Breakfast was good

Although we only stayed one night, the place was charming and was very nice. There were no light pollution around, and it felt like the perfect place to view the northern Lights. Unfortunately, the night we stayed, it was very cloudy. The staff was great! Very helpful. We loved the personalized service during breakfast. The mountains and ocean view was great! We highly recommend this place.

We got the room with the ocean view, and we had a nice sitting area on a wood deck overlooking the ocean. Breakfast was wonderful and the selection was great. One of the friendly staff shared with us that we could hike behind the hotel up a hill and it overlooked a beautiful lake with two glaciers as we crossed the top!! we walked back along a little stream, which was the spillway for the glacier Lake and came upon a black sand hill that was like a gorge between two mountains as we hiked. This was one of the great places we stayed in Iceland.

Very clean and large rooms. The staff, especially Paulina, were very friendly and helpful. The view is fantastic.

Staff was excellent. Room was clean. Breakfast was a nice spread with a scrambled egg, breads, meats & cheeses. This is a good basic hotel. I would stay here again if I were coming back to Vic.

A small and intimate hotel about 15 minutes from the black sand beach near Vik. A bit isolated but quiet and convenient stop on the ring road with great food (dinner, which you have to reserve ahead and the main is a choice between char, lamb and a salad), yummy cheese board and the food was cooked well and tasty. Good breakfast selection although we did not know we could have gotten freshly scrambled eggs until we had filled up on the other breakfast choices. Spacious room with deck which would have been great to see an aurora from but unfortunately not during our stay. Shower could have been bigger, only negative.

I have no idea how this “hotel” is highly rated. We had a very strong smell of urine in our room that wouldn’t go away. We encountered many spiders and flies in the room and near windows. Staff are not pleasant to deal with.

We stayed 1 night @ the property. The room is big, the bed is comfortable, the shower is big & good shower. The breakfast is good, with scramble eggs, croissant, toast & others. We had a good start @ the property.

Add more protein fkr the breakfast like sausage bacon.

The room was large, clean and a great location. Breakfast was great and staff was great.

The exterior of the building looked like a tired old motel, we joked that it reminded us of Schitt’s Creek. However, we learned at check in that the building was once a school and the seven rooms (apparently each a classroom) were very spacious - plenty of room to spread out. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, shower in bathroom was tiny. Staff members were friendly. Breakfast include delicious home made breads and scrambled eggs. As for the exterior, as we traveled through the area we realized that most buildings looked similar.

Sara is the ABSOLUTE best - national treasure of Iceland. Do yourself a favor and stay here so you can experience her dinner and breakfast and general amazingness.

The room was clean and modern. The staff did a good job of check in and breakfast.
Best was the location for exploring the area both on the beach and the glacier.
We were happy with our choice.

Breakfast was ok. Bread was not refilled at 9:22am while bteakfast was until 10:00am

Very limited breakfast’s options and the shower room is uncomfortable, plus toilet is not clean especially inside the bowl!

Absolutely loved staying at the volcano hotel! The room was clean, modern, comfortable. Breakfast was so good! Staff was wonderful.

Perfect for us. Not fancy, but a good place to eat dinner and sleep.
