We've spent amazing three nights in this hotel. They serve a very nice breakfast with good varieties and very tasty food. We got a room upgrade upon arrival, very spacious and with an extra bed for our 5yo child. The only downside is that if you want your room to be cleaned you need to book in advance. We did so but still noone came to clean it during that specific time.
Worst experience ever. They did not have any rooms cleaned and I sat in the lobby for over 2 and 1/2 hours waiting for a room. Meanwhile it got dark outside so now I can't go find dinner. And a bus load of about 35 people just came in and they have no rooms ready for them. The lobby is a horrible loud mess.
Overall this property was mostly good. The location is perfect. The beds and rooms were tidy and equipped with everything you would expect from any respectable hotel. The view from the windows were spectacular. The breakfast was very thorough. And the gym was a nice touch. The only issue was the air conditioning which was just not to the standard one would expect for the price and of a hotel of this standard. In fairness we stayed during the hottest part of the year and it got to 37 degrees celsius. However, even on the "cooler" days the air con was ineffective only blowing a mere draft not even a cool one just some air into the room. This detracted from what would have been an otherwise fantastic stay. Overall if you're not staying during summer I would recommend but if during summer seek alternatives.
Clean room, good quality mattress and pillows,
good breakfast options and helpful front desk.
We did not enjoyed out stay at all.
Property is very good, breakfast was excellent but management of this hotel is horrible. We had air condition issue that never fixed and manager said we don't have fan or cooler.due to very hot weather we did not sleep all night. On check out manager apologised and promised me that I'll get refund of €43.
When I checked my bank statement after my holidays there was charged from the hotel for €43.since then I am emailing to them to management/reservation and responsible member but no one reply back to me.So please make sure check your bills before you pay or make sure all refund in right place before you leave the hotel.
I stayed many hotels but this hotel sais breakfast finished at 10.30 am but staff taking all food and everything out by 10 am.
The best thing about this hotel are the people. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Situated in the central area of Vienna, Arcotel was a great surprise. We had a great stay with our family o our way to Madeira. We will surely be back here soon.
Well connected location near West Vienna station with good transportation links. Hotel staff are very helpful and room was very comfortable for a short business trip.
We had very bad experience with this hotel. They were saying that our room was not ready however several other families were performing the check in. After asking what is going on. The front desk was saying to stay in line and we will get the room, but we were waiting over 2 hours for the rooms as suggested by the front desk. The Personal started to get round and laughing behind our back. I need to mention that all this time we were having small kid with us. On the other hand room was clean but still needs small repairs. I'm not recommending this hotel. We are traveling allover the wold the last years and never had something similar happen.
Arcotel Wimberger Vienna was an average experience overall since the cons overshadowed the positive elements.
Pros:
The hotel is located in a central area with excellent access to public transportation. This provides convenience to travelers.
The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bed was extremely comfortable and provided a good night's rest.
Cons:
The front desk staff lacked the warm, personable touch one expects in the hospitality business.
The hotel follows a book-in-advance policy for room cleaning, but even after booking, cleaning was delayed until I followed up at the front desk.
The hotel provides umbrellas with a 30-euro refundable deposit. I was subject to an interrogation where the staff failed to record my umbrella return, and I was asked to repay the deposit during checkout. This highlights attention to detail, or maybe just a lack of care.
On a serious note, I left a chocolate bar I had kept in the fridge was consumed by someone from housekeeping since they were the only ones who entered the room. This raises concerns about respect for guests' personal belongings.
Overall, the hotel is comfortable and well-located, but the experience was let down by the lack of warmth and attentiveness from the staff.
Having stayed in other Arcotels I felt confident in choosing Wimberger, however I was disappointed to find chaos upon arrival in the reception, an out of order coffee machine, only two coffee sachets in the room to cover a three night stay for two people, and a waiter in the dinning room who actually asked for a tip for serving an overpriced and overcooked meal (although the coffee was delicious). Breakfast was a free-for-all, offering cold “hot” cooked staples, and the cold offerings necessitating stretching over one choice to reach another. I witnessed cheese being manhandled by guests and hair being dangled over cereal. The whole operation was overcrowded and badly organised. When I approached the person who seemed to be loosely in charge and explained that I had been unable to find a decent breakfast her “sympathetic” response was you still need to pay. €19 for a small bowl of banana chips and half a cup of coffee. Nobody appeared to be enjoying their first meal of the day. The room itself was clean and the mattresses comfortable although I would question why the drinks station is placed nowhere near a socket to plug in the kettle.
My tour company chose this hotel because it was advertised as been good, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. The room wasn’t very clean - the walls had marks and the ventilation didn’t work properly due to a thick layer of dus t room is very very hot. However, the bed was ok but I couldn't sleep at all as it is extremely hot.
We are Academy that works in 10 countries and we have never seen this kind of unprofessionalism and never had this large amount of problems because of terrible hotel organization. Nothing was as agreed and the conference room was not ready for us 10 minutes before the start of the course even though we agreed that everything should be ready 1 day before. Nobody knows what to do in this hotel, they are rude and the organization is completely terrible. We reserved the room for whole day on the second day and they stormed in that we need to go out because they need a room for concert. I would avoid this hotel at every possible cost!
The hotel is in a good location to visit Vienna. The train station is 5-8 minutes away in one direction, and the tram is 3 minutes away in the opposite direction.
The hotel room was a good size for two people, and the bed was comfortable. The soundproofing prevented the traffic noise from disturbing my sleep. I didn't eat in the hotel resturant or use the bar as I was taken out by family who live here to local resturants.
Good place but staff was very average
I was quite impressed with this hotel, particularly with its breakfast which was among the best I have had in my frequent travels. The scrambled eggs were notable as they are my test for a great breakfast; they tasted freshly made from real eggs. The selection is also greatly varied and to put it in terms that I search for: it was a full hot breakfast with everything you could ask for.
I had a standard room that while nothing much to look at (the only decoration was the black and white photo of Schonbronn that you find in every hotel in Vienna) was comfortable and functional with the little things that make it a better hotel: a mini fridge, a make up mirror, plenty of accessible outlets, a spacious wardrobe. My only complaint is that the room was hot; even turning off the heating system didn’t help much. I had to open the window to sleep comfortably.
The hotel is located a 5 minute walk from the Westbahnhof so a 15 minute Ubahn ride from the station will have you in the old city. Being outside that area also makes the hotel a good deal: you aren’t far from the sites and the price of the hotel therefore less than those closer to the old city. It’s close to Mariahilfer Strasse and all its shopping. Head towards that street for a variety of restaurants.
Still good qulity/price ratio. Rooms are a bit worn-out, some painting would be needed and some furniture replaced.
However, very good choice for breakfast, a variety of everything, so the quality is much better than in some more expensive hotels.
For us, location close to tram and subway stations is fine as we were not in need to rush.
Great hotel and great breakfast, only downside was the whirlpool being out of order, which is why we were drawn to stay here.
When I checked into the hotel, I was really disappointed with the cleanliness and service. There was hair on the folded robe in my room, and I even found a used toothbrush behind the bathroom door, which made it clear the room hadn’t been properly cleaned. I asked reception for hand soap, and they said someone would bring it up, but no one ever did. I also emailed reception about these issues, but no one responded. When I went to the front desk in person, they promised the manager would contact me, but I never heard back. It’s been really frustrating and far below the standards I expected.
The staff wasn't friendly and gave me and my partner a hard time regarding paying parking and using the gold member voucher. I as a guest don't need to know what the deal the hotel has with expedia nor do I care if they agree with it or not. If they don't like the deal they have with expedia/hotels.com then remove the hotel from their website. Giving guests an unpleasant experience because of this shouldn't be the way to go.
