Free breakfast, which offered a good range of food. Very friendly and helpful staff, were very knowledgeable and went out their way to help.. Rooms were clean and bed comfortable. Although gym was closed, given free access to local YMCA gym and pool.
Room was quite dark (had to have lights on all the time) and the air conditioning unit was quite loud, even on lowest fan setting.
Rien en travaux
En travaux pas séjourné refus de rembourser
accessible to shoppers and restaurants
Close to downtown, friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Room close to the elevator, when elevator functions noisy in the morning. Broken toster and table need to be fixed in the breakfast room
Beds and pillows were soft. Staff was very pleasant and facilities clean
No access to pool or hot tub on premise since hotel is under construction. They did offer to reimburse you if you wanted to go to the YMCA. Which might be a bonus for some but I would rather have my pool onsite
The beds were very comfortable and the location is great for nightlife/events walkability.
The bathroom hand soap was empty, no water in the fridge, room door would only slam shut. Front desk staff at check in seemed rushed and irritated even though it was not busy at the time.
Easy check in and out
Stuck by a lift all night that kept us awake. Most facilities were being renovated
stayed at this hotel from May 23 to May 26, having booked several weeks in advance through Booking.com.
On the morning of my arrival, I received an email informing me that major refurbishment works would begin on May 25. According to the hotel itself, guests could expect dust, noise, disruption, and a lack of running water in guest rooms during parts of the afternoons.
This information was provided far too late for me to make alternative arrangements. When I contacted Booking.com, they were unable to offer a solution. Upon arrival, I expressed my concerns to the front desk, but was told that the refurbishment notice had been displayed on the website for a long time. The fact that I had booked my room via Booking made no difference.
Since my stay, I have requested a partial refund because the hotel experience differed significantly from what I had booked and paid for. Unfortunately, the hotel manager has so far refused, stating that he first needs to conduct a "deep inquiry into the matter and circumstances."
My concern is not the refurbishment itself, but the fact that guests were informed only hours before arrival about substantial disruptions that were clearly known in advance. Future guests may wish to clarify whether any construction work is planned before booking.
Location, front desk!
Breakfast, repairs, noise
Room was nice decent air conditioning, bed was comfortable balcony was nice to have
Didn't like how we weren't informed about the pool being closed for maintenance, the breakfast was insanely dry probably the worst breakfast I've ever had at a hotel, wouldn't even give me a discount for the misinformation definitely not a hotel I'd stay at again.
This was our second stay in 6 months as it's a good location and reasonably price.
However, the hotel is currently in the middle of a renovation and unfortunately, this impacted our stay immediately. The room we were originally allocated smelled strongly of paint thinner from the renovation immediately below. Once settled, in a different room, we did find the bed comfortable. We were concerned about security as the elevators have no keycard restrictions, meaning anyone can walk in off the street and access all guest floors, if there was no-one on the front desk.
Breakfast was nothing special. We stuck to tea, coffee, yogurt, and toast, as nothing else looked worth eating.
The hotel's biggest attraction is its convenient location, which is perfect for getting downtown or to the University. Hopefully, the hotel will be much better when the renovation is completed.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful
Not forgetting
how clean and comfortable it was
Everything
It was a great spot as our base in Edmonton. It was clean and convenient to Commonwealth stadium. We were able to grab some food and drinks at one of the many pubs .
