I booked an ambassdaor Suite for two nights as a Platinum member via Hilton App. More or less everything was a disappointment during this stay.
- Check-in took very long and the person at the front desk wasn't overly friendly.
- The so-called "Ambassador Suite" was basically a huge but normal room without any separation (neither by furniture nor by a wall) between sleeping and seating area.
- The room had a bad smell, likely from the old carpeted floor.
- It was ice cold, outside and inside, and the thermostat allowed to increase the existing temperature by three degrees(!) However, the air from the AC remained cold and the room was freezing. After a lengthy discussion at the front desk they sent an employee who then organized a small fan heater.
- Furniture was old.
- The bath had a tiny shower cabin.
- The breakfast was poor.
- The main entrance (revolving door) was closed ("maintenance").
- Before arrival I received a weird email from the hotel that suggested to take public transportation and park and ride, instead of coming by car.
I complained and asked at the front desk to let me check out after one night instead of the initially booked two nights. It was a flexible rate with cancellation until one day before. They didn't want to let me go and insisted on a penalty charge for earlier departure. I would have paid exactly the same sum for two nights if I had made two separate flexible bookings for one night each, instead of one flexible booking for two nights. At other hotels, it was possible to leaver earlier due to changes in the business schedule, but here they argued a lot. Finally they let me go after one night without a penalty. Since the room was very cold, I wouldn't have expected a sincere apology and an offer to pay less, not more...
After one night I changed the hotel and went to another hotel belonging to the Hilton group, which cost one third and was really good.
Location is perfect, right in the centre of the old town. Spacious room with chairs, plenty of hanging and clothes storage space.
Room location was noisy overnight with goods vehicles arriving and departing and lots of banging as I assume shop deliveries were unloaded.
Had trouble initially getting room warm, controls for AC were odd with no way to see the actual temperature that is set.
Wifi is only free if you sign up for rewards scheme. Sign up process for that is annoying to say the least, after entering name and address, selecting a country clears all the information you just typed and you have to start over again.

I landed in Brussels but had a delayed taxi to the arrival gate due to the presence of a safety hazard near the gate. I got to the hotel later than I planned after spending 15 hours on a plane, but Adrian at the reception was very accommodating and able to find me a room to freshen up in immediately. My diamond status was also recognised and he kindly gave me a very nice upgrade! Breakfast was great, and the room was very comfortable. I wish I had the time to stay longer
Belles prestations, dans cet hôtel idéalement placé. Au centre de tout, vraiment génial
