Large, well-located hotel with big comfy room and bathroom and lovely staff. Great breakfast. We stayed here as part of a group and extended our stay by a couple of nights to relax after a busy tour. Miyako Japanese restaurant was a highlight with beautiful dishes. Nobles bar tried to give a club vibe but actually felt a bit dark and dismal, particularly if it was quiet. We had a couple of excellent massages at the spa with Sabir and Azzat.
Beautiful outside space and location directly on the Nile. The only negative was the building work which was going on at the next door plot with constant drilling all through the day which spoilt sitting by the pool and trying to relax with a book. Hotel tried to compensate by offering cold drinks and towels.
Marian Mohareb was an absolutely fantastic tour guide for both the East Bank and West Bank. Her depth of knowledge about Egyptian history was incredibly impressive, and she brought everything to life with her excellent storytelling. One of our favorite parts of the experience was her guidance through the tombs in the Valley of the Kings — she made the history feel real, meaningful, and unforgettable. She was recommended by our hotel, and we are so glad they connected us with her. If you are staying at the hotel, definitely check with them and request Marian personally. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional experience and a chance to truly learn the real history of ancient Egypt.
Its the team that make this hotel! The service in the hotel is great - friendly but remaining professional - the facilities are good - yes there is building works during the day - and the management are aware of these works - indeed the works are being carried out on behalf of the owners - to improve facilities for the future - perhaps some sort of explanation in the rooms would be good. The rooms are good - we stayed in a 5th floor room with side Nile view - however would say that the sooner the room refurbishment program is stepped up(as per the 4th floor which has been completed) the better to ensure that the hotel stays ahead of its competition. Lets hope the current troubles in the Middle East don't prevent people from visiting - its great to see so many people out and about in the town.
This will be our 7th stay in the sonesta!
That should tell you a little of what we think of the hotel.
Over the past 15 years we have seen the changes and there's work going on at the moment, the staff go out of their way to minimise disruption,
NOBLES bar is the place to be, it's great crack, with the bar staff going out of their way to make you feel welcome.
Young girl in guest relations, is superb and helps you with everything! Simply spot on.
He don't like the attention but a big shout out to Usama, behind the bar are top man.
The carpet needs replacing in the bar and the cupboards are showing signs of age, but we all do lol.
Big shout out to Mr Heysham, super friendly guy and really helpful
.
I'd say it's still my favourite hotel throughout the world, I ain't been that far, but far enough!!!!
Spent 4 nights at this hotel as part of a titan tour group. The hotel is great with marble flooring etc and kept spotlessly clean. The breakfast - lunch - and evening meal was plentiful but all to our taste - but we are in egypt and did not go hungry so all in all would describe as very good. The outside pool was spotlessly clean with great seating and sunbed areas. Also the seating and sunbed areas right by the nile was fantastic where you could relax and watch the activities on the nile river. The staff at meal times were excellent and the chef at breakfast was great at producing a very tasty omelette.
Our room - cannot remember the exact number 51 something was not without issues. The bathroom door would not shut properly as it was hitting the top of the door frame - this required a carpenter to plane/ease the door to allow it to shut properly . The w/h/b would not hold water which was not a problem but wanted looking at. The bedroom area has sliding doors to the wardrobe - the lleft hand door slid ok but the right hand door would only slide part way. To shut it had to be lifed buy the handle. Drawers to bedroom furniture very tight to operate so did not use.A bit of in house Maintenance required. To this room.Nice small balcony with nile view double room but only 1 chair. Overall a very nice and pleasant stay.
Stayed for 3 nights. Hotel is very comfortable and clean. Staff are fantastic - so polite and helpful. Particular thanks to Nadine in Guest Relations for sorting out a problem with our room very quickly. There’s a good choice at breakfast. Hotel is well situated along the Nile with a leisurely walk to both the Luxor and Karnak Temples (we got a taxi back)
Eman and Gebrele at breakfast were absolutely fabulous! They were very attentive and took extra care of our tour group.
Thank you!
Just returned home from a week at the Sonesta St George. We loved our stay there. It’s perfectly located on the bank of the Nile and a short walk from Luxor and Karnak temples.
There is a nice ambient and relaxed atmosphere from as soon as you walk in and the staff are very friendly, attentive and capable. We had a room overlooking the pool and the Nile and the views are spectacular.
The pool area is lovely and doesn’t get overcrowded. Special mention goes to Nagha who looked after us there every day, she was very hard working and couldn’t do enough for us.
We will undoubtedly go back there in the future, there is so much to do and see in the area and I recommend this hotel to anyone going to Luxor.
Very nice hotel .Lots of space, beautiful balcony's and spacious rooms.Good location right on nile view. The hotel has a lovely pool area. The staff very helpful especially guest relations team.
Great experince overall, with excellent facilities and good location .The staff were very friendly and many thanks for Merna she are outstanding in doing everything possible for the guests always smiling ,great housekeeping team and most breakfast team were hardworking and good. The swimming pool was clean and excellent and many thanks for nagha there .
Great well placed hotel in Luxor, with a great range of amenities, pool and breakfast together with very friendly and helpful staff. Let down with poor level of maintenance - the toilet hinges were close to broken and should have been spotted by room service and repaired. Our room not properly cleaned (bed barely made & dirty tea cups not replaced). The balcony door (which was externally accessible) did not lock (security issue). Worst of all, an air conditioning system that was making horrendous noises at 11pm and a staff that seemed incapable of explaining what was going on and when it would be resolved.
A perfect hotel for our 1 night stay in Luxor. I booked it through booking.com and the hotel were excellent with communication prior to our stay. Onsite the staff were super friendly. We arrived at 19.30 having flown in from Cairo. It’s an easy 20 min journey from the airport. We had drinks in the noble bar, lovely barman. Happy hour at 19.00 which was a nice surprise and enjoyed the Egyptian rose. Breakfast was delicious. Lots of choice.
The hotel recommended their inhouse guy Hany to organise airport transfers and our day tour of valley of the kings. Excellent service, nice car and driver and informative guide. Highly recommend. He can organise many more tours but we only had a day in Luxor.
All staff amazing service great food delicious and very nice reception good especially kerolos and narden
A true 5 star experience.Rooms with a breathtaking views !! Staff always attentive and ready to help ..you have everything you need at the hotel including restaurants and shops .. i will definitely come back to this hotel again .i will recommend the hotel to all my people
We also had a trip to Temple of Hathor. Our driver for the day was Sabry, nothing was too much trouble, excellent knowledge
Excellent service.big thanks to Mr. Malak ,Ms Nardeen and Mr.wahid .. fantastic staff and guest services.. not my first time and not the last for sure
Great staff 25 hours available.. dinner options soon good .. highly recommend place to go with your family
Excellent in almost all respects
Great staff
Terrific pool area
Lovely public areas
Rooms badly in need of a refurb- they are definitely the weakest link - zero storage - very old - poorly maintained
Happily there is a refurbishment programme in action so definitely ask for the refurbed rooms
Smoking allowed in part of the ground floor cafe which I didn’t like at all
Recommend a Nile view room as front rooms overlooking busy, noisy main road and most side rooms the water treatment plant. Our room was spacious with a balcony and comfortable bed and good air con. Wasn't that keen on the shower over a jacuzzi bath. Rooms equipped with kettle, robes, slippers, mini fridge and kettle.
Several reasonable restaurants on site but as hotel is centrally located there are a number of eateries with walking distance, although alcohol only avaiable in hotel ones.
Breakfast is great with plenty of choices and fresh cooking stations. Service is mainly good, although excellent at the pool. The female server there whose name i can't recall is super friendly and efficient.
Pool and terrace overlooking the Nile with cushioned sun loungers. Gym looks good but no towels or wipes and a number if machines not working. Sauna. Massage rooms - the one i had was very good.
Overall we had a pleasant, although not particularly memorable stay. Hotel is beginning to show its age and cleanliness, especially around the pool area could be improved but it offers good value for money.
It was really amazing vacation and I enjoyed so much with everything, and special thanks to Nardeen from the Reception department she helped me with everything, waiting for my next vacation to come here again.
