It was a decent motel/hotel and the property is very well maintained. I'd stayed at a different place on the way up and on the way down, that property wanted more than double. It was labor day weekend and this just fit the bill.
It was our kid's first experience with a hotel and they loved it, very whimsical with the mill and gardens. Our daughter thought the restaurant was very posh and was so excited to have crayons to color with.
Wish it was a little more affordable but that's more because of our own finances.
The gardens, linen, beds, room furniture and bathroom were super comfortable and lovely. The restaurant's breakfast and lunch menu have sufficient variety to please all. The prices are competitive. This is a perfect place for a honeymoon. They offer afternoon apple cider, cookies upon check in, and a wine tasting during happy hour.

Amazing and charming great price

Having our own personal back garden deck with tables, chairs and string lights was delightful along with the French back door for access. Kept the back door open for all that fresh air! The restaurant provided heartly breakfast choices, we ate all our breakfasts there during our stay. Restaurant staff were very personable. We felt like we made new friends right off the bat. The hotel staff were so nice, and you could tell that everyone from maintenace to the front desk attendent had a friendly working relationship. Complimentary hot cider, coffee and hot water for tea were available throughout the entire night as well as some tasty chocolate chip cookies. The desk notebook binder with local information was very helpful. We enjoyed our three night stay very much.
Room: There was a lack of bathroom counter space for personal items in our Trellis Section A room. But this is to be expected with a small bathroom. A bathroom cup would have been convenient. Restaurant: Perhaps a larger selection of breakfast omelettes would be a nice added touch to the breakfast menu. Arriving to SLO by train, we did very much appreciate that there was a breakfast and lunch restaurant located at the Apple Farm Inn.

Staff and hotel was amazing I will definitely be back, my girlfriends and I were celebrating a birthday! Super close to downtown for dinner and drinks, stayed on the second floor (room 205) had a perfect view of the water mill which we could hear with our windows open, loved our stay! Plus cookies on arrival
Only bummer was some yard work started at 9 am but I believe they were painting the parking lot so it looked fresh, house keeping also started to vaccum at 9 am right outside our door but that’s all to be expected for a mid week stay
