Disappointing and not good value for money.
Pros:

Not a lot, but was close the the main shopping centre.

Cons:

Room was not Executive. It was tired had a musky smell, no AC and a small bed. There was only one towel in the room as there is no phone in the room I had to go down to reception where I was handed a towel so rough that I could have sanded wood. Breakfast was acceptable.

We did not experience hospitality in responding to accommodation he needs of our family.
Cons:

I booked the room for myself, my husband and adult children as we were all assembling in Southampton from different places for my daughter's MSc graduation. I indicated on booking.com that we needed a room for 4 adults and it showed Novotel as an option. After arriving very tired from an overnight flight I was told that the family sharing the room was not possible as only 3 adults could share. This was not apparent during booking. I therefore had to book an additional room at my expense, in top of the major expenses of this trip. There was more than enough room in the Novotel room for four adults.
Additionally I tried to book early checkin in advance as I was arriving in Gatwick at 6:30 am. This was not responded to positively despite my willingness to pay the extra fees, and I had to wait fir hours in a state of exhaustion rather than resting and getting ready for my daughter's graduation.

Pros:

We really enjoyed the hotel; we booked it for the night before our cruise. Everything was as promised: a 5-minute walk to the terminal, a large supermarket, and the train station nearby. The room was large and spacious, very comfortable, clean, and convenient.

Cons:

Bedroom was too hot, just one small fan, very hot weather and in the cool of the evening, windows only opened a few inches, then kept creaking. Plus a duvet on the bed, so hot! Took it out of its cover. Asked for early check in, they said they would see what they could do. Arrived and it is £10 an hour, room was ready but still charged, no leeway at all. Booked an executive double for one person, hate to think what a regular double is like. Have learned my lesson with Novotel, never again.

Good enough if you just wanna rest a night or two. Don't expect too much from it.
Pros:

Location was very convenient.

Cons:

The room had a very odd smell. Wasn't super clean and looked like it needed some refurbishment.

Nice stay
Pros:

Hotel was lovely and clean. Staff were excellent. Very close to cruise ship. Swimming pool was lovely and a great extra.
