Disappointing Stay After Great Past Experiences
Pros:

I booked a 3-night stay for my family at Royal Hotel West, which has always been our go to place because of our great previous experiences. Unfortunately, this recent stay was quite disappointing. I requested a top floor room to avoid footstep noise. However, we were assigned a room right next to the elevator without being asked if that was okay. Our first night turned into a nightmare. There was nonstop noise between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. The ice maker kept refilling, people were coming from the bar and loudly gathering near the elevator—talking, shouting, and running in the hallway. To make things worse, the air conditioning in our room was so loud it sounded like an airplane taking off. The next morning, I requested to move to another room. Emma and Mina from the front desk were very understanding and handled our request graciously. Unfortunately, the new room also had issues as there was a lot of hair on the bed, and the sheets were obviously crinkled, suggesting they hadn’t been changed. When I brought this up to the supervisor, she said it was from the laundry and didn’t offer to replace the bedding, which was disappointing. After that, the rest of our stay was peaceful, and we were finally able to rest well. On a positive note, the breakfast staff were fantastic, very polite, attentive, and the breakfast itself was delicious. The dining area’s ambiance was also wonderful, which helped end our stay on a better note.

Overall, while we’ve loved Royal Hotel West in the past, this experience fell short of expectations. I hope the management addresses these issues so guests can once again enjoy the level of comfort the hotel is known for.
