We had a wonderful stay at The Russell for a little Nashville getaway. The hotel itself is beautiful and fun, with great attention to detail. The East Nashville location is walkable to tons of excellent restaurants, shops, and nightlife, keeping us blissfully away from the tourist chaos of Broadway and downtown.
The Russell was the meeting point for a wedding. Wedding guests congregated in the beautiful lobby, whether they were staying there or not, although many were, so it was a home away from home for all of us. The couple added to the bright colors in the lobby with colorful flowers, so it was magical. Our room was charming, with a view of the back garden, and an old-fashioned fireplace. The ceilings make the rooms and bathrooms incredibly spacious. We stayed an extra day after the wedding because we were so happy to be there, within walking distance of many great restaurants and diversions. The proprietors were readily available to answer questions by phone and text at all times.

Place was very cool. But bookings a sky light room, you expecte the sky light to look out side like the rest. Not the interior ceiling of the church.
We LOVED this hotel! Sometimes I'm a little weary of a hotel with no staff on site, but don't let that stop you. They were very communicative and responsive from the time we booked to the time we checked out. There were some great things about The Russell: Dyson hair dryer, extra towels already in the room (no room cleaning until check out, which we like), in room and digital guest information, which we used and found super helpful! lovely coffee and tea area in the lobby, luggage storage in case you need to drop your bags before check in or leave in storage upon check out and you still have lots of time before you leave town, and the robes were great!! And they give you a complimentary snack basket. Clearly, I thought this hotel outstanding.
It would be nice to have at least one employee on site. The rooms are very small with little counter space, but some good amenities, such as a refrigerator, are provided. Just having Roku streaming isn’t a good television situation. Since there’s no elevator, taking a large suitcase there is a hassle. Although I didn’t need the ADA entrance for a wheelchair, it was nice to discover it after a day or so, so that I could use it upon checkout for my suitcase, as the front steps are not friendly to wheeled suitcases. The offstreet parking is a good convenience.
We loved our one night stay at The Russell. Beautiful neighborhood and we were able to walk to dinner and then our show at Basement East. Complimentary snacks and waters!! Dyson hair dryer! Easy checkin and great communication. Recommend!
The Wife and I enjoy a Nashville getaway at the Historic Russell Building. It was very clean and well equipped with Everything we needed.

We followed music trails in Memphis and Nashville-our stay at the Russell could not have been more pleasant.
Nice accommodations, high end toiletries, coffee bar in the lobby and cool music greeting us as we returned from outings were all exceptional. Donating a portion of the proceeds to help Nashville people in need was an added bonus!

Super cool converted church - great East Nashville location. Comfy bed and great hot shower. No checkin desk or staff per se on site but everything super easy and user friendly. Remote check in - key codes emailed for entry. Felt very safe. Very clean. Hope to stay again.
Excellent value. Nice area. Comfortable room. Great communication with management. Quiet and beautiful room with high quality amenities. Included parking is absolutely amazing, considering the options available in the city. Would love to stay here again.

The Russell was beautiful, clean, they had complimentary snacks and water, I appreciated the Dyson hairdryer (fabulous for thick hair). The bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend staying here. Nice historic neighborhood, quiet.
This is a high quality hotel in an esthetically pleasing space with a slightly unconventional check in and out protocol that I found superior to the norm. I loved how easy it was to get settled in my room. The room was well appointed, clean, comfortable, and spacious. Parking was convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and I will make it a point to stay here next time I'm in Nashville.
