Although the hotel is not located in the center of Amsterdam, during ADE we enjoyed the perfect balance between rest and partying thanks to the hotel’s relaxing atmosphere and peaceful location.
Pros:
We stayed at this hotel twice this year, and both times were a great experience. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the rooms are comfortable, and the location is excellent. Public transportation is just a short walk from the hotel, and the surrounding area feels safe, quiet and modern.
Our room had a balcony with beautiful views, which was a nice touch. The hotel has its own restaurant, and there are also plenty of great dining options nearby. A supermarket is conveniently located about a five-minute walk away.
Cons:
Unfortunately, the room does not have a mini-fridge, which would be a great addition.
One evening, I asked the receptionist if it was possible to heat some food in a microwave, but unfortunately, this facility was not available.
Parking spaces in the parking garage are limited.
Overall, the hotel is great, and we’re looking forward to our next stay.
I’ve stayed at this hotel around eight times, and overall, it offers a pleasant experience, mainly due to its beautiful location with a stunning sea view.
The rooms are generally clean, although I’ve occasionally encountered small issues such as an empty tissue box or a missing TV remote control. When I called the reception about this, the gentleman on duty mentioned he couldn’t bring it up since he was alone, so I had to go down to collect it myself — not ideal for a hotel of this standard.
Breakfast offers a great variety of choices, which I really appreciate. However, the serving staff could be more attentive — during one visit, we sat for over an hour, and no one came to clear the used dishes, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy.
The reception staff vary in professionalism. Sukeina stands out as truly amazing — always smiling, welcoming me back, and providing efficient, friendly service that makes check-in a pleasure. She really enhances the guest experience. On the other hand, there is another receptionist (I believe from Eastern Europe) whose attitude is quite the opposite — she came across as rude and unhelpful. Some improvement in customer service skills would make a big difference.
Despite a few service inconsistencies, the hotel’s great location and some standout staff like Sukeina keep me coming back. With a bit more focus on staff training and attentiveness, this hotel could easily be an excellent place to stay
Very modern industrial feel to the hotel. Room was a wee bit chilly later on. Breakfast excellent. Staff lovely. Quite far from city centre but very easy to get to by tram, bus or train.
Good job!
Just ok - small below average rooms
The breakfast options were amazing.
Nice hotel, Great location, Lovely Staff, Minor Negative Points.
Ideal location for us. Clean comfortable hotel. Efficient, friendly and professional staff. Nice restaurant and sky bar. Overall, a pretty decent hotel for the price.
We arrived at the acceptable check-in time of 15:00 to be told the room was not ready - disappointing. We came back a couple of hours later. We didn't have breakfast. Even for Amsterdam 19.5 euros per person for a hotel breakfast is a bit steep. We had breakfast at my daughters who lives a 10 minute walk away, Had it have been half the price we would have had breakfast every day at the hotel (which, probably, would have worked out well for the hotel as, personally, I can only cope with a couple of coffees in the morning, which help me to feel like a human being!!) Very fiddly and confusing light controls in the room. After a 3rd stay, we have still not fully mastered it. We will be back and will persevere! The translucent bathroom door is annoying - lets in light to sleeping area, which turns off after 10-15 mins. (OK, I know, - new world problems!) Overall, nice enough hotel and good value>
Fantastic hotel with an easy journey into the city centre. Great breakfast selection and room was a good size with a nice bathroom.
Stayed at Four Elements over pride weekend for my husband’s 30th. First impressions are really great, it’s a clean hotel and really modern - exactly what I was looking for! Just a few things to note. We found the beds to be quite hard- but we like mattresses on the softer side, so if you prefer the opposite then you’ll love these! There’s also some roadworks happening right outside the hotel, which means we had to get two trams and a bus to get to and from the hotel into the city centre. Just double check that before your stay, thankfully Amsterdam’s public transport is really reliable. Overall though it’s been a great stay :)
Very nice. Bed comfortable, food excellent.
We visited this hotel on the 12th of August for a 2 night stay. Although the hotel was very clean, the service was quite disappointing. It was extremely hot the time we were there it was over 26 degrees and it stated on our room information we could have a cool box to cool down our drinks in the room. Not to mention that the AC is extremely poor and unfortunately it is very hard to sleep in the early conditions. We requested a cool box and unfortunately never received this even though we were told it would be with us asap. Upon then asking where it is, we were advised they had “none left”.
In addition to this, I also brought a celebration package for my partner which I paid for prior to my stay. When I arrived at the hotel and had to pay for the tax, they charged me for the celebration package again INFRONT of my partner. I had to pay this because had I have questioned them, my partner would have known about his surprise. I gave my details to the front desk on the 14th of July. I was advised that my payment would be returned within a couple of days. It is now the 1st of August and this payment is still yet to be received. I have chased this several times and they keep advising me that it’ll be with me soon or in the next few days and weeks later I still do not receive it.
Really disappointed in my experience, would probably avoid.
It was near a little beach. Transportation options were good.
In general the hotel looks good, rooms are clean and beds comfortable. However, the service was really really poor from check in to check out. At the arrival the receptionist was not welcoming at all. No smile, no kind words. Quite agressive. She did not give us any information. We had to ask for everything ourselves. We asked for parking and the only answer was that it was full. We asked for breakfast and she said: 'I thought you knew what you booked'. Very unpleasant. The breakfast the day after was a mess. One coffee machine did not work so a long line for the other. No help from the staff. Don't look for decaf coffee. The say it's not included in the 19,50 per person. Bacon was finished and we had to wait for a long time to have it refilled. And then finished again before we could take it. This was the first and last time for us in this hotel. They pretend to be fancy and green but they just lack service. (By the way, you have collect 'room service' at the reception...)
Location and views over the lake.
The hotel and staff are very nice. My only issue is with the cleanliness of the room.
The hotel was a fun departure from the typical Marriotts, etc. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Our room had great views of the water and everything was clean and orderly. The breakfast was a normal, tasty European style breakfast and the Sky Club had good drinks. The Mariner Club is a one minute walk for quality Mediterranean food. Overall we really enjoyed staying here.
Clean room and staff was friendly
This is a lovely hotel......do not be put off by the location it is served by Amsterdam's brilliant public transport system and is easy to access the city centre and Schipol airport. The staff are helpful and friendly and we were welcomed with a free drink from the bar which is always welcome. The rooms are modern with a beautiful view of the lake (room 705). The Skybar offers great cocktails and a wonderful view. We only had the breakfast on the last day but it offered a great choice of hot and cold dishes. We only had some minor issues.....room service did not replace our coffee capsules and we had to ask at reception, the cups are espresso size and not suitable for a large coffee/tea....however, reception can easily rectify this. There are some great restaurants and bars nearby and a good supermarket. Highly recommended!!
First, the staff. Very friendly, polite and helpful. Both at front desk and restaurant (breakfast). I asked for my room NOT to be cleaned daily. The cleaner I talked to in the hall still was concerned that I had enough towels etc. I was impressed with her positive and friendly attitude.
I always stay here when visiting Amsterdam
