Very good breakfast. The staff are all very nice
We had a Double Executive room, which was much bigger than a typical hotel room. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, with a nice roof garden and a small gym. We enjoyed the late night fried chicken and the breakfast buffet. It’s a walk to the orange or red metro lines, but through a nice quieter neighborhood with plenty of tea and food options.
친절한 안내 깔끔한 시설
조식 음식 종류가 부족했음
We stayed three nights in the mid April as our second trip to Taipei. As we do not speak Taiwanese, various supports by the Riviera staff made our trip comfortable. We asked them selection of restaurant, recommendation to visit and some small things, then always their answer satisfied our expectations.
Although subway stations are a bit far, we are thinking to stay The Riviera again at the next trip.
The staffs are very friendly and offer free shuttles to nearby places like National Palace Museums, night markets…
It’s very clean and quiet place to stay.
The breakfast has different varieties food including western, Chinese and Japanese food.
Fantastic location. Old, but charming decoration.
No shower but only bathtub. Bed was a bit hard.
We stayed for 3 nights. Room was reasonably spacious and very quiet. Location is excellent, close to cafes and restaurants. Hotel staff are friendly and nice. We had an enjoyable stay.
Great stay. Very welcoming and accommodating staff. Room was comfortable and bath was nice. Everything very clean.
The breakfast offered a good selection. There were both Asian and Western options available. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. The sitting area on the 7th floor was nice as well. Two subway stations are a short walk away.
Nothing. I enjoyed my stay.
Stayed here for a week this year.
Location is close to some popular areas like Zhongshan and Daan. Couple of train stations within 10 minute walking distance and bus stops nearby.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
The room itself was spacious. Some things are a bit outdated such as the decor and bathrooms. However, given the price of the room, the outdated part wasn’t an issue. The room was maintained well by housekeeping during the stay.
During recent trip to Taipei for the Taipei Cycle Show 2026 I stayed at Riviera Hotel. The hotel is conveniently located near MRT and convenient stores such as Family Mart and Seven-11. Although the MRT station is not exactly very close to the hotel there is transportation provided by the hotel to the MRT station, so it is not a problem. Buffet breakfast from the hotel is satisfying with various breakfast menu provided. Hotel room is properly maintained with various amenities available. I even got a special birthday cake from hotel's front desk, it was really very kind gesture that made me feel very welcomed at the hotel. In short I enjoyed my stay very much, if I come to Taipei again I will surely choose Riviera Hotel again for my stay, I want to take my wife to stay there and enjoy the facilities. Highly recommended hotel.
Some basic variety.
Being Americans, we tend to like our eggs well cooked and the bacon crispy. Most European & Asian hotels make eggs unpalatable and runny; bacon is borderline raw. Not any different here. Also a coffee machine capable of producing a latte or cappuccino would be nice. This hotel had regular coffee that was slightly hotter than lukewarm.
good location, adequate room but good value for the price
building is older and not updated
The Riviera Hotel Review
The Riviera was a a surprise visit from start to finish and exceeded my expectations based on experiences with higher rated hotels.
As a four star hotel (at the time) on Agoda, there is so much notable about this chic, well-kept and beautifully decorated establishment.
This stay was an example of small = big. Their footprint on the corner of Linsen North Road is modest for operations one would expect from a hotel that is this well managed, presentable, and English speaking. See the attached photos.
Entering the lobby and reception revealed a welcoming, calm space to explore with a ground floor cafe (avec award winning patisserie), and a huge wine selection beautifully displayed beyond reception with a temperature controlled wine room beside the hotel's (award winning) day and night restaurant.
There's a second restaurant on the second floor, "The Yacht Club", where the bar is. Wish I could go! I managed a cocktail or two from them with a very special request that the hotel fulfilled beautifully. Thank you!
My room on the fourth floor was much better than I expected, with the door opening onto an office space with lovely wooden flooring and visitor seating, plus thoughtful additions like a yoga mat for exercise. The room presented a good amount of space and two luggage racks, additions such as an iron and ironing board (which I always have to ask for), two suitcase racks, and USB-A slots installed by the bed beside other plugs for charging convenience. The decor and art details made it all feel quite premium. I loved that.
The bathroom was well lit with a long enough bathtub (and shower curtain for when you want to shower). Green products are common these days. The hotel doesn't provide personal use items like toothbrushes and shaving tools - but that's a good thing and I always arrive prepared.
The breakfast was a sensation. White table cloths. Great balance between western and easter options. A chef that prepares omelettes and eggs anyway you like them. An unpretentious cheese selection plus home made Danish. Plus a STACK of bacon.
Details that I appreciated are:
- the bed and pillows were comfy
- each floor has a seating area outside the elevator with unique and colorful carpeting
- the top floor has a gorgeous sun room where you can order from snacks and refreshments with a quick call from the provided number. It's really a VIBE once you're up there and it's a recommended stop.
- nothing about the hotel was plain.
- the establishment appears very well maintainained. Well done!
- the parking area was, although not big considering the amount of rooms, well attended, and so clean. Ditto for the staircase heading from the basement parking to the ground floor lobby. Well done!
These things are not to be overlooked when choosing an beautiful, yet unassuming hotel like the Riviera. I will happily stay here again.
Good facility, good meal, and kind employees.
Quick check-in and check-out, very good option to leave one piece of luggage in the hotel when we travelled around Taiwan. We came back at the end of our journey and were again welcomed friendly. Very friendly people at breakfast who will always help you. Good breakfast. Nice spacious room, clean, good housekeeping. Quiet room. Sometimes noice from other hotel guests (also in the middle of the night). The best hotel we stayed in in Taiwan! Thank you 🙏🌸
