Very impersonal
Location was very good
There was a function on. The noise was awful. We were located right above the function room. We was not alerted that there maybe noise. Not happy. Upon knowing that there was a function they should of located us away from room not above
Facaitly
The hotel was very clean and tidy, the rooms were cosy, and the beds were so comfy, perfect after a long day's travelling. The staff went out of their way to help us with our needs, we would definitely recommend it to others and stay there again
Nothing to not like
It has a nice pool and spa, also the lobby area is quite nice and comfortable. The mattress was also firm and comfortable.
We travelled with a 6 months old baby and asked Novotel to provide a baby cot for her. The baby cot was a travel cot with no mattress, we were supposed to pay our baby down on a slate of some plastic like material covered with synthetic fabric (similar to what camping tents are made of). That’s it, no additional sheets, no additional padding… this was shocking and extremely upsetting. When we complained, the staff provided an extra duvet which we folded on top and put the baby there. She was anyways uncomfortable and kept waking up every half an hour.
It would be completely unreasonable to ask any adult, teenager or child to sleep in such surface and I do wonder why Novotel think it’s ok for a baby to do so.
I suggest you review your policy around this area because babies are also human beings and deserve to be treated accordingly.
Stayed here for the Southampton Marathon. Room was a standard hotel fare, which was good. No air-con, but we knew that beforehand. Desk staff were friendly. We didnt use the facilities, so cant comment. Was close to where we wanted to be for the weekend.
Noisy neighbours werent ideal, but this isnt the hotels fault. And there is no mention of a pool on the listing, so we didnt bring our swimmers.... but when booking in we were told there was a pool. Not the end of the world, but a touch disappointing.
breakfast was too expensive at £18.00 each. there was 6 of us.
see above
why is it in this modern age usb ports are not on both side of the bed to charge phones?
Breakfast very good and good value.
Everything
Nothing
Everything
Nothing to dislike
We opted to have breakfast and there were always tables available, I saw one morning that they had opened up the room so more tables were available. We liked watching the pancakes being made and loved that they would always be freshly prepared. There was a good selection of hot and cold items for breakfast, the mini pastries were so cute. The breakfast should have enough variety of items to suit everyone's desires. I was glad the hotel provided fans due to no air con in the building. I liked that there were enough pillows for my liking in the room. Fairly convenient location, close to public transport links.
There were few disabled parking bays and they were always in use when we tried parking. It would have been nice to have a few more disabled bays and I only saw 2 EV charging bays for 3 hotels, as there are more EV vehicles on the road, I think the hotels may want to request more EV charging bays in future. The bed was not as comfortable as I would have liked, I prefer a firmer mattress.
Excellent location
Location - right next to the docks.
Swimming pool - small but fantastic for kids.
Sauna - very helpful after the marathon.
The sofa bed wasn't comfortable. But the bed itself is firm and was great sleep.
Good location for the port
Rooms were not in good condition. USB ports missing, lights that didn’t work in the room, bed very hard! Requested adjoining room 5months prior to stay which I didn’t get and was met with a shoulder shrug when they said well I should of requested sooner
