The location was on Whitemud and Gateway Blvd which allowed us to get where we needed and wanted with ease and efficiency.
The rooms are a lot darker inside (if you face the inner courtyard) with little light fixtures to remedy the lack of light. I understand the importance of environmental measures but single ply toilet paper, very weak shower flow, and a spare amount of towels and pillows are more an indication of lack of real hospitality and generosity sadly.
I think the first thing we liked was the welcome from the front desk agent. I think her name was Raquel. She was excellent.
Because we needed a room close to the door because my son had a bad accident and he couldn’t walk very far so they were well accommodated
Good clean room

Good location
Restaurant on site
The bed was a bit squeaky but still comfortable. The room could use some TLC.
The lobby area is beautiful! The sculptures and artifacts throughout the building are interesting to look at. The breakfast buffet has a nice variety of items. Staff is very friendly. The room rate is reasonable. There is plenty of hot water at all times. There is a gym, although we didn't try it out.
The hotel backs right on to a busy railway track so there are many loud trains passing by during the night. The room we were in (406) is in need of updated carpet (stained) and furniture (the entertainment centre is quite scraped up and the bottom drawer sticks). There were designated spots to charge EVs but they were just trickle-charge outlets and some appeared to have cut and exposed wires . We were afraid to even try them.
big room and clean
I chose the location because it was close enough to U of A to make an easy drive in the morning.
The room was okay as far as being semi-quiet & bed sheets were clean.
Booking.com advertises that BREAKFAST INCLUDED AT the Sawridge Inn & Conference Centre. It is not!
I only found out when beginning to serve myself eggs and was asked what room I was in. The Breakfast Warden consulted a chart & then told me my room did not include breakfast. So I said I would speak to the morning manager.
He flashed a screen where some rooms indicated breakfast was included, and then showed that my room did not.
Either BOOKING.COM is misleading their customers, or Sawridge is misleading Booking.com. I'm not sure.
But I do know, the SAWRIDGE MORNING MANAGER knows very little about customer service and keeping the customer happy... For the sake of a breakfast... he lost me as a return customer and along with me submitting this review, I certainly won't be recommending the SAWRIDGE INN to anyone I know looking for a place to stay in Edmonton.
That was my number one complaint.
Others included sink not emptying, toilet handle needing jiggling to stop flowing, some spots of mould around bathtub caulking (which could because there was no fan in the bathroom), only 1 bedside table, bedside lamp only had one wiggly faulty external plug-in which didn't work for USB charging,
...
Yes, the place is older ... so maybe I shouldn't be expecting everything --
But for the customer, being treated with friendly accommodating service should not happen by chance, it It should be expected ... 100% of the time!
Location
The breakfast was more of one that is usually offered as part of the overall cost of the stay.
Clean, good location for south part of city
Only 1 elevator working
Room electric plugins were loose and didn’t hold plugs
