SkyCity Hotel

Extremely unhelping and strict communication of their customer service, we made a mistake with our booking (kids running around us, you know how it goes) and contacted them within minutes to see if they could help us out, but they where absolutely unwilling to help us change or cancel our booking. They have a service desk that handles multiple hotel (chains), so don't expect any humanity if you want to change something in your booking.

Very nice hotel with numerous restaurants and a casino. Short walk to Viaduct wharf with many more restaurants. Some noise can be heard at night of room is on street side. Elevators can be tricky as one swt for VIP only and other set for regular guests.

My wife and I stopped overnight at Skycity, (our first time), being our accommodation while we attended the Military Tattoo. What really made our stay there such an awesome experience was an employee of Skycity called 'Dicky'. Dicky made us feel like one of the family. His exceptional, professional service that he provided us made our stay that much more enjoyable. From the moment we arrived and were struggling with finding our way into the car park, to organising the security and delivery of our bags to our room, to checking in with us on our departure to make sure all was okay with our stay, Dicky made us feel unconditionally welcomed. We thank Dicky for his kindness and wished there were more people like him in this world.

We had the most wonderful stay .They offered a upgrade free but we were more than happy with our room 🥰So central to everything had a wonder down Queen st .Sat at the Lovley little pop up food truck out the
front and had a couple of wine's. Caught the bus up to the north next day which leaves from the side of sky Tower. So convenient

TL;DR… AVOID. TERRIBLE ROOMS.

The room temperature was over 25C (77.5F) and VERY humid when we checked into the FIRST room. The thermostat was set to 19C (67F) upon arrival, indicating to me that it was broken. I called this in. “We’ll send someone to fix it”, was the response. They sent someone… who changed the setpoint to 17C (67F). THAT DOESN”T FIX a broken AC! I called back and said it was BROKEN, and I needed a new room. They gave me a new room, which was slightly cooler. We were able to sleep. NEXT NIGHT, SAME THING in this new room. I could not get the AC to cool the room below 25.3C (77F). I needed sleep, so we just beared it for the night. It was a 2-night stay.

Bottom line:
The AC is multiple room is either broken OR (quite possibly) shuts down when you are not in the room (and we were out all day). All we wanted was a decently cool temperature, like 22-23C (72-73F) but we could not get this.

Staff didn’t care. Manager didn’t care. AVOID THIS HOTEL.

We arrived early at 8:30 in the morning. Although we arrived so early, our room was already prepared. This made possible to use the whole day of arrival in Auckland after a quick shower. We appreciate this so much after our 24 hours flight with our kids.

Had an amazing 2 nights with my little family in the upgraded Premium Twin @ Skycity Hotel. As a small birthday staycation. Well taken care of, clean facilities and awesome staff. We had a few requests during our stay and they were attended to without delay. Especially Tae at the front desk. Ensured a smooth experience with it being so busy around us. Would definitely stay here again!

Peter & Tokire was so friendly and kind when our large family unceremoniously exited the car. Quickly organising our bags and sorting the valet parking. The hotel room was very clean and tidy. Felt like it was reasonably good value for money.

I spent three nights at SkyCity. Loved my room. The staff were friendly and attentive. A small treat left in the room from Aiden the concierge. Will definitely stay again.

From the moment we arrived we felt special. The suite was set up so well for kids with games, fun beds and kiddie bedding. The adults room was amazing and the bed so comfy. The gym was the best I’ve seen in any hotel gym in the world - I used it twice in less than 24 hours. Can’t wait to stay again !!!!

Absolutely loved our stay! Beautiful room with a beautiful view. Loved the big bed. The people were absolutely lovely and helpful! Loved the idea of the casino in the same building! Well definitely be back

Senior Concierge Aiden’s lovely note and surprise set the tone for a wonderful stay at Skycity to celebrate my 50th.
The valet, concierge and housekeeping teams along with the check out receptionist went above and beyond to make us feel so welcome. Aiden’s communications were warm, professional and so helpful, he is someone who strongly cares about the customer experience and makes a great impression.
The room was lovely, the casino and complex great but the real treasure is the staff in the areas mentioned above. Thanks so much

Aiden Senior Concierge & Guest Relations Executive is exceptional in all he does, well respected by everyone and such a Professional.
Well situated for the City, great eating places in Federal Street. Excellent parking. The rooms are so very comfortable very clean Housekeeping do a good job love the Hand & Bath lotions ..Also not forgetting The Reservations department who are so helpful when dealing with so many calls night & day..Already looking forward to my next visit. Big Thank you to you all. 😊

We had a fantastic experience thanks to Sarah at SkyCity. She was incredibly helpful and quickly sorted an issue with changing one of our rooms from a king to a twin, which meant my sister and I didn’t have to share a bed. It made such a difference to our stay — we both had a great night’s sleep! Sarah was professional, friendly, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was right for us. Excellent customer service. The room was lovely, beds comfy and lovely clean showers - would book again.

Very impressed with the warmth, friendliness, and professional service from the reception and concierge team. For such a large hotel they surprised us with how well they handled our individual needs. Will definitely recommend to friends coming from overseas and fellow kiwis. Thanks for a great stay!

All staff were friendly and accommodating, especially Tae who checked us in early. All facilities in our room were spotless and we had everything we needed for the duration of our stay.

Highly recommend!

Stayed at skycity with our daughter for her first concert. The service was awesome. It was super busy but all the staff took great care of us. We left a message when we booked that it was a present for our daughter and they left a balloon and chocolates and we were picked as guest of the day and upgraded rooms. My husband on crutches also struggled and all the staff offered help and where awesome.

It’s our daughter’s birthday they have surround the room with special messages to her, leave a few gifts !
We also received ticket to the sky tower to the whole family ( we are family of 6)

Great experience and superb staff! Facilities really nice and location is perfect. Hopefully to stay longer next time. Will surely check the casino.
