The owner is very friendly and speaks perfect English. He arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the airport and bring us to the hotel. The area in front of the hotel is beside the river. There was some construction happening on the the building that was a little inconvenient at the entrance, but the room was great! Cold air conditioning, comfortable beds ample sized room with beautiful view of the Nile and boats out the window.
The staff was very nice. Quiet area.
We arrived around midnight, and we had arranged to have them pick us up from the airport. This worked great and they provided great service.
The hotel is small and run by a family. They provided good service in getting our luggage up to our room. The furniture in the room was outdated and felt dusty. The bathroom was clean, and the bed was comfortable.
We paid extra to have breakfast the next morning. It was served family style and none of the foods appealed to me. There was no coffee or tea. The water bottles provided were not cold.
Overall, it is a good place to stay if you are on a budget and you want to see the Philae temple which is pictured on their website/
Great property with an amazing view at the Nile river! This was my first time traveling to Aswan and I am happy that I choose this hotel. Ahmed, the property owner was helpful and kind. He was able to get me a driver to Abu Simbel and to Luxor with little notice, definitely an amazing experience!
Villa Misk is a real gem.
The views are stunning, the room comfortable and clean.
The home made food was divine and the owner Ahmed was so helpful with arranging excursions and imparting valuable advice about the cruises.
The local road to get there is unpaved - but keep the course because it is worth it !
Beautiful view from the room of the Aswan dam.
Villa Misk scared us when we first got there. It looks very unfinished, and is a project under construction, and the road outside is a mud road, at least when we got there in Feb 2025. But the host, Ahmed, has an American accent and is very friendly and hospitable, as is his family. The room we had was spacious, with an amazing view of lake Nasser, the motorboats in the lake, and the Island of the temple of Isis. The breakfast was authentic Egyptian, but for me personally, it was passable. There is very little around the Villa itself in terms of shopping and restaurants, but the host set us up with a reasonably priced driver that made us feel less stuck. Uber does not work in Aswan, so you need a driver, or the taxis will rip you off. The host also set us up with a motorboat on the evening we arrived, and we saw lake Nasser, the Nubian island of Heissa, and the temple of Isis at night.

Beautiful waterfront view clean room run by a wonderful host family.
Amazing place to stay and an amazing host
Very friendly staff / owners, good value, comfortable, communicated well and arranged our taxi which was appreciated.
I recommended this property. Really nice service, clean and next to Nile river. If I come back to Aswan I don't hesitate stay again over here.
Very good communication with us. Young man who checked us in was friendly and good English. The hotel is on the water but not a well traveled areas yet on the boat docks. We walked on the hill to the small local store for drinks and snacks and paid 1/5 what we had in the past. $1.70 got us 4 drinks, three bags of chips and ice cream! Room was fine, TV didn’t work and they did offer us “upgrade” room for $15 to one with A/C but we were fine in late March without.
Ahmed and his family run and amazing guest house. Ahmed was very inviting and gracious and has done an unbelievable job building his dream. Not many dining options in the immediate area but you really don’t need to leave. The food was excellent and only surpassed by the views of the lake and Philae Temple.
Area is not so nice
I do not know how this property got the good reviews it has as it is absolutely terrible. If you're a foreign traveler stay away from this... It is impossible to find, even the local have no idea where it is. Access is via a dirt road where I would think twice before going, if I were alone. There is NOTHING around it and one would be very ill advised to venture outside on foot. The room was pretty basic, by no means a "VIP property". Breakfast was cheap, $4 per person, but just as bad. It will put some calories into your stomach, but it won't be something you'd look forward to repeat.
All in all a bad experience. It does not deserve to be listed on Expedia.
Clea, comfortable safe, and well maintained
Very kind staffs.
Friendly... feel like a family.
The area is remote. Very limited food/restaurant. The owner live upstairs and most of the time no one is downstairs. If you need something, you have to ring the bell at the counter. If you want to order food you have to order in advance at least 1 hour. There is room without AC, so check what’s included before you pay.
