of the hotel has antiques and is quite fun. Breakfast was included, partially, at the restaurant next-door. There is parking on site. For special events the parking cost $30 extra for 10 hours. the night I parked ant the hotel the special event parking was until 7 PM, after that regular parking prices of $25 were in place.
The staff was super friendly. Hotel very beautiful. Parking was close. Walking distance to downtown Salt Lake City. Great place— and it is haunted.
Clean room, friendly staff.
The staff was really nice and the room was really clean
We got to the hotel to checkin at 3:20 in the afternoon. Check in wasnt until 4. The place was empty but they still would not check us in. The room was worn out. The fan was noisy all night long. The tub and the surround were waterdamaged and filled up with caulking as was the tub faucet. The shower curtian was way to small. There was a small mini fridge in the room that was placed on the floor on the carpeting. The only parking close to the hotel cost $55 for the night and the hotel staff was no help. You can tell that the only money used for improvements was in the lobby. There was an alarm clock in the room that went off at 6 in the morning. I could go on and on. Save yourself some money and frustration and a good nights sleep by staying away from this place. There is an Holiday Inn across the street and plenty of other hotels close by.
No parking. Crazy parking during local events. Super inconvenient to play the parking game with street parking until event parking ends in private lot, then move to private lot and pay for overnight parking. Easy to get to $50 parking for a one night stay.
Hotel is nice but due to no parking I’ll stay at a hotel with parking next time.
Our room was clean, beds were comfortable and check in was easy. Located close to all sorts of things and had easy parking! Will be staying here again
Fun overnight stay. Perfect location to get around downtown. Cool historical hotel. Staff was great. Beds comfy. Kind of disappointed I didn’t see Slimer. 😂
Rooms are small
Super cute property. Gave NY vibes. The rooms were nice and quiet. Typically you can hear all the bustle in the mornings at hotels. We slept until 9:30am. Haven't done that in years. Our breakfast at Eggsburge was scrumptious. We never made guest of the day. But, we didn't take it personal. We'll definitely go back so, there's always next time.
Outstanding old hotel. Loved it.
Clean room and the staff was great no issues
Room was clean. Smaller room size as it is an older property. Excellent location close to the Salt Palace and downtown restaurants.
Room is very spaced but the bathroom is a bit small. Staffs are very friendly and helpful.
If you have a chance to stay here, DO IT!!
The rooms are small, but fun. Loved the bathroom tile and bed a cozy enough, for a hotel bed. Our only complaint was that the desk staff was not friendly, they didnt say hello and kind of blew us off until we addressed them. Other than thta, it was a nice, quiet night.
