Bsea Cancun Plaza Hotel

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights a few years ago and we had absolutely nothing to complain about. Before we booked we knew what we would expect for this price.

We have arrived at night, and we had no issue with getting to our rooms, the guy at the reception even showed us our room and helped us with the luggages.
We hade a one story room, beds where upstairs. it was clean, had everything we needed in it.
Of course, the hotel is not top modern 5 star resort. but the sunrise from our room cannot be compared to anything. it is an older hotel. there are some cracks here and there, but I did not came as an inspector, but as a guest who wanted to enjoy the ocean - I this is what I did.

We are heading there again ina few weeks. I really hope to get the same room - so that I can enjoy the same view.

This place is the biggest dump in Cancun. When we got there it looked worse than a motel 6 or giant Mexican bathroom. It hasn't been repainted or remodeled in probably 50 years. Zero amenities. Toilets barely flush and you can't flush toilet paper so your room will smell like poop. You even have to buy your own drinking water and lug it to your room because the hotel doesn't provide this. Everything there looks like it's falling apart and dirty. The only good things are the beachfront, good security, and restaurant... and the staff was good overall. But we will never stay there again. Every other hotel in the area is better. Look at my attached pictures and you will see this clearly.

Great views but the place really need maintenance

I rented three rooms at this hotel, and unfortunately, the experience was terrible from start to finish. One of the beds had bugs (possibly bed bugs or ticks), making it impossible to feel comfortable. The elevator felt unsafe, the floors were uneven, and I saw both dead and alive roaches inside the property. On top of that, there was loud construction during the day, making it very hard to relax.

Transportation services arranged through the hotel were another big problem — they were very expensive, the drivers showed up late, acted unprofessional, and overcharged us. At check-in, the hostess was unfriendly and impolite, which set a negative tone for the entire stay.

Overall, this hotel was poorly maintained, noisy, and unprofessional. For the high price and the fact that I booked three rooms, I expected a much better experience. I would not recommend staying here.

Walking distance to the ocean

The property was extremely old. Water pressure in the shower was terrible, and sometimes the toilets would not flush. There are no curtains in the bathrooms, so everyone outside can see you. It was also extremely dirty; there were roaches all over the place, and I even found a tick on my bed. There were also small bees inside the room.

The worst stay of my life, first of all the room cleanliness was subpar and overall was not clean in addition the bathroom layout was terrible with the toilet being like 6 inches away from the toilet and the overall bathroom size being small which made it impossible to use it comfortably.

Now this is minor in comparison to what happened next was that someone from the hotel managed to steal 1400$ cash CAD from the safety deposit box which i had set a passcode to in addition to that a gold bracelet and a MacBook was also stolen from our room. And we have a police report to prove this. Now the passcode to the safety deposit box I had set and only knew about it so that meant that someone from the hotel had someway to override it and managed to open it up and steal cash from our locker. I have a police report to prove this.

After we had found this out and reported it to the front office the next morning the manager came and told us that there was no camera for the hallway and was still investigating but instead of trying to find who did this she came into our room and had the audacity to start searching our luggage and stuff like we were hiding it. Absolutely I would recommend this place to no one if you value safety of your selves book another hotel.

Other minor stuff included that the rooms floors are literally falling apart, the bathroom area in general was not clean with the shower drain leaching out smell in addition the bathroom had no ventilation.

El lugar esta bien para el precio, hay seguridad y limpiaban el cuarto todos los dias, necesite’ toalla y me la hicieron llegar, la comunicación con la persona en la oficina estuvo bien, pude hacerla atravez de WhatsApp y llamadas. El acceso a restaurantes y lugares esta cerca y la piscina y playa estuvo muy accesible también. Hay que hacerle algunos arreglos a los cuartos en la plumeria pq se tapa el inodoro, bañera y lavamanos fácilmente. Nos proveen con utensilios para comer pero no hay una parte para poder lavar los platos etc., todo debe estar separado, pero de lo contrario todo estuvo bien.

Very old outdated hotel, the room was decent clean , and the view to the beach was great. Staff ok. Will not stay again , but if you wan basic service, hotel is ok.

Nice place

This place is good. Clean accessible to get a transportation to go to other area. Beach is really nice and easy to go just walk down from the pool. Staff are nice and the room where I stay is clean.

As I entered the hotel, I started to notice all the little details—I wanted to write an honest review. I’m not going to lie, I almost canceled my reservation after reading all kinds of negative comments about this place. But here we go!

I was looking for a very cheap and affordable vacation to Cancun, and this was one of the most budget-friendly options available. I told myself: All I need is a bed, AC, and a shower. And to be fair, I got all three.

The hotel isn’t modern-looking, but I noticed they seem to be taking feedback seriously. I saw staff constantly painting, fixing, and renovating various parts of the property. They were painting the front of the hotel white and working on different maintenance tasks throughout my stay.

As for the rooms—they were very spacious. The air conditioning in my room was amazing, and so was the Wi-Fi. I understand why some guests have complained about the bathrooms; they don’t have ventilation, which can be an issue. Just make sure to cover the small hole in the bathroom if you're concerned.

The first two nights were amazing… until our fourth day. I noticed my son had a few bites on his chin. At first, I thought they were mosquito bites—he hadn’t slept well the night before, so that seemed reasonable. But when I took off his pajamas, I saw he had bites all over his body. That’s when I realized we were dealing with bedbugs.

I immediately informed the front desk. The staff member was kind and quickly offered to move us to another room, since we still had two nights left. I think they should definitely reinforce regular fumigation, as bedbugs can happen even in five-star hotels—but prevention is key.

Overall, despite that issue, it was a good experience. The restaurant served very good food at fair prices. The pool area was always clean, and I appreciated the rules: no loud music, no smoking, and no excessive alcohol. It created a peaceful environment for families.

Final thoughts: This is one of the cheapest hotels in the area, so I didn’t come with high expectations—I came with an open mind. If you’re looking for basic amenities at a low price, it can work. Just make sure to check the beds for bedbugs as soon as you arrive.

We stay one night, we have early flight, it took us 10 minutes to get to the airport, the hotel has a big parking a plus for us because we have a rental car, the room ok for what we payed, it was clean and has a good a/c. The hotel it's in a very good location, nice view of the beach. Definitely will be our choice next time that we have a early flight.
