Staying at Lotus Honolulu was a great experience, starting with the friendly check in and throughout our stay. We took advantage of the complimentary beach chairs and towels for sitting out at the nearby quiet beach and enjoyed sitting on our balcony with gorgeous views of Diamond Head. We would highly recommend the hotel for anyone wanting to be by Waikiki, but in a more serene setting.
It was an amazing experience and will definitely come again! The staff were so kind and the quality was amazing !
I loved my stay here. The hotel is on the quieter end of Waikiki, which made it feel calm and relaxing while still being very walkable to the beach, restaurants, and shops.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and my room was beautiful, clean, and had amazing views. It was the perfect place to unwind after a day out.
I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful Waikiki stay with great service and location.
We had a corner ocean view room, room 925. The view from the room was disappointing but from the balcony was good. The room was clean and comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was great. It was on the quiet end so we had to walk a ways to get to restaurant choices and shopping but there was a small market next door that had some things. It was a bit tricky to find because the sign wasn't lit up at night when we arrived. I would stay here again.
Friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable room with nice amenities. Beautiful views of Waikiki and Diamond Head. We recommend a walk on the beach at sunrise with coffee and pastries from Kaimana Coffee nearby. My wife loved their gluten-free muffin. Nice walk through the park and along the beach to the Waikiki Beach area.
The location of the Lotus made it easy to enjoy the beautiful beaches without the huge crowds of the nearby Waikiki area. The casual Barefoot Beach Cafe was only a short walk from the hotel and it offered great food and beachside dining.
Our stay was absolutely incredible. The atmosphere was amazing—so romantic and exactly what I was looking for. From the moment we arrived, everything felt special and thoughtfully designed for a relaxing getaway.
Ella, Katu, and Nikki were all so warm and attentive. They went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed and truly made the experience even more enjoyable.
The save ice activity was such a fun and refreshing experience, definitely a highlight of our trip! We also rented bikes, which turned out to be one of our favorite parts of the stay. We took a beautiful morning ride around the park, headed to breakfast on the beach, and even discovered a few hidden beaches along the way. It was absolutely perfect.
We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and can’t wait to come back!
We had such a great stay at the Lotus Honolulu at Diamond Head. What I love most about this hotel is the location. It is tucked into a quiet, beautiful area away from all the chaos of Waikiki, but still close enough if you want to head into the action.
The staff were consistently warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely kind and helpful, which made the whole experience feel easy and relaxed.
The rooms were comfortable, the setting near Diamond Head is gorgeous, and the overall vibe is calm and low key in the best way. If you want the beauty of Honolulu without the crowds and noise, this place is a gem. I would absolutely stay here again.
We had a huge, wonderfully comfortable room with an oversized bathroom and a seriously powerful shower—always a small luxury that makes a big difference. Our corner room near the top floor offered views of Diamond Head and the water, which felt like a private postcard every morning.
The gym alone is worth mentioning: beautifully equipped with a full range of Keiser weight machines—truly top of the line and a rare find in a hotel fitness center.
Tucked away from the bustle of Waikiki, this hotel feels like an underappreciated gem—peaceful, and polished. Don't hesitate to stay here.
Great accommodations, great location. Views of Diamondhead from our balcony and the ocean( right out our “backdoor”. Views from front door … shoreline view all the way to the Royal Hawaiian hotel. None of the hustle bustle up Waikiki, but within walking distance. Clean rooms and quick response from housekeeping on a request for extra towels. Great amenities!
Beach accessibility
Only one elevator in while hotel
We loved the Lotus! We parked on the property and it was worth the fee to us because we could literally park right outside the door under the canopy. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Room was clean and refreshed daily. We had a corner room and the double view was amazing! We didn’t eat at the restaurant so cannot comment on that. The beach is very close but it’s a very small section behind another restaurant so we didn’t utilize that area. It’s close enough to walk to the bustling Waikiki beach and all the food and shopping, but far enough away to be nice and quiet at night. We heard nothing but birds, wind and chickens.. lol. Overall an amazing stay!
Away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki this place is beautiful peaceful and serene. Minutes walk to the beach and there was a monk seal sunbathing bathing. A great restaurant in the hotel and a convenience store around the corner. Minutes walk to barefoot beach cafe another good food spot. Beautiful walks along beach or park and over to the ocean diamond head lookouts to watch for whales in the winter. Friendly staff and very easy check in and check out process. I will definitely come back again
We have been visiting Hawaii for over 25 years, at least once per year. We have stayed in hotels, condos, Airbnbs, and the Lotus is our favorite place to stay. A lot has to do with the location - the quiet end of Waikiki, yet within walking distance to the busier areas. There are world-class views of Diamond Head from every room, some ocean views, and looking out from the walkway to the elevators as the big hotels down the beach is also a memorable view. The value is much, much better than those huge chain hotels, too. Plus, now that the Arden Restaurant has opened, there is less need to venture out again for dinner. We just wish the restaurant was open every day of the week.
Nice facility with everything you need. With a restaurant beach access and a games room that will pass an evening with entertainment.
This was our first time to Hawaii. We enjoyed our stay at Lotus. Our room opened right up to DiamondHead. It was a cool view. Short walk to the beach. The bicycles were awesome. We borrowed them and biked all over Honolulu. They provide a bike lock to use. The water bottles in the room to use were great and the water refill station in the lobby was ice cold and refreshing. We rented the HUI car in the parking lot for a day and that was super convenient. I wanted to spend more time at the beach but did not have time so we did not use the beach chairs available. We spent each evening at the bar of the restaurant. Each guest gets a complimentary glass of wine each night which was nice and usually led to another before dinner. The staff at the hotel and restaurant were very friendly. The laundry room was awesome and was no charge. Right next door to the hotel was a little convenience store that had everything you could need. The coffee shop next door was good. Pricey but good. Speaking of coffee...Lotus needs some kind of coffee in the morning. There are tiny espresso machines in the room but I would have killed for a real pot of coffee somewhere. Many conversations in the lobby were had with other people searching for some good drip coffee. We did not have time to enjoy the game room but it looked like a good time. Overall the location was quite a ways from the action on Waikiki but it was easy enough to walk or bike in. It was quiet and we enjoyed the King bed and room. Bath robes and slippers were excellent.
Always enjoy staying at the Lotus. Its location is towards the end of Kapiolani park. The rooms all have a lanai facing Diamond Head and the ocean. Under new management since our last stay in 22 and they were cordial and friendly. Our room was great and daily service was excellent. We enjoyed happy hour and dinner at Arden. Only wish that the lounge could stay open a little longer. It was a great stay and will return again on our next visit.
The staff is a younger group and could use some training in empathy. Some seemed to strain to be friendly. The rooms were clean, average decor hard flooring. They did provide a very some refrigerator, a coffee maker with nice coffee. We however, couldn't get the safe to work, we were give two double beds for a married couple so, double check your configuration upon check in. We did NOT get the cookie bag which other in our group received which was disheartening. Also, the room we had, had a very airy connecting door to the room next door and you could hear every cough and the sex making activity they had which was a big deterrent. Ugg! I personally will look for another close hotel in the area when I return. Upon, check in, ask questions ie connecting doors, bed configuration, cookie bag
I’ve been staying here for a few years now and I love the location first and foremost. Just east of the airport Waikiki mayhem, this little gem sits across from Kapiolani park in the shadow of Diamond Head.
The rooms are decent and well stocked with towels, AC, coffee maker , microwave, safe, mini fridge and cable tv. Every room has a view of Diamond head and partial ocean views.
Only issue I’ve had was the parking fee which they waive if you’re a consistent visitor.
All in all, I’ll be back happily
Perfection. This property was perfect for our last few days visiting the Islands. We hiked Diamond Head, snorkeled, borrowed bikes to eat brunch at a favorite local restaurant, and enjoyed all of the amenities. We took advantage of the beach towels and beach chairs from the front desk. The in-room espresso makers and reusable water bottles were a lovely perk. We even played in the game room!
Our room was clean and very comfortable. We loved the huge sliding doors that led to the balcony. Speaking of the balcony; what a view! We had a view of the ocean and of Diamond Head!
