Hotel Matana

We stay 5 days in this hotel. Nice warm blankets and for sure the longest I have ever seen which is perfect for dutch persons. I pulled it out from under the matras and then I put it under my feet so they were lifted. Loved it. Temperatures are easy to control during the night.

I loved the rainshower which could be very hot if you wanted and good amount of water. Best seen in three weeks so far.

There are two bathrobes for free use in the room too and 2 pair flip-flops.

We stored our bagage there for some days too, free of charge and everytime when we came back it was put for us in the room again.

Service is good, easy check ins, a little deposit about 500 bath for a small room and 1000 for a bigger. Returned when checked out. Bookings via booking was often cheaper thslan directly at hotel. Watch for the 26m3 room rather than the 13m3. Its quite the few euro extra worth.

There is no breakfest unfortunately but the seven eleven is their neighbour. No elevator is there.

Pool is best to visit between 1 and 3 during the day as its the only moment sun is there to be found. Pool is merely for decoration during the other times of the day I would say althought very good quality of water with no high or wrong chloride percentages.

Scooter we rent for a week feb 2023) for 130 bath a day at bamboo motor rent downtown. It is advisable to rent one as the hotel is a little bit away from the city center. Easy to rent, no problem a few more scratches on the used ones.

Vegan heaven is a 100% vegan restaurant I can advice to all, both vegan and non vegan. We eat there almost everyday twice. Breakfest all day and hard to say they dont use any meat. Loved the massaman with tofu, the souos, the smoothies are of heaven quality especially the coconut/avocado one with a bit of honey.

Lots of fun to go to this hotel. Very recommendable for a holiday without concerns.

For the hotel: change the showerhead of the rainshower in the first room directly on the left when you enter the second floor with the stairs. And just like all hotels, let the cleaners take care occasionally for the showerheads: they must be rubbed at the rubber spots from time to time so calcium is not blocking the exitst of the water 😁💦. We cleaned all 3 of the different rooms we had. But really, thats not a thing. Very good hotel, we woukd return to the same hotel if ever return to chang mai 🙏🙏

Cozy room and comfy bed. Perfect for a quiet stay. Not a tourist area, but very close to the main road with food and coffee options. Very convenient parking space for those who drive.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. A la carte breakfast is served hot every morning with alternating menu items. We were there for three nights when the weather was 15 degrees in the morning. The swimming pool is tucked in the center between the hotels' two wings. Plenty of seating area and loungers to sit around and enjoy the breeze.

Overall a lovely place. Location was a little out of the city which was what we were looking for but still easy to get around. Rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious and there was good choice. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and hospitality was great, would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for one just out of the busy city but still a good distance from what you need and things to do.

This hotel is newer, but tiny. We got the largest suite available and it was still crammed. And although we came in October (when temperatures aren’t as harsh), other than the front reception area, all the hallways, staircases and common spaces are super hot - no AC! And the AC in rooms are super slow (it takes 90+ mins to cool down the room). And because the bathroom plumbing puts out a nasty sewage smell, if the AC hasn’t been running for a while, you’ll have to endure the stuffy heat along with the gross smell for at least an hour.
And because we were staying for a full week, we asked that the house cleaning not turn off the AC while we were away from room (while we were in pool, etc)... but to no avail.
In addition to the smell, heat and small size of room, you should know that the swimming pool is super tiny (think kids pool).
Breakfast is decent (but front desk called us one evening at almost midnight, to ask what we would want for breakfast at 8am. Really!?!
We won’t be returning!

Staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast included cereals, toast, fruit as well as a cooked meal.

Decoration of Hotel are so nice , room is clean bed and pillow is comfortable ,reasonable price.
I like swimming pool is small but very clean.
Staffs so nice.
If you don't have private car i think location far from old city.

This hotel is very new and very reasonable price. I like the bed and pillow that makes you a good sleep all night. The cleanliness of the room and the decorations are so nice. One thing that tye quality of the towel will make you impressed.

One thing for my comment is It would be better if the hotel provide the safe box in the room.

Staffs are also nice the breakfast are also good it is a la carte.
