Hôtel Bar Restaurant L'Escale

Really comfortable and affordable overnight stay in Bergerac. Great experience all round from easy checkin, a little help from the friendly bar owner with our poor understanding of French and comfortable room. We were travelling by motorcycle and were able to tuck the bike safely to the side of the hotel entrance. There’s a spacious safe public car park opposite if travelling by car. A bit of a walk to the riverside from the hotel but defiantly worth the effort to see.

Couldn’t have picked a better hotel to stay in for a few days, Mica was amazing! Even though we did speak a little French, he helped us feel at home with his little (enough) english, we had a great laugh with himself and his chef, she was lovely too! Her food was AMAZING! The steaks we had on our first night were out of this world! I don’t usually like carbonara, we had this as our last meal there and it was demolished! The hotel was lovely and the beds very comfy! Was a lovely touch being able to see the Notre Dame from our window! Really made our stay special! Thank you Mica and your wonderful team!

Lovely French couple, excellent English, sense of humour, so helpful, arranged taxi to airport and much more.à Great food, good coffee, good value.. Room basic and clean. Thank you, memorable stay. Btw Staircase could do with light at the top.

This hotel is run by friendly, kind and hard-working people. We arrived in Bergerac without anywhere to stay and went to the bar across the road from the station. The bar-tender was busy but he found time to talk to us and found us a room for the night.

The room was air-conditioned and clean, with a powerful shower. The bed had a fabulously comfortable mattress. Breakfast was tasty and reasonably priced and, when we arrived late, after the meal service was finished, the bar-tender made us a good, honest baguette sandwich.

It felt like these people really wanted to make their guests feel welcome, and meet their needs with kindness not just for business.

Positif, personnel à l'écoute. Brasserie de l'hôtel bien pratique le soir. Face à la gare. À quelques pas de l'hôpital. À recommander.

Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen und durften bereits eine Stunde vor der Check-In-Zeit das Zimmer beziehen. Des Weiteren haben wir ein größeres Zimmer als gebucht erhalten. Das Zimmer war sauber und hübsch eingerichtet, jedoch auch etwas feucht. Nach zwei Übernachtungen waren die Kleidungsstücke klamm. Das Hotel liegt direkt am Bahnhof, in die Altstadt sind es ca. 900 m zu Fuß. Obwohl das Frühstück für zwei Nächte laut Buchung über Ebookers im Preis inklusive hätte sein sollen, gab es kein Frühstück bzw. nur gegen zusätzliche Bezahlung.

We were looking for somewhere to have lunch being a little bit late and trying to avoid the crowds in Bergerac. We had parked near the railway station and stumbled across this place right opposite

We had an excellent Caesar salad and a beer. Good service, both in French and English
