Sonesta claims to be a 5-star luxury hotel, but it does not provide the service expected of a 5-star property. I was really disappointed when no one helped us with our luggage when we checked in at 8 PM. The staff looked overworked and exhausted. In addition, the rooms looked dated, with old carpets, and the bathroom was cramped. The shower had a jacuzzi that was hard to operate. I would have preferred a simple rain shower.
On the positive side, the food was quite good, and the hotel's location was quite nice.
I booked this property with high expectations, as it was over New Year's Eve; unfortunately, it did not meet them.

A very nice and characteristic hotel that makes you feel welcome from the first moment. The atmosphere is cozy, the breakfast is delicious and well prepared, and the staff is extremely kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant stay 😊

Very helpful staff. Great restaurant and clean room. We were there for a short stay of only one night but the hotel was very nice.

Hotel cleanliness is irreproachable, even the staff adapts based on your need and timing.
We stayed for 2 nights. We had 3 rooms between 6 people.
Sleep quality 5/5- quiet rooms, comfy bed
Room 4/5- we got the newly refurbished rooms which were very nice, however it takes some time to figure out the lights system. Tea/coffee in room, good housekeeping, l’occitane products, water replenished generously
Breakfast 3/5- more than adequate- but you can tell that they are catering to just large number of people. My favorite item was the muesli in fresh yogurt. They do make eggs and fresh falafels ( but some falafels not fully cooked inside as they are trying to keep up with demand). Liked the specialty coffee machine)
Hotel 4/5- we did not use the pool. They were offering a special on massages so I got one at a good price and my massage was excellent. The spa itself is a little run down. Overall hotel is very clean and staff is extremely friendly- always willing to help.
Restaurants- Japanese restaurant 4.5/5 and waiter ( don’t remember his name, but has been there for a very long time), Italian restaurant 3/5- food was good,, service was ok- they had another large group and we struggled to get attention. We would have like to have eaten at the Egyptian restaurant but it’s outdoors and it was chilly- also the menu was very limited. There was a nice Sufi dance show though.
The hotel is a normal 4/5 star.
The views are beautiful, from the pool, the deck on the Nile, the best.
The food at the Italian restaurant in the hotel is a 10/10.
The staff is warm and friendly too.

Facilities were really amazing.. the hotel offers top notch service that exceeds our expectations.. we are a crew and all the members are happy from the service.. Nardine from guest relations is so helpful and professional. Perfect service
What a great hotel and vibes , Christmas decorations is fabulous.. it feels like a fancy palace with good prices comparing with the quality.. japanese dinner is a good choice.. swimming pool area and the bar very quite ..

Amazing experience with Marian touring the sights. A+ guide! We spent the whole day in a private car arranged by the hotel. Very informative and she had all the tickets ready to go so we skipped the lines.
Fabulous hotel!
Margaby and Eman were amazing and provided the best service. We loved spending our last day and night in Luxor at this hotel. It was very relaxing after our 10 day vacation exploring Egypt. The spa was also wonderful, we had great massages.
