Good but room for improvement.
Pros:

The staff were friendly and helpful although they did seem to be a little stressed as there were not enough. The food was good but the menu was very limited. One of our party had allergies and could not have been better looked after especially by Alison and Patrick, the chef. Sue, our waitress at breakfast, was lovely, friendly and smiling.

Cons:

The carpets everywhere were spotted and could do with cleaning. The loose covers on the sofas were terrible, they did not fit and gave an overall feeling of lack of care and attention as well as being grubby. Sadly, overall, the hotel appeared dated and unkept.

One night stay whilst on a bike ride
Pros:

Convenient for Leeds Castle
Good breakfast (ours was included in the tariff - so I don't have a view on whether it was value for money)
They were able to store our ebikes

Cons:

The room and corridors were all a bit tired
Pillows not the best - one was very hard
Our room was very warm - with no way to turn it down
When we arrived (on our bikes) the lady at reception initially said there was nowhere to store our bikes - even though I had a message on booking.com from the hotel confirming that they would be able to store them. They sorted it out in the end though
We got quite excited by a notice in the lift saying that the day we were staying was a cocktail day - but when I tried to order one at the bar the lad behind the bar looked like a rabbit in the headlights - and no, they didn't have the ingredients to be able to make the cocktail
Food is not cheap - and neither are drinks - beer at £7 a pint
