Astoria Hotel

Basically this hotel should be given 1 or 2 stars not 3: it is extremely dated, "tired", poorly furnished, ugly, dingy, and the web site is a total fabrication: The pictures shows a well-lit reception and a cozy lounge in a big space. It is certainly not what you get as everything is dark, small and there is no restaurant, no bar, no laundry service, no proper lounge to relax with friends. Just 2 old sofas and a vending machine from where you can buy some beers and crisps. It looks more like a boarding house than a hotel.
In our bedroom, some lights were broken, our twin mattresses were noisy, lumpy and uncomfortable and the pillows were terrible, also lumpy and shapeless. The shower had no proper pressure and had a very unhygienic curtain instead of a proper screen. You are given 3 towels for 2 people, not 4 and they are very thin and quite worn. The staff is indifferent and not very helpful. The breakfast is more or less adequate but the fruit salad was stale i.e. not made on the day as was some of the bread To top it all up, the price is outrageous for what is really a very poor hotel. The only positive point is that it is well situated, near the station but there are plenty of other hotels nearby so AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!

Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom could do with updating though

It's a nice hotel but could be much better with small fixes. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good value.The rooms are spacious, tea and coffee supplied..
The negative things - The matrases needs replacing. I knew in advance as it was mentioned many times in the comments.
The mould around the bath could be cleaned with bleach or replaced Would givea much better impression of cleanliness.

staying now in astoria antwerpen. Somthing i never heard till now. In the rating can give minus if there was an option ,Yesterday (23 july 2025) came in the room my air-conditioned not working mosquitos biting. So called the reception they told me i cannot call the technician cause its after 21:00 so gave me a table fan, asked them to fix next day. 24th july Today same thing ,air-conditioning still not working. So asked the reception again , she gave an amazing answer. "I was not there yesterday so i dont know, sorry cant help you". Plus u are asking me late so i cannot do anything .i am here on business so it was my mistake i came late ha ha ha) finally sleeping now with fan. And you gave a 3 stars to this hotel. Why did you propose this hotel. I will never book here again

Cleanliness would have been better, Belgium flag on the hotel ripped off and very dirty , looks like no one cares

Very tired facilities, especially the air conditioning meaning the rooms were unbearable. On a positive note, the breakfast was half-decent, and it is in a good location for the train station, but overall very little to recommend unfortunately. Probably the first time I've rated anywhere 1 star but had to be. Sorry.

All really good. Good price, well kept room, friendly staff.

A great hotel, friendly staff. Location was spot of for the coty, easy walkable to main historic area. Breakfast room huge and everything usual available. Nice spread. Car park very secure (we were on a motorbike, so a requirement) Lifts to all floors even from garage.

Front revolving door was completely shattered, bad neighbourhood, mattess was filthy

Breakfast buffet is very limited variety and nothing grand but ok if you love cold meats, cereal etc. - coffee was lovely.

I honestly can’t understand how this hotel has a 3.9 rating on TripAdvisor. It was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. There was absolutely no service: the staff were consistently arrogant and rude, as if doing the bare minimum was a favor rather than their job.

The air conditioning didn’t work, and no one made any effort to fix it. Every day they messed up the towels—either forgetting them or leaving too few. On top of that, the room wasn’t cleaned properly, and one day it wasn’t cleaned at all.

The level of disorganization and the complete lack of care for guests make this place a hotel to avoid at all costs. It’s not even worth one star. I truly don’t understand how it’s still operating with such an inflated reputation. Strongly recommend staying away from this hotel.

Good stay

Comfortable rooms with modern amenities and friendly staff who were always helpful. The location was great, walkable and right near the heart of the city.

This hotel was a stones throw away from Antwerp station. Very close to all the sites and easy to get around the city. They offer a good continental breakfast.
I found the hotel could do with a bit of freshen up. A little refurb here and there is needed.

A nice and comfortable hotel to stay in. The staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating. The rooms are clean, tidy and equipped with the amenities you need. Location is great and quiet. Good for family vacation and staycation. The comfort rooms are clean like in a five star hotel. A nice reception area.

I had a serious problem on arrival with the room. The two lovely ladies sorted out the problem a few days later
