Son emplacement au centre ville
Rien
Prestigious and historic location. Superlative service by always smiling staff who cannot do enough for you.
Our room was luxuriously outfitted but not particularly large for the rates charged. Rooftop breakfast is opulent whether you take the buffet or a la carte. Swimming pool on 7th overlooks Lycabettus Hill is on the small side and can get pretty crowded.
Recommended.
Everything about the property is amazing. Location, staff, and the whole experience.
Leaving.
BEst hote, best location, best service, best of everything for the ultimate Athens experience.
Exceptional!
Nothing.
A stunning, luxury hotel in an extremely central part of Athens.
Tastefully decorated and well maintained rooms, with luxury amenities.
Breakfast on the 8th floor overlooking the Acropolis, was breathtaking. Breakfast was of a high quality.
The rooftop pool is a welcome retreat on a warm Athens summer afternoon.
Warm, professional staff.

The service, views, food and staff were brilliant
The spa was being renovated.
Location is in the centre
A bit old
Cigar lounge experience was awful. I went through 3 cigars that would not burn. Way too humid. On top of that expensive which I knew as it’s a high hotel. Lounge was very nice but bring your own cigars.
Hotel sits right in the action — steps from Parliament with its quirky guard-change ritual, an easy walk to the Acropolis, the Olympic Stadium, and a lively square packed with shops and restaurants. Great location.
Inside, it’s classic old‑school luxury: a bit aged in spots (carpets show their years) but clean, well kept, and supported by solid amenities. Titanium recognition was on point, staff were consistently warm and fluent in English — even the janitorial team. Fotis at reception stood out with helpful service and sharp humor.
The crowd is global, with plenty of security personnel around. The 8th‑floor restaurant delivers strong views at breakfast and dinner.
If the budget allows , central‑Athens pricing is what it is — this is a reliable Athens stay.
We stayed 3 nights after the cruise.
Overall: Amazing service, amazing food. Service was everything about this hotel.
Room:
We had a room facing the streets. Room decor was ok, beautiful draperies etc but closet wasn't functional. There's a shallow 2 closets with dressers etc but our big suitcase won't fit in. So if it's 3 nights stay, we didn't use any of the dressers and just lived off the suitcases. I was expected a lot more for the size of the room for the price we paid, so a bit disappointed.
Location:
Right in the center of the town, very close to shopping, Plaka, Acaporis (can walk from hotel). Very convenient.
Dining:
Breakfast at the rooftop was amazing. Beautiful views of Acropolis, city and it is worth a visit. Service was amazing. I am a tea drinker and tea was served properly which was great.
We also had dinner at the downstairs, which was great service and selection of meals. It is much quieter than the one from the town and we really enjoyed.
We also had dinner by the courtyard for Italian dinner. Food, service presentation was excellent. They put the net on the top of the courtyard so there was no birds, which was great idea. One thing was that it is located next to cigar bar and people are smoking outside: so we could smells the cigar while we were eating. So we had to cut short and left early.
Service:
Front desk, Housekeeping, amazing concierge, everything was perfection. I have stayed many of the nice hotels in the world, but this hotel service was one of the best.
Notes to the hotel:
We were staying in the hotel but we could not even have a chance to have dinner at the rooftop because it was full. We spent over $1000 for the small room and they do not even accommodate hotel guests for dinner at their restaurant would not make sense.
If it's just for the room, we could have stayed next hotel King George and save some money, that's what I thought.
My 10th stay at the Grande Bretagne
Never disappoints
Staff are exceptional
Staying at the Grande Bretagne was a highlight of our trip to Greece. It is an iconic property that perfectly captures timeless old-world luxury while providing top-tier modern comforts. From the moment we arrived, the Marriott Elite recognition was outstanding, including a fantastic room upgrade.
The culinary experiences were top-notch. Breakfast here is a major standout—enjoying a beautiful meal with the dramatic, sweeping view of the Acropolis and the city of Athens is something we will never forget. We also had great pizza at Il Giardino Segreto, which was a wonderful dinner highlight.
What truly elevates this hotel, however, is its people. The staff is exceptionally attentive. We would love to personally thank Elenne at the first-floor check-in, Demetria at suite check-in, and Lemprini for a seamless check-out. Fanis at the bell desk and the two concierges named George were incredibly helpful with our daily logistics. Lastly, a special shout-out to Polyxeni, Kostos, and Katarina at breakfast for their warm hospitality each morning.
If you are visiting Athens, this is the ultimate place to stay. We cannot wait to return.
