Pros:

We had a lovely big room, and breakfast was lovely.. However what ruined it for us was the hotel bar was closed to residents as apparently there was a private function.. I felt this was not good enough and looked forward to relaxing in the bar/lounge area after a long day exploring Prague.. This happened both nights at our stay.. The reception staff were not helpful and one of the said the bar would be open that evening, the same again happened, it was closed... The ambassador hotel should not advertise their hotel with a bar/lounge or at least let residents know in advance it will be closed.

Pros:

The hotel was charming and well-established, and our room was beautifully decorated. We were so glad we chose to stay at a traditional hotel instead of a modern one, as it really fit the atmosphere of Prague. The breakfast had a great variety of delicious dishes, too.

Location, location, location
Pros:

The hotel was in an amazing location on Wenceslas Square. You can walk out and you will be in the heart of Prague close to many historical sites and areas. Perfect especially if this is your first visit to Prague.

The hotel itself is older as is seen in the website photos. That being said, it was very clean and well maintained. The staff were very friendly to us and helpful with our many questions. Our room had plenty of space to move around. The bathroom was very big and we had both a bathtub and stand alone shower (which we asked for). We even had more bathroom counter space then we needed! The mattress was not very thick but comfortable for me but not my husband. There was a portable air conditioner which cooled the room sufficiently. The noise bothered my husband but it lulled me to sleep. We found the breakfast buffet very good but tried to eat when tour groups were not eating their breakfast.

On my birthday, I returned to the room to find a small bottle of sparkling wine, fruit plate, small bouquet of flowers and birthday wishes. It was a very nice touch.

If you are happy with the decor of the rooms, do not hesitate to book this hotel. You will appreciate the location every day.

Great place to stay!
Pros:

Our favorite hotel in Prague! Located right in the center of old town, in walking distance to Charles bridge, Prague Castle and all historical sights. Subway station is literally couple steps away. Hotel restaurants and lobby bar offers very tasteful traditional Czech cuisine and selection of international wines. Friendly staff is helpful and plentiful buffet style breakfast is perfect start of your journey.

Pros:

Poor and tired room with cheap and damaged old European style furniture. Bathroom did not offer a shower curtain and the floor was not cleaned of hair from previous stay. Typical mold in corners and a broken tiles on the side of the bath tub. Would not recommend.

Pros:

The good: Helpful staff, decent breakfast, fantastic location
The bad: Hotel condition is a bit outdated. The first two days we didn’t feel air conditioning even we were told it was centrally maximized. The last night the cold air blowed to my face all night and couldn’t be adjusted. Overall I would expect a much more comfortable stay for a 5-star hotel.

Horrible Experience
Pros:

My stay at the Hotel Ambassador Zlatá Husa in Prague was profoundly disappointing. Despite its prime location on Wenceslas Square, the hotel’s service and facilities were far from five-star standards.

Upon arrival, I was shocked to find the room in a state of disrepair. The furniture was visibly worn, with broken springs in chairs and cracks in the bathroom sink. The carpet had fresh stains, and the overall cleanliness was questionable. To make matters worse, the air conditioning was non-functional, leaving the room uncomfortably warm. Requests to the front desk for assistance were met with indifference, and no remedial action was taken during my stay.

Housekeeping was equally subpar. Dirty hand towels were replaced with ones that appeared already used, adorned with mysterious stains. A paper I left on the floor remained there for days, indicating a lack of basic room maintenance. The bed’s day cover had unsightly marks, and despite reporting this to the reception, it was never changed.

The bathroom facilities were appalling. The hot water supply was inconsistent, with brown water occasionally flowing from the taps. The whirlpool bathtub emitted cloudy water with floating debris, making it unusable. Despite multiple complaints, the issues were never resolved.

Service throughout the hotel was lackluster. Staff members were unhelpful and, at times, outright rude. A simple request for a phone charger adapter was met with a demand for an exorbitant fee of 18 euros. The hotel’s amenities were equally disappointing; there was no fitness center, and the elevator was frequently out of order.

In summary, the Hotel Ambassador Zlatá Husa fails to deliver on its advertised luxury and comfort. The combination of poor service, inadequate facilities, and unclean conditions made for an unpleasant stay. I would strongly advise potential visitors to consider alternative accommodations in Prague.

No sleep Hotel, definitely not five stars
Pros:

Good location, ok breakfast, big room. That’s about it. The rest: No sleep due to the loud music from the club every night till 4-5 a.m., loud water pipes just next to the bed when someone upstairs was flushing, uncomfortable mattresses and pillows. Not very friendly staff.
Hotel has a old chic charm, but is outdated and definitely not a five star hotel.

Weekend trip to Prague (family of 3)
Pros:

Just back from a truly wonderful trip to Prague!
This hotel is beautiful, our room (304) was large, spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
Everything is within walking distance (be prepared for 20k+ steps every day), there's so much to be out seeing and doing but it was a pleasure to head back to this hotel for a rest at the end of the day.
Will definitely return!

Perfect location and comfortable
Pros:

Excellent location close to all the squares with Christmas markets and the famous clock. Room was large, clean and comfortable with a separate shower and a jacuzzi bath. No kettle in the room, no bottled water. The TV had no BBC or US channels. Breakfast was very good and a nice lobby bar. The hotel restaurant food plenty of srlection and not expensive. The lobby has a currency exchange kiosk which was a good rate and easy to buy as needed as it was open all the time. Free WiFi and best thing is the room was very quiet.
