We were disappointed to stay here. Angel and Monica are very friendly and helpful and the food was simple and tasty, but apart from that, the stay left a lot to be desired. No wifi in our room and the generator for the electricity ran incredibly loudly all night. There are not enough sun beds in the shade for all guests, they are grotty and broken, and unlike the photos there are no umbrellas. The garden and property could do with a lot of work to bring in line with alternatives on the island. The room was very basic and towels were not changed during our stay.
If you’re looking for a place that feels completely cut off from the world, peaceful, with a splendid view, where you can finally take the time to read that book you’ve been meaning to read for ages, and with discreet but absolutely lovely staff, this is the place.
You mainly come here to relax on a sun lounger overlooking the sea. A paddleboard is available, and you can book boat trips or scuba-diving excursions right next door.
There is no air conditioning, but there is a welcome fan. This also means that the birds can come and perch nearby, while you watch the crabs and pelicans. The island moves at its own peaceful pace, far from the tourist hotels of Isla Grande.
I highly recommend bringing closed-toe water shoes! The coral is not far away.
It's quiet and you are greeted by a lovely staff. Food is delicious and great variety.
Staff was really nice, and it was generally a nice quiet place.
Curtains were very dirty
This is a difficult place to rate, but after spending two days there and going to Isla Grande, we would have not chosen differently. The sandy access to the sea is a big advantage that many nearby hotels lack. The proximity of the corals on the other side is great too. There are a lot of sun-beds on both sides and not a lot of people in hotel which gives a very calm vibe. Check in was available early (around 12). Other reviews gave us a very realistic overview of what is to be expected. This is not a fancy hotel. You go there to disconnect, slow down and enjoy the sea. The host is very kind and helpful. Also, although there is no AC we slept well during the night and it wasn't too hot.
The nets in the windows is very very dusty and dirty. The fan too, hasn't been cleaned for a while. Filtered water is not available until you specifically ask for it (it would be nice if it was more accessible). Also (but this is applicable to other hotels in the vicinity too) keep in mind that it costs 210,000 pesos per person to get to the island and back. The food is very expensive (45,000 for the cheapest option, the same options for lunch and dinner) and there is only one small shop. We would strongly advise to buy some snacks in Cartagena to bring with you.
