Had a great few nights at the Encore to finish off our trip to Boston.
Check-in was very efficient and the receptionist was very helpful and friendly. We had an upgrade (pre confirmed via our advisor)to their one bed suite on the 23rd floor with a view of the harbour (a power station with the Boston skyline in the distance).
The suite was amazing although had the usual issues with the aircon. Water pressure in the shower was immense!
Really enjoyed the casino.. very Vegas! Although drinks at the tables were rare.
Ate at Shake Shack (which was DIRE!) and Red8 which was very nice. Breakfast was in room dining which was very good and efficient.
In general service levels were excellent throughout the resort.
Only point is that there is nothing else in the area, but Ubers into town are relatively cheap at c$15-20.
Overall a great suite and great stay!
This hotel is clean and beautiful- the rooms are spacious and the amenities are well given! I love the Amazon Alexa controlled room. The elevators are fast and there are many so no long waiting to get from floor to floor.
Now for the cons- I stayed here for two nights with my husband and toddler. When I booked the room, it was booked under my name only- something that I usually do for any hotel I go to. My husband went down to buy cookies for our toddler. The cashier in the drugstore has no personality. Not a friendly hello, nothing. Just a blank stare. Now onto the elevators- you need your keycard to get to your floor. My husband forgot his in the room where I was with my sleeping toddler. He goes to front desk to get another key card- something we’re usually able to do easily at other hotels. They asked for his ID and told him he’s not on the guest list and he can’t get a card. He explained that he left his card in the room and I’m up there with our child at the moment. Front desk continued to say there is nothing they can do. He asked if security can take him up, but that too was told no. Only thing was for me to go down and get him. How can I when I have a sleeping child in the room?
Finally, front desk said I need to add his name to the booking. My issue here is, front desk kept saying it’s their policy and they can’t let him up, which is fine but what they never did was walk thru to a resolution. They never offered a solution right off the bat, instead let it get to a point of frustration where my husband was the only one grasping at straws on how to get back to his room. This was utterly ridiculous and uncalled for. I will never return here just because of that experience. It almost makes you feel like if you have any emergency or issue here, no one will help. What if I was in an emergency and I needed my husband to return to the room right away? Good luck. What I would have done as a front desk person is explain its policy, but here is what can be done.. and offer a solution. Alas I had to call and add his name and he got a card. Why couldn’t that be explained from the start?
Other cons - very expensive. There is no fridge in the room (or microwave). There is a mini bar and snacks, but if you touch anything for more than 30 seconds you automatically get charged for it. They provide free Nespresso coffee in room and water, but no tea bags.
Pros- guest services, housekeeping and room service staff were awesome. Pleasant, friendly. Has emotional intelligence and delivered quickly. Room service will cost you $5 on top of the already expensive menu but the food was good. Hotel has quite a few restaurants but only one is open during the day.
Parking is free whether you valet or self park. Self park is a bit confusing.
Overall, property is great, clean, upheld and spacious. Front desk and drugstore customer service sucks big time and I won’t return after this experience. Shoutout to concierge, food staff and guest services (Brenda)
I reserved two rooms with my platinum AMEX through the AMEX portal. We had a great stay, enjoyed the awesome room upgrade, casino, restaurant, bars etc. The problem came after. I am trying to get a copy of my invoice so I can see the room charges as there are multiple charges on my AMEX account. I want to make sure that the platinum AMEX benefits were correctly applied. I called, was transferred to reservations, sat on hold for 15 minutes. I pressed the hold key on my iPhone so I didn't have to listen to the inane messages. I saw that reservations had picked up, I hit pick up and they hung up on me. While I was on hold I sent an email to guest services. I haven't heard back. I just called the main number back and there is not one person who can help right now. I either have to go back to sitting on hold at reservations or pray that someone actually calls me back. If someone calls me back, there is no promise that I will not then sit on hold again if I am not immediately available for their call. This is horrendous customer service. It shouldn't take over 30 minutes to get a copy of room charges. This should be a 5 minute task. It would be even better if my final room bills were just automatically emailed to me. In the Year of Our Lord 2025, this should be an automated process that doesn't waste my time or an Encore employee's time.
Hands down this is a 10/10 hotel and casino. Anyone who isn’t giving this a perfect score is clearly upset they loss money or something so minor they’re trying to find an issue. We started our stay at encore before going to Peabody for Salem and this hotel was so nice and amazing I wanted to cancel my Peabody hotel and drive farther by stayin at encore. The room, staff to the casino parking lot I mean everything was so clean and high quality. There was 1 issue I had and it was user error because the signs in the parking lot aren’t very great with hotel check in vs casino but I wouldn’t even knock the hotel for this. We actually went back one night after Salem for dinner at fratelli and it was amazing service and food. Is it pricey yes, is it worth it, yes. Hands down if I come back to Boston I’m staying at encore because of everything they have to offer inside the room to outside the room
Stayed along with hubby two nights to attend a conference. Hubby worked remote. Beautifully constructed moneymaking venture where you are programmed to pay.
Location: away from public transport and in a heavy traffic area. It took 30+ minutes to cross last mile. A little complicated to navigate. Facing water but No restaurants at walking distance except Costco. Hotel designed for tourists to spend $$ internally
Check in: unless you valet ($$) you cannot arrive at the main entrance in your car. We’re told to park for free in the garage and then come up to checkin. my first such experience at any hotel and I have been traveling 25 years. Checkin line wasn’t that long but in spite of 3 check in personnel, lines wouldn’t move. Took 45 minutes. No place to sit so I almost fainted while waiting after a long day of driving with no one explaining why we waited that long. Staff was courteous at the counter. Guests in line were furious.
Rooms: beautiful and best designed ever. Lovely view, huge rooms and we got discounted rate for the conference as I wouldn’t splurge at Wynn. I would go to a nicer location in Boston. Bathroom was huge, luxurious with high end amenities. All little stuff you might want or need. But there was no bathrobe even though there were slippers. Hum! Bed was comfortable and all lights and curtains along with TV and alarm were centrally controlled so convenient. Coffee was yummy and there were free water bottles. No in room refrigerator but we found out later that we can call one in. I guess again hotel wants people to use mini bar instead of waiting for a refrigerator. View was so beautiful
Temp control: thick comforter but room felt warm so I used my little travel fan to sleep.
Business center: turned out you have to pay for use >15 minutes. $$
Places to eat: given the isolation of the area from public transport one is forced to eat at the hotel and it is pricy $$. So I drove to nearby restaurants.
Interestingly there were no places to sit around lobby or at the hotel to force people to pay at the coffee shop or a bar to sit. $$
No late checkout available. Even a minute late was $200. Ouch. At least there should be courtesy extension for all the hardship we endured.
Never going back unless forced to.
I booked this hotel because we were arriving after a 15 hour flight from Japan & arrived in Boston too late to continue on to Martha’s Vineyard, plus I wanted a massage in the morning before checking out. American Express offered a good rate, including $150 spa credit! When we arrived, we were taken aback by the “Las Vegas” vibes. However, EVERYONE we interacted with turned out to be friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating and great at their job. From Johnny who checked us in, to the wonderful Bellhop who brought our baggage, explained the room & got us ice, to Angel who was our server at breakfast, to the efficient & professional, bartenders at Rare steakhouse, to my wonderful masseuse Siobhan, everyone was outstanding. The room was large and comfortable and very clean, our view was lovely, and the bed was comfortable. Absolutely no complaints!
It initially throws you off if you are a fan of Las Vegas as you are navigating the downtown traffic of Boston and you look up to see the familiar sire of the Las Vegas strip, the Encore Casino and resort, only it’s in Boston Harbor. The two structures are twins. The casino floor is top notch and I’m pretty sure the red chandeliers hanging up were originally in the Las Vegas property years ago. The slots didn’t pay out well, or we just had really bad night playing them, and the fast food options were a bit of a let down, but it was nice to enjoy a bit of Las Vegas while we were on an east coast road trip. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the city.
Good place.
Everything about the Encore has gone way down hill. The rooms are without question beautiful. But all the fast food places have gone way down hill. Raw pizza. Bad service. Unable to keep up with customers. Closing the deck gives people no healthy food options during the day. Cleanliness of casino poor. And, before i used to walk out feeling pretty good with a few nice wins, they must of shut all the slot machines off.
Very nice stay
Awesome resort, rooms are spacious and super clean, highly recommended
Wonderful room!
Awsome
Sumptuous , opulent room with wonderful bed, powerful shower, bathroom the size of most hotel rooms. Beautiful view of the water and downtown Boston.
Beautiful decor. Lots of ammenities. Friendly staff.
terrible organization, they are charging for things I didn't ingest at the hotel
Fabulous clean room with a large comfy bed and great coffee machine. iPad and Alexa to work the tv, lights and curtains although couldn’t always get it to work. Large floor to ceiling window with a good view.
Quite a queue at check in but staff were polite and helpful.
Didn’t really go for the casino but did wander around and didn’t have a clue how it all worked!
Convenient, free bus runs regular to Chinatown in Boston which is really handy.
Wonderful hotel
Stunning hotel. Everything was perfection.
Check in staff was amazing
