Viennese luxury, world-class treatment!
I like almost everything about this wonderful hotel - the staff, the location, the food and the fabulous decor, which is a great mix of new and old. I wish all hotels I stay in were as good and took such care as this one!
I have one very tiny but not unimportant gripe: in the very nice bar, they make a feature of making their own cocktails. I have no problem with barmen being inventive but this shouldn’t be to the exclusion of the classics. Unfortunately it was impossible to get a classic Negroni (they don’t even stock Campari!). I was prepared to put up with the house gin (I usually have my own preference) and the house vermouth (which was ok but really nothing special) but a Campari substitute, which tasted unpleasant, was several steps too far! It ceased to be a Negroni at this point!!! Any 5* hotel bar needs to be prepared to make a cocktail the classic way, if that’s what the customer wants. I dread to think what they would do to a Vesper Martini.
Sehr zentral, alles gut zu Fuß zu erreichen
Sehr liebevolle und detailreiche Ausstattung. Es ist alles Schall isoliert, abends bekommt man einen Zitronentee und im Zimmer fehlt es an nichts.
Für mich persönlich war das Bett leider viel zu hart! Auch ein Topper hat bei mir nichts gebracht. Das ist aber reine Geschmackssache, das muss man dazu sagen.
This is a magnificent hotel. Everything about it was wonderful. The bed and pillows were a dream, the room’s layout, lighting, room scent…all of it was perfect. Their restaurant is rated as one of the best ones in Vienna. We had dinner there and it was probably the best dinner we had during our stay in Vienna. Breakfast was exceptional. Definitely a favorite. It was worth every penny.
