Location
Great location. Very good breakfast
I stayed at Four Seasons One Dalton Street as a tourist, with one night before traveling to Mexico City and five nights upon my return. During that second stay, I truly experienced Boston, and this hotel felt like home.
The front desk team, especially Haley and Josh, were warm, professional, and extremely helpful. They assisted me with planning my days, suggested walkable neighborhoods, and recommended excellent restaurants, which greatly enhanced my experience of the city.
The cocktail bar became part of my daily routine. After spending my days walking and exploring Boston, I would return to the hotel in the evening to unwind for an hour or so at the bar. Adela, Hannah, and Kat were fantastic, always recommending great drinks and sharing helpful tips on places to see and explore.
The doormen and front door team were consistently kind and welcoming. The room was spacious, comfortable, and excellent value for a Four Seasons in this location.
Although Boston was very cold during my stay, it never felt too cold to walk. With proper layering, the city is extremely walkable. I explored Beacon Hill, Boston Common, Newbury Street, Boylston Street, and more entirely on foot.
Boston is now my favorite city in the U.S., and as a tourist, whenever I visit the United States again, I will definitely return to Boston and stay at Four Seasons One Dalton Street.
Nothing.
very modern hotel. the service was great and the staff was very friendly. the breakfast was very good und our room had a great view. It was the best hotel we stayed in the USA yet. It really is five stars like in europe or asia.
While the staff was lovely and service was as expected, we were very disappointed in our stay. The Wednesday night we stayed was at the higher end of the room rates listed but we were very excited for our stay. I received several texts asking if we had any requests and our time of arrival prior to the date. I advised we would arrive by 1 pm and the hotel responded that they could hold our bags until the guaranteed 3 pm check in time. We ate lunch at Zuma and I had not heard anything by 3 pm. I went to the desk and was told that our room would not be ready until 5 pm. We had plans to meet my daughter at 5 for a pre dinner drink so I had to reschedule to a later time. We were there for her birthday and rearranging plans last minute after we had planned ahead was disappointing. Other than that an over night fire alarm woke and kept us awake. We came home tired and let down. Again the staff was very accommodating and the desk waived a $38 charge for morning coffee because of the inconvenience. I wish they had offered a bit more for the cost of the room.
I am unclear how this property is functioning with the four seasons badge. There appears to be many staff but there is a lack of communication training and service provision. I had some very poor experience with breakfast with lack of structure and server servers but not single one to serve! some rather odd conversation from the servers asking why I had finished all my water and why I had finished food quickly, let’s say someone needs to give some gebeal training as it is failing a brand . Badly. Should have gone to the mandarin!
I’m not sure the last time I stayed at self designated 5 star hotel, where requests for assistance with provided services fell into an echo chamber on multiple occasions, and the stay felt equivalent to that of pedestrian hotel facility, but for multiple of price. No doubt, it is a nice facility, but we are not there to appreciate the flower arrangements. I had sent a message for requested accommodations (name of co-guest, request for clothes steamer, and request for assistance in spa bookings) 2 days before checking in. The front desk assistant clearly had none of this data upon check in; and did in fact mention they would “reach out” to me for assistance with those “later”. I had not heard from anyone at the hotel for my short 24hrs that I spent there to assist with anything that I had asked for one two occasions. I don’t mind making my own spa appointments the day I am there, but who can promise the schedule availability same day?. Perhaps only redeeming fact was the door man’s smile, otherwise, felt like ignored ghosts the entirety of my stay at 1 Dalton; and for that special hospitality feeling, I could be staying at an Airbnb.
Honestly no matter what I say is not enough to show my appreciation , this hotel is worth every penny I spent. .Amazing service ,clean ,helpful sweet staff ,accommodating and helpful .Thank you all for making my visit one of a kind .
