Not be able to book for food
Stunning setting, amazing bed
Room was very dirty, food splatters all up the walls and skirting boards, very dusty, shower tray didn't drain so soaked the bathroom. If these where corrected would have been amazing, feel just a little tlc needed on the rooms as the main areas are amazing
All the staff were lovely and friendly.
The evening meals were very nice and restaurant staff really lovely.
There were few people in the restaurant whilst we were there.
The looped music was rather monotonous though, played repeatedly over and over again at breakfast and dinner.
We booked an upgraded room. The room and bathroom were nice and spacious. Bath and shower.
However, there was no safe in the room. No fridge and not even a bottle of water.
No bathrobes or slippers.
On attempting to fill the washbasin, the plug would not work and came apart in my husbands hands.
We asked about all these at reception and the lovely receptionist took the plug and said she would sort that.
Safes had become troublesome and were now all removed.
We had to improvise using a shaving foam tub until this was replaced the following day.
Lighting in the room and bathroom was nicely subdued but there was no extra lights for reading or using the bathroom mirror .
The second day we were out until around 4.30pm. We placed the please service our room on the door. Our room had not been serviced. Therefore we had no milk, tea or coffee, clean towels, beds not made. We had to speak to reception yet again and a member of staff came quickly and just provided teas milk coffee and a clean towel for us. On walking to the bathroom in bare feet there was a large wet area on the carpet by the door. Looking at the wall there were damp marks up the wall. The reception did come to replace the plug and she was shown all this and said she would action.
The following day we were out all day and returned to our room about 3.45pm to find
the room had not been serviced yet again! Again tea, coffee and milk were provided. We were checking out the following morning and this meant our 3 night/4 days stay we had not had our beds made, bins emptied etc.
We had booked the hotel as we wanted to use the Spa and Gym and on the first day we found the Jacuzzi out of order and not in use!
On my return to the changing room i could not access my locker and had to go out to reception wrapped in my towel to get assistance. Other ladies told me this was always happening The member of staff confirmed this to me and said he spent a lot of his time accessing the lockers for people!
Our second stay. Booked a superior double which was huge and warm with a big bed, settee, bath with shower over. Wasn’t bothered about reviews as we stayed here in 2023 and it suits us for our trips to Chester. We leave our car in the car park and catch the bus at the end of the drive straight into Chester 5 mins. Buffet breakfast is good especially the hot buffet. Don’t eat in hotel as prefer to eat in Chester or carvery at pub just down the road. We always use the pool and steam room and both times it was clean and quiet although the pool was a bit cold this time. Staff are lovely, helpful and polite. We will be back.
Location and parking
Hot tub was broken
Add all the features I would expect from the type of building
The bathroom was cold when bought to the attention of management there was not many options apart to move to another room that was also had a cold bathroom there was a heater that didn't reach into the bathroom to make it warm so basically the answer was that’s that
Booked the Sunday snooze package for a night away for my partners birthday, this included Dinner, bed and breakfast with a bottle of wine and £25 PP dinner allowance. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised how stunning the outside of the hotel was. Greeted at reception with a warm welcome, checked in and paid for the room, made me chuckle how the receptionist tried to say we had "been upgraded" to a junior suite infact we actually booked a junior suite. Room was spacious, it was a bit dull and lifeless, the walls were quite grubby to. Bathroom was massive, nice bath, the shower could do with some maintenance as there is some mould around the bottom. The bathroom window was broke. As we were in a junior suite we expected robes and slippers but these were actually £20pp which is ridiculous. The toiletries I expected a lot more than "refill" bottles on the wall. The bed was an wooden frame which was quite high (short arse) the mattress was awfull, I kept rolling into the middle, I am currently suffering with siatica so this was not good for me, I did tell the receptionist this morning finger crossed the mattress gets changed before the next person check into the room (9) Food was nice but definatly over priced. Breakfast was a buffet (not a buffet girl) I ended up kiss having a coffee and toast, there seemed plenty of choice though. Nice hotel but I have stayed in better for less £.
The food was excellent, the staff professional and friendly. The room was spacious, clean and of a high standard. The bathroom had both a full size bath and a walk in shower with toiletries. I used the spa pool which was nice and warm before having our evening meal, thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would definitely go again.
Wasn't sure on how to turn on the heating in our room, it wasn't cold, but would have liked to be a little warmer. The lockers in the poolside changing rooms weren't easy to use, the instructions were in tiny writing and I'd left my glasses in my room.
The extra thought of the customer by adding 2 additional plug in heaters.
10am checkout
The rooms were comfy and spacious.
Staff were excellent at resolving an issue.
The room was heated with space heaters as the central heating didn't work and the hot water for the bath was lukewarm. We were not made aware of this issue at check in.
The young lad who checked us in was abrupt and unhelpful, however the gentleman (black short hair) we spoke to offered us another space heater and took our swimwear and towels to be dried.
Staff are incredibly kind, and wonderfully accommodating. Made a very special day even better. Couldn't say enough kind things. Rooms are brilliant, services offered are excellent.
I loved everything
The staff were outstanding, they made a fuss of our little boy and made our stay just that little bit better by doing the little things that make the difference and you can tell it's just the way the staff are it wasn't forced or anything they are generally nice people.
The breakfast could of been a little nicer if I was trying to be really fussy but iam a fussy Eater and a cook myself so maybe that's why I'm abit judgemental but my partner she loved and my little boy enjoyed it so I'm more than happy because they enjoyed it I would give the breakfast a 8/10 so more than acceptable I wouldn't hesitate to add the breakfast on our stay again it's definitely worth it.
