Passport and Money Stolen by Employee
Pros:

I'm absolutely certain that whoever stole my passport and money had a key to my room. Only one employee, and whoever she told, knew I kept my USD and passport in a small black bag, and that's all that was missing because anything else valuable I have would have been seen by the hall cameras, and I'd have noticed it missing sooner. I never took my bag out of the room because USD is largely not accepted in Colombia and I carry my passport card instead of the book around. I had no guests in my room, and they know that considering there's a 24 hour gate person that you can't get in without passing.

The owner seems nice and assures me there will be new, modern locks on the doors within the coming days, but I'm absolutely certain that someone with a key to my room stole my things, I don't expect my money back, there's no reason I'd make this up and be forced to buy a new passport, yet there's been no serious investigation or offer of support by him.

Jail Hotel
Pros:

There is no 24 hour door person as advertised. The woman that works during the day is regularly nowhere to be found, or on the phone, or busy doing something else, so you're physically trapped in or out of the building until she feels like letting you in or out. I've been incarcerated inside the building for more than 15 minutes on two occasions and shorter times on other occasions. I've stood in the rain outside until soaked waiting to be let in because the "door person" was on the 5th floor doing laundry.

Warm water, not hot. If you turn the water pressure up much past a trickle, you get nothing but cold water. Rarely and randomly you get a very short burst of warmer/nearly hot water.

The men who work nights have always been promptly available to open the gate. Of course one understands bathroom breaks and such and doesn't expect perfection, but the woman during the day is frequently unavailable to open the gate for you. It's mostly the owner's fault for being understaffed and making her do everything else and try to be the door person too.

The whole ordeal with the gate could easily be solved if the owner would give guests a key to the front gate like a normal hotel, but he refuses. It's a complete lack of respect for the time of the guests.

The location is great for me. Everything else is sufficient, but the gate issue is intolerable. If you don't mind being locked up sometimes when you really got somewhere else to be & don't need hot showers, then come stay here.

Pros:

Great spot in Galerias, close to everything, comfy accommodation, but could use a few little fixes.

The sound carries up the stairs and at morning shift change, the staff downstairs were usually very loud and sounded like there are practically in your room, almost every morning, around 0630.

There are a few things missing in the kitchen that should be standard, and are in any rental apartment I've used: a cutting knife (there was a single meat knife only); collander/strainer; lids that fit the pans & skillets as there was one, and it fit only one saucepan and didn't fit the skillet; a stirring spoon to cook with; coffee maker (took the days to get one, by which time, I bought something)

Everyone was friendly though, would certainly stay again, but a couple of things need addressed to consider another multi-week stay.
