I just competed my stay at the colonnade. I would be remiss in not expressing the service I received upon check in at this hotel. On April 4, My initial encounter with, a representative who shall remain nameless was nothing short of disappointing. Upon check-in, I kindly asked that representative to please check if there were any available rooms for an early check in - little before 3pm. Check-in is at 4. I do understand that there is no guarantee for an early check in. In this case is even offered to pay for an upgraded room because I had an event to get ready for and I am always late so I truly wanted to get a head start to get ready. I have traveled the world and I know that there are always rooms that are ready and cleaned prior to the exact check-in time. This representative told me “No” I’ll give you a priority check in but just come back at 4. I asked how is this priority if you’re telling me to come back at the regular check in time and was there any way any room could be ready any earlier than 4? She told me no sorry. She even agreed that I should start getting ready in the lobby bathroom and told me next time I should book another night. I said book another night to check in just an hour later? Then she told me to come back when the manager is there in a few minutes at 3pm. I then walked over in the lobby and began calling other hotels I could go to because I felt so unheard, dismissed and unseen. It was my plan to try to cancel this stay and go anywhere else. But when I went back to the front desk to check for a manager an angel named Lilly was there at the desk instead. She asked me what the issue was and she jumped in to try to help me. She was like a shining star in darkness. She promptly looked into my issue and handled the situation with such grace and compassion. Lilly deserves a raise and a promotion. And then when I got to my room and had trouble with my key, Katerina in the 7th floor stepped in to help me! Lilly and Katerina are an asset to this hotel. The hotel is clean and my room is just what I needed. I had a wonderful time. Had it not been for Lilly, I would have fought to cancel my stay and go elsewhere and I would have left a 1 star review. Please promote Lilly!
The Colonnade was filled with positive, helpful staff throughout our stay and provided an excellent environment and food for our conference experience. Bonus? The ability to tip housekeeping via Venmo (I forgot my cash)! Really great stay!
Norman was amazing, delightful and pleasant. He instantly made my day better with compliments and feeling as I am the only person in the building.
This was a great hotel in a great location. The room was bright and airy. I love the floor to ceiling windows. Beds were comfortable. Lobby was relaxing to work in. The cafe room was a special treat.
There were very accommodating and made our check in easy. They handled a issue we had with a third party booking our reservation. They worked with this. I highly recommend them
There's a reason I've been going back to the Colonnade for many years. Between the staff the amazing rooms and location that is the place that I will always go back to.
Location is near to supermarket. Still accessible to other places.
Spectacular hotel - from the location, to the modern rooms, beautiful view, and amazing staff. This hotel stands out on every level. We have been to Boston many times, often staying at some of the bigger brand hotels. This hotel far exceeds the quality of those hotels in many ways. Every employee seemed to go the extra mile. Every little perk was amazing - they had a SNACK CLOSET with coffee, bottled water, pretzels and cookies. It's the little things. These may not cost them a lot, but they made a huge difference during our stay. We will be back!
I can’t recommend this hotel enough. A great experience. Warm and welcoming staff. (Shout out to Aidan, Michelle, and Norman!) Clean, comfy room. The rubber ducky for bath time was an adorable touch. Fabulous restaurant and bar off the lobby. And the lobby itself is chic and cool. The location is perfect. An easy walk to the shops and restaurants on Newbury and Boylston streets. We walked to Symphony Hall for a concert and strolled back for a nightcap at the bar. There’s a subway stop on the corner so quick transit to every destination. I’ll be back!!
Beautifully appointed and spacious rooms. Great location in the Back Bay, with many options for restaurants nearby however, Lucie's in the Colonnade offers a fantastic breakfast and dinner options.
Great location - Beautiful & spacious rooms - Friendly staff
Everything was top notch from start to finish. The room was perfect (ask for one facing Huntington Ave if you care about view). The staff was friendly and efficient. The meals at Lucie were very well prepared and not overpriced. The Collonade is just 2 blocks from Symphony Hall. HIGHLY recommend.
Nice rooms but small and old. Water pressure is uncomfortable. No microwaves whatsoever. Very difficult to eat comfortably with no microwaves. Ruined the whole experience.
Front desk staff was extremely welcoming out of the gate when we arrived. They were always so very pleasant during our stay. The hotel itself and rooms are very very clean even with a terrible winter storm blowing through. Impressive! For downtown Boston I thought the price of our room was very reasonable. The Lucie restaurant has excellent food and the hostess Lisa was so sweet and kind. Wish we could have stayed longer!
We had a great experience with our (large) dogs at the Colonnade. The staff were friendly and supportive, and the setup works well if you use hotel parking, because you can skip the lobby and take the dogs right up to your room. It's a nice place, very centrally located, and well maintained. Strongly recommend.
Two gentlemen Aidan and Adam were very good to me and made sure my stay was comfy
Norman was TREMENDOUS! My husband and I stayed for two nights and had the fortunate opportunity to interact with Norman on multiple occasions. He embraced service with a smile and was courteous, invested in assuring our questions were answered well and would offered us appropriate suggestions on getting to our destinations. The hotel did not disappoint and we agreed that we will make this our ‘go to’ Boston home!
The Boston Colonnade Hotel is well-appointed, with top-notch customer service, and is in an excellent location. The rooms are ample in size and feature comfortable beds, contemporary bathroom fixtures, a refrigerator, a safe, and chairs. We were looking out toward the South End, which is not the “usual preferred view”, but was a welcome view all the same.
We can’t say enough about the front desk staff. They are among the best we’ve ever encountered. Each person went out of their way – figuring out logistics, getting my husband water when he returned from a run, and opening the coffee area when I was searching for a cup. Unlike some of the busier area hotels, you won’t feel like a number or have to wait in long lines.
Steps from the Prudential Center and the historic Christian Science Plaza, the Colonnade is conveniently located for walking to restaurants, shops, the Public Garden, and the Theatre District. You’ll also be able to hop on the T to get to other Boston attractions.
If you’re heading to Boston, check out the Colonnade. You won’t be disappointed.
My wife and I love this hotel we stay here every year in January on our work trip to the US and we absolutely love it. Clean and well kept, great service and wonderful to be right next to the Prudential center for all the shows and restaurants.
This is one of my favorite hotels in Back Bay. The staff is lovely, the rooms are spacious and very clean. They have a spacious bar and restaurant on premises. The location is terrific. Consistently great experience. Will stay here again soon!
