DO NOT BOOK HERE: A Complete Breakdown in Service, Safety, and Basic Management
Pros:

If you are planning a trip to Nashville, especially for a convention at the Gaylord, do yourself a favor and book literally anywhere else. My stay at the Hyatt Place Hotel Opryland/Nashville from July 6th to July 11th was such an unmitigated disaster that I checked out early.

This hotel charges premium rates while delivering a sub-hostel experience, completely failing to provide the basic amenities they advertise.

The Safety Hazard: Broken Room Phones
Your room phone is your direct line to help in an emergency. In my room, the phone was completely non-functional. When I tried calling the front desk, they couldn't hear a word. Their "solution"? A front desk attendant had to physically walk up to my room just to ask why I was calling. If I had experienced a medical or safety emergency, this system failure could have been catastrophic. It is a massive liability.

The Shuttle Bait-and-Switch (And a Hilarious Excuse)
I specifically booked this hotel because they advertised a complimentary shuttle to the Gaylord Convention Center. Upon arrival, I was told the shuttle was non-operational. When I asked why, staff informed me that the shuttle driver had gone into labor. While I wish the driver a healthy delivery, pregnancy lasts nine months. The fact that management had nearly a year to plan coverage for a key advertised amenity and instead just let the service collapse is mind-blowing.
• The Cost to Me: I had to pay out-of-pocket for round-trip Uber rides to the convention center for four straight days.
• The Hotel’s Response: Absolute silence. The hotel made zero effort to reimburse or compensate me for these unexpected transit costs.
No Orange/Apple Juice, No Warning, and Filthy Facilities

Deceptive Construction: The hotel completely failed to advise guests beforehand that they were undergoing construction.
• Filthy Elevators: The elevators were constantly disgusting and covered in grime.

The "Complimentary" Breakfast Joke: I selected this hotel partially for the complimentary breakfast. As someone who does not drink coffee, I rely on juice. For three out of the five days of my stay, they served absolutely no juice. If you can’t manage to keep juice in stock, don’t market a "breakfast included" rate.

Absentee Management: Kirstan Luttmann
The absolute worst part of this experience was the total lack of accountability. The General Manager, Kirstan Luttmann, was completely absent.
• She was not onsite for the entire duration of my stay (July 6th – July 11th).
• I have reached out via both phone and email to address these severe gaps in service.
• She has not cared enough to return a single call or reply to a single email.

Final Verdict
I am a World of Hyatt Member and have stayed in Hyatt Hotels at various levels around the world. This property is plagued by filthy facilities, broken safety equipment, nonexistent communication, and a management team that hides from its guests. Save your money, protect your safety, and stay elsewhere.

Good experience
Pros:

My daughter and I had a good experience at this hotel. As a World of Hyatt member, it is what I expected from a Hyatt Place property. The hotel is undergoing renovations on the 2nd and 3rd floors, and only has one working elevator. If you want to stay in a newly renovated room, request a room on the 4th or 5th floors.

Very disappointed especially for the cost!
Pros:

The room was spacious and seemed clean. However the sheets had holes in them, the furniture felt tacky, there was noise all night long from some equipment on the roof, the pool was closed because "a couple of tiles had come loose"; definitely not worth the price.
The hotel staff were very pleasant and attentive which is the reason we give it 2 stars instead of 1.

Nice Staff But A Terrible Experience
Pros:

During my visit to the Hyatt Place in Nashville/Opryland, I experienced ongoing construction work within the building, hammering throughout the day starting before 8:00am, one working ice machine in 5 floors of hotel, and a pool I couldn't use because the pool had yet to receive it's final inspection (as of mid-June). As a construction worker, the last thing I was to see while on vacation is dust/drywall debris strewn throughout the building, scaffolding in the lobby with overhead work, purple insulation board covering up elevator walls, passenger elevators being taken up by trash offloading... On the rare occasion I get to take time off work, the last place I want to be is at an ongoing project site. Had I been told about any of these issues before arrival, I would have chosen another hotel in the area to have a better experience.

Overall a great place, once it gets finished
Pros:

The location to the grand old opry, the interstate, and downtown was perfect! Great location to visit different areas of Nashville without the hustle and bustle of being downtown.

Cons:

The breakfast bar was horrible!!! Also they are doing construction in the hotel, and it's super loud and dirty in certain areas. The elevators were disgusting.

BE FOREWARNED
Pros:

Cordial front desk staff conspire in deceit. For us it involved the swimming pool. At check-in told the pool filter just repaired, so pool shocked now & will reopen tomorrow a.m.
9 a.m. next day “pool guy” said he’d have open at noon. Just after noon, pool still closed so front desk guy went in to check with his manager. He then explained that pool was closed due to a broken pipe! Later in the day after a front desk shift change, new guy said they were trying to make the pool safe for use by balancing the chemicals. Next a.m. at check-out, another front desk person told us that the pool had been closed for awhile due to a broken pipe.
Weighed the negativity for a week before posting. We stayed here to enjoy a pool day with temps over 90 degrees, so we felt this warranted.

How have you failed me? Let me count the ways.
Pros:

Stains on our room carpet, a stain and wet spot on our couch, a toilet seat that doesn’t stay up, a pool that’s closed for repairs with no warning online, a lobby bathroom with no toilet paper, and construction on the floor above us until 10:30 at night. The employees are very nice and seem genuinely disappointed with the state of the property. They also extended my check out time and offered me some free toiletries. But this is Hyatt. Regional management needs to do better, especially for those of us who trust the brand.
