Loved the hotel neighborhood and ease of transportation

Pleasant stay in the right location.
Pros:

Staff was fantastic, with Elena at the front desk very good at making us feel comfortable and satisfied. The room was on the small side and you could hear neighbors, and exterior traffic at times but nothing too bad. Front desk always manned and you had to get buzzed in so very safe.

Quaint with a lot of charm
Pros:

City Suites Chicago is a quaint, boutique hotel with a lot of charm. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. The bathroom is bright and functional. The hotel is near the elevated train, which is convenient for travels around town. But, despite being so close, one really cannot hear it from their room. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and helpful

Great location and front desk, but housekeeping failed to deliver
Pros:

I would have rated City Suites Hotel as a wonderful place to recommend. It is centrally located in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood and features friendly, helpful front desk staff. However, the housekeeping service left much to be desired.

On February 6, 2026, at 8:00 AM, I requested that Gabriel have the cleaning staff service our room in the morning. I had a medical procedure at the nearby Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital and was looking forward to decompressing from my sedation in a clean room. By 12:30 PM, our room had still not been cleaned. I went downstairs and spoke with Gabriel again to repeat my request, then waited in the lobby for two and a half hours. Despite these efforts, the room remained unserviced. By 3:00 PM, I was exhausted and simply needed to nap as the sedatives were wearing off. In the end, the cleaning staff never arrived.

Great room and sleep!
Pros:

I had a great stay and a good sleep. The King Suite room was just like the pics. I was afraid I would be able to hear the train and street noise but I didn’t. My room even faced the street and train. Great location! The bed was very comfortable.

Pros:

Proximity to public transit was extremely helpful. I couldn't hear much outside noise from my room above the entrance.

Cons:

It was a bit drafty. There's enough heating to compensate. It's why I'm not stoked about the hotel. I know it's an older building. It's fine.

I will certainly stay there again with how close the parking and bus/train stops are and fair price.
Pros:

I loved the easy parking around the corner and the excellent location near a bus stop and the Belmont train station. The room was very nice and clean.

Cons:

The hallways smelled a bit like weed (which really doesn't bother me much but it might others) but the room was odor free. The radiator heat, even with the wall space heater, didn't quite get the room as warm as I wanted. It was below zero degrees, however, and it wasn't that bad - just a few degrees off.
