Lobby and main areas were very nice. The room was not.
The suite was not clean. It smelled musty. The furniture was beat up and couch smelled as well. The bathroom shower drain backed up. We were only passing through for one night. I would not choose them again
The rooms were very clean and comfortable. It was very quiet.
The breakfast was very lacking. Not much to choose from.
Nice proximity to our events for the time we were there

Room was nice
Room was hot AC wouldn't go below 66 degrees I am a middle aged woman so I get hot at night and need it cold to sleep. There is no staff at night after I think 11pm
The complimentary breakfast was a bright spot and probably the only part of the stay worth mentioning.
I called ahead to arrange a pack and play for my child and it wasn't in the room when we arrived. The front desk handed it to us and told us to bring it up ourselves. When we set it up, the mattress was filthy and visibly stained. No sheets were provided for the pack and play or the sofa bed, and when I called to ask for them, I was told to come down and get them myself. The sofa bed was so worn out my kids couldn't sleep on it and ended up in our bed in the middle of the night, which made booking a suite completely pointless. The toilet was unusually low and uncomfortable for any normal-sized adult. The double bed was smaller than standard and not fit for two adults.
We escalated directly to Hilton, and the response was essentially a shrug. We were told they're not a full-service hotel, don't have enough staff, and that the owners are already aware of the property's condition. If the owners know and haven't fixed it, that says everything.
As what i would class as 3* it was good value for money.
The location was excellent and although just off of a main road, it was very quiet in-room.
Breakfast had a fairly good choice of items, waffles, oatmeal, fruit etc.
There is a small outdoor pool which wasn't open during our stay.
Parking was free, which makes a refreshing change.
We found the staff very friendly and helpful.
Nothing to complain about at all.
Convenience
The bed mattress was not comfortable
Avoid at all cost -- cancelled room on us upon arrival at 10pm on night of stay after booking 45 days in advance and being checked in online with digital room key already activated. The person called us earlier that evening and asked if the room we booked was a must and we said yes which is why we booked so far in advance and traveling with four children and said ok see you when you arrive. No indication they would cancel on us. We were treated like criminals and compared to being homeless by the mentally deranged front desk clerk. He finally quit talking to me when I said all we want us what we booked and paid for and when wife tried to talk with him he wouldn't let her speak kept talking over her and by that point I had had it and did tell him to shut up and let her speak ... Instead of fixing the problem he continually babbled nonsense and wouldn't address the fact to we had booked paid for and checked into the room and his solution was to move us to a regular room at another hotel ... and then when my wife asked questions he's like I'm done I'm doing nothing he would have her escorted out of the hotel. We've stayed in hundreds of hotels and this is the worst experience ever. Berated, told us it was our fault they overbooked and cancelled our room and tried to move us without telling us then threatened to call the cops after questioning and stated we had booked and paid for a 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom room. Called corporate and they called the hotel and he completely brushed the corporate rep off and then when another clerk walked in he just walked out of the hotel. The second clerk was extremely nice and apologetic and did his best to help us but the entire event was a disaster and we ended up paying more money for two rooms down hall from each other (we were traveling for a single night and had all of our stuff with us in a single bag) with same number of beds and baths as the room we originally booked (even though the first clerk said there was nothing for us). I am hopeful the manager and owners will rectify this situation as it ruined the beginning of our trip
This is by far the worst experience we have ever experienced with Homewood suites. The nightmare began Tuesday March 10th, After making numerous phone calls to the front desk I decided to walk down and ask for towels, of course her appearance she looked to be in housekeeping she was sitting on the side walk smoking cigarettes or drug’s very slurred speech , had to argue with her about towels, she stated that I did not get services today , I told her I am entitled to towels . I told her that the bathroom light was not working ( maintenance is off today) meaning we have to use the bathroom in the dark. This experience is unacceptable. Her behavior should not be tolerated which does not represent Hilton.
The Receptionist and Staff were great.
The phone did not work in the room ( safety violation).
The breakfast was OK, better than many. The person working the breakfast was very nice and welcoming.
I suppose the property could use a little updating but the lady at the desk, I believe her name was Kim, was perfect and her restaurant recommendation turned out to be excellent. She is a gracious, charming woman. Wish we encountered more people like her.
