Fire alarms went off 3 times in the middle of the night. Employee said I wouldn’t fit in jacuzzi to try and upsell the luxury room there was SO much room in the Jacuzzi! Neighbours were drilling something in their rooms after 10pm we knocked to ask them to stop no response - called the maintenance and house keeping they told us it was the elevator noises (it was obvious it was a drill). Waiting to check in 1 person working front desk, waited to check out at 10:30am because again only one person working front desk.
Don’t get me started on the elevators one didn’t work and the wait times was insane.
But the fire alarms going off for 20 minutes at 11:30pm again for 20 minutes at 2:30am and for about 5 minutes at 7am with an announcement saying to remain in place was the cherry on top.
Reconsider whether the price is worth the lack of sleep.
I am really enjoying the water park of west Edmonton park. Also, I like to take a walk in west Edmonton mall.
Once you get past the gimmickry of the rooms you discover they are very basic and not really worth the price. We stayed in the Canadian theme room with the hot tub and big bear sitting there watching you. What really ruined it for us was the fact there was no hot water when we went to have a shower (at around midnight). We rang reception who sent someone up to check and discovered the shower water was ice cold. They also informed that there was no maintenance staff onsite until the morning (rather poor given the size of the hotel and amount of rooms they have). To resolve the no hot water situation they were checking other random vacant rooms (which the only other room on our floor had no hot water either). Now its 1am and my wife and I are being sent to random vacant rooms on other floors looking for one with hot water to have a shower. We finally find one and shower, but then are offered absolutely no form of compensation (other than the token "sorry" from the front desk), for the inconvenience caused. At the least an offer of a free beer or breakfast or anything would have helped made it up to us, but no offer of anything at all means we would not ever be returning here again, and would advise others to look for more substantial accommodation near by that is better value with working amenities.
Due to the alarm going off constantly, my family and I barely got any sleep. For the price I paid, being able to sleep through the night should have been the bare minimum we could expect. We will probably choose another hotel next year for our vacation.
Okay experience, I’ve always liked coming here for the theme rooms but the beds needs some serious upgrading and the jet tub was not clean - not worth the high ticket price for one night.
Loved it my kid loved it and so close to all our needs and we would do it again we are First Nations and it helped with the discountb
The room was very small, being we rented a family room we were expectinga little more space... Also, we were a little disappointed there was no breakfast included in the price considering how much we pay.
Awesome! Clean, great lap room, free parking.
We stayed here for just one night with our family of four, with two kids. Firstly, the kids loved the theme and the concept is pretty cool. Our room was ready early, which was very much appreciated. Check-in was smooth, and the customer service was excellent. Unfortunately, one of the bunkbeds in the space room was not working and this obviously caused some issues between the two children. For the nightly price I would expect everything to be functioning that is the entire experience you’re paying for. The bed as advertised is a double not a queen so be aware of this. The LEDs around the TVs are semi functioning and turn/on off glitch etc. There are no instructions anywhere in the room on how to operate any of the features. The room overall was clean, but you could tell it was worn. I also noticed that the hallways in our floor could’ve used a vacuum. Also, there’s a lot of food trays left in the hallways that need to be picked up, which is pretty gross when you’re walking to the rooms.
The bunkbed not functioning and the doible bed were really disappointing for the price paid. We were only there for one night so I didn’t address this with the front desk but had we have stayed longer, I would’ve asked to change rooms.
I rated location poor because of all the construction and road closures.
I rated sleep quality as average this time because of the fire alarm incident and the curtain issue in the 2nd room.
Overall, it was a great stay.
We were coming for dreaded Doctor appointments again with our son. So I booked at Fantasy Land hoping to help him enjoy the trip more. When we came to check in Ridhima was helping us and she offered an upgrade room to the Luxury Camping room! What a treat it was as the friends we brought had never stayed at Fantasy land before! Thank you so much much Ridhima for making our stay so great!
This is the hotel to stay at when visiting Edmonton! Whether you are travelling with your family or on a romantic getaway with your spouse, Fantasyland hotel is the place to be!
Regular room was just that and had issues with plumbing and bad smelling water from the taps. Theme room is a lot of money so you would expect everything to work but not much did. TV didn't work and we had no hot water. We called for a microwave, and they said they would be right up but no one ever showed. We ordered room service and got a $20 pizza which is fairly cheap but still too much for what you get. Sadly this was not worth it.
Rooms are very rundown and could use some general maintenace. Bunk beds were extremely hard and the shower had no hot water for hours in the morning. The fire alarm went off twice over night and there was extremely poor communication as to what to do and whether everything was ok. Elevators are also extremely slow and food is very expensive. The only perk is the location. It wa great to be in the mall but for the price you could stay a bit further, get free breakfast, pool , a better room and uber to the mall
Wouldve been higher but fire alarm went off twice. Once at 1 am then again at 3 am. Minimum plugs in theme room and tv is in awkward position.
Rafael and Brian were absolutely incredible. Rafael made sure we got our stuff to our room and put it all in our car. He was so kind to my son and just a ray a sunshine after the night of no sleep.
I am sure this was a absolutely not normal experience they also gave us a 75 credit off the room from it. We would come back but not to theme rooms as the lay out for the truck room isnt layed out the best.
We had a amazing stay at Fantasyland Hotel, great location, amazing staff, clean rooms, overall exceptional service and so close to all attractions West Edmonton Mall has to offer for families.
We really enjoyed our stay and the kids had a great time at the water park. The staff were excellent. Our group consisted of 2 moms and 3 kids, and the room had 2 queen beds and 2 bunk beds. It worked well for us. The bathtub was worn and scratched but the room was clean and the beds were all comfortable enough. The pre-check-in email was helpful, and they even had the requested kettle waiting in our room upon arrival. This was appreciated. Thank you to the staff.
West Edmonton mall is Las Vegas Lite. We had a very fun time at the water slides and the pink princess room exceded our expectations. The room was a great size, and the beds were very comfortable.
The hotel experience was excellent only thing is when I checked out and went to get my truck that was parked it Guest parking someone cut my catalytic converter off my exhaust system. Now I am stuck with thousands dollars worth of repair
