The location of the Desert Palms Hotel in relation to Disneyland was excellent, less than a 15 minute walk to the main entrance, and only crossing one street to get there! The staff was very helpful, and the room clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and offered a nice variety of options. We appreciated that the lobby was festive and very Disney. There was a play area tucked in on the side of the lobby for little ones and ongoing Disney movies. The are also provided seating for the parents. this place is a great value for the location and amenities. Also, 2 drug stores on other corners, and a 7/11 next door, which are all convenient.
Very clean hotel with nice amenities. Nice decor and comfortable beds. Easy walk to Disneyland, CA Adventure and Downtown Disney.
They charge you for another full day of parking on the day of checkout instead of allowing parking till midnight. In case you are going to the parks on the day of checkout, be aware of this parking policy that i didn't appreciate.
Great hotel-nice and clean. Breakfast had a lot of variety. Heated pool with nice fitness area. Staff were excellent. Easy walking instance to Disneyland. We will stay there again.
I have stayed at most of the hotels near the Disneyland resort and somehow this was my first stay at the Dester Palms. It was very close, with only one street to cross on the way to the park and we felt safe at all times. There is a 7-11 on the corner which is convenient. There were one or two homeless in the store parking lot on occasion, which is to be expected. I read reviews giving the hotel poor marks because of a few homeless in the area, but anyone who travels to L.A. should expect to see a few homeless here or there. The ONLY way to stay in the area and not see homeless if to stay at one of the hotels on Disney property.
That said, the hotel was clean and had plenty of nice touches, like the movie viewing area in the lobby for kids, a small store in the lobby, and a large refrigerator and microwave in the room. The window actually opened to let in outside air, which is very unusual. The rooms were modern and comfortable and quiet. we could hear the upstairs guests walking but not talking and we could not hear through the walls. Our daughter's family with young children stayed in the room next door and we never heard them.
The hot tub was actually hot, and the pool was clean, with plenty of towels. The staff was super friendly and helpful and always seemed available to answer our questions. The one thing that made me give 4 instead of 5 stars was the breakfast, which was a full hot buffet, but a little sub-par.
For the price, you will not find a better hotel this close to Disneyland.
We stayed just about anywhere around disneyland. This hotel has the best breakfast in town. It's cool to eat and start your day looking out from the 5th floor at Disneyland.
We had a beautiful room with full bunk beds with stairs going to the top bunk. The location is great with all the amenities right there. We just walked to Disneyland everyday, but in the past we've used the ART bus to go back and forth. The room was quiet and we never heard a peep while we were sleeping
Very good service and very nice staff. Room was awesome. We loved our stay. Very close to Disneyland walking distances loved it all
Was not impressed with this hotel at all. We selected this hotel because the booking site didn’t list a parking fee and because of its close proximity to the Disneyland parks. Prior to check-in, several days in fact, I had emailed to inquire about early check-in with no response. It took 3 more phone calls to finally reach someone and was told to call when I landed. I did, and was told it was ready. After my lengthy wait at check-in because only one person was running the desk, I was told they would see what they could do. When I said I called 40 minutes prior when I landed, as instructed by them, she was rude about it. We were then informed that there was a $35 per day parking fee for the few spots they had unprotected around the hotel. When I told her that there was no mention of this her response was “you need to scroll down to see it.” I scoured the listing and no mention of it. We requested extra blankets for our daughter twice and never received them. No housekeeping during our visit. The A/c worked well in the separate room either the bunk beds but not at all in the main room. Overall, for the amount we paid this was not worth it. We booked a more expensive room than some of the motel style rooms across the street from the entrance only to receive motel style service and amenities. Breakfast was good and bed was comfortable, but that was about it. I would recommend staying elsewhere with better service. They are certified as a “Good Neighbor” hotel but I don’t know how.
Great hotel 12 min walk to Disney security. Free breakfast buffet with rooftop views of CA Adventure (the house made salsa was my highlight!) Q + Jose P went out of their way to make us feel right at home! Would absolutely stay here again!
Great place to stay to visit Disneyland! Easy 15 minute walk to the park entrance, amazing breakfast buffet to start your day, and unique setup of the bunk bed room worked perfectly for our family of 6 with our girls ages 15, 13, 9, and 8 able to share the bunk bed. They sent me multiple texts during my stay checking in to make sure things were going well and the breakfast buffet staff was OUTSTANDING! It’s so refreshing to see staff really take pride in the level of service they provide customers! I highly recommend this hotel!
It was a nice stay, would recommend it to families that would like to stay closer to the park and prefer in house breakfast. Hospitality was great too!!
Overall, it was a perfectly fine place to go back and sleep after going to the parks! It's totally walkable, clean, CVS across the street, and free breakfast. The breakfast was pretty good but I really would have like some cheese for my egg and sausage sandwich, but it's free so I don't want to nickpick too much. I think they worst part was the room but only bc the location of our room. If you are in room 102, 103, or 105 I think other guests don't realize they are guest rooms bc people are very loud as they walk by. The rooms are clean though and they have a good number of hooks to hang towels. One good thing about those three rooms is that there are three restrooms outside the room so if someone is showering or using the bathroom in the room you can just go across the hall. For the price I would stay their again!
We had a really great room that felt bigger than advertised. It was clean and quiet even though we were right by tge breakfast hall. Breakfast was delicious and so was the room service. Great place to stay!
I’d stay here again and again. We had a 2-bed/2-bath. This was a spacious nice room. Breakfast was nice. So so close to dining and Disneyland
The room was great. Cleaning staff top notch. Breakfast was more than we could have hoped for. Perfect location.
Cons:
The dude who checked us in was extremely rude.
I took the fold out couch and the traffic with car racing with mufflers was loud right by the street all through the night.
Also the 711 right jext to property has a large pole with lights that emits a warning announcement when possible people up to no good are hanging around. It goes off alot. Because theres quite a few shady characters lurking around on that corner.
Great place to stay and close to Disneyland.
Very clean and service was exceptional. Rooms were spacious and the best part was the water pressure and how hot the shower would get. After a long day at Disneyland taking a hot shower that felt like a massage was wonderful. Easy walk to Disney 10 min. Breakfast was another plus. I would highly recommend.
staff super polite
Great property for convenience and cleanliness.
Very noisy, think the walls are made from paper
Breakfast buffet limited
Over all good property
Staff were friendly. My room was very clean and fresh towels.
