Pros
Super close to parks
Currently has the best entrance for hotel guests to California Adventure- I’ve heard this is going away in 2026. I liked this entrance better than the Grand Californian one.
Fun decor
Characters in the lobby
Fireworks viewing from pool /rec area
My family enjoyed the pin trading
Friendly staff
Cons
Pool area is small and closes early- no swimming after 8 pm
Hotel activities such as a drawing class are offered only once a week
Elevators are hard to get during busy times
The air conditioning doesn’t work well when you’re sleeping
This was our first time staying here, but we have stayed at both the other on site hotels. I enjoyed this hotel and would stay here again. If the onsite early entry goes away, I will stay close by at other hotels which I’ve also enjoyed.
Stayed four nights in Pixar Place while visiting Disney California Adventure Park and Disneyland Park.
The hotel is clean, modern, and has beautiful Pixar theming everywhere, including gorgeous pictures on the walls.
Check-in was swift and easy and staff were very helpful.
We had a family room with two double beds and a sofabed which was perfect. The bathroom is compact but modern and clean, with Disney products available to use. The beds had a really firm mattress which was incredibly comfortable.
As a Disney resort guest you get early access to the parks (park varies by day) and you can access DCA via the neighbouring Californian Hotel, or DLP via Downtown Disney.
I've read reviews that comment on the lifts, but we didn't ever have to wait more than a few minutes. There was often a member of staff there to assist guests on the ground floor.
We used the pool one morning and found it very pleasant. It isn't huge, but there is room for children to swim, plenty of loungers, and a splash area with cool water slide. Poolside service is also available via the cafe located just outside.
This is a great hotel and we would definitely return - highly recommended!
Room was ok
Checking in the front desk attendant was rude I took my nephews due to my mothers death trying to cheer them up as well they just graduated and the front desk women was rude and dissmissive 😭
Just returned from Pixar hotel last night after a three night stay with my son and two grandchildren.(6 and 17 years)
We had a great time. The hotel was lovely and the staff was very accommodating. We had two meals in the Maple Cafe and we all thought the food was great. It worked me (77 yrs) a 6 and 17 year old. Something for everyone. We enjoyed the graphics around the hotel and had a great view of the fireworks.
It's was a short walk to both parks. Would love to go again.
Casfx hotel is amazing place and good service like have good meeting rooms with flip chart note book projector and sonol
Super friendly and helpful
Extremely easy and quick
So cute, very clean
It was very clean in all areas (room, pool, lobby, etc)
Very convenient location with quick access to both parks
A little bit of noise could be heard from the other rooms but we use a white noise machine which helped
Amazing atmosphere for Pixar fans. Really enjoyed all the art, the store, the pool and the pop up mini golf
Presidentail suite with family was amazing! Room was outstanding, service in all venues were unbelievable. Great swimming area pool for kids. The meet and greets with the kids were awesome. Would recommend and would stay there again,.
Worst hotel - doesn’t feel like a Disney hotel at all. The pool is ridiculously small for the size of the hotel. The walls are paper thin, you can’t even have the tv on without next door hearing it, every conversation is heard from the next door rooms, sounds of crying babies will wake you up during the night. The reception staff were the most unfriendly I have experience. The wait times for the elevators was beyond crazy, over 30 minute wait each day of our stay. The exclusive Pixar place entry to DCA was closed so the walk to the parks is long, you can stay at a non Disney motel for cheaper and it’s closer! The fireworks view (which is the pool deck) is open to the public so it’s not even exclusive to hotel guests. The whole place lacked any kind of Disney feel. Will never stay there again.
Worst hotel ever the pool is so small you can't even walk around in the pool when other people are in it. I would have to wait 20 minutes for the elevator and then it would be to full to take anyone else so I would have to wait another 20 minutes. I didn't complain while I was there but did after we left and the response i got was sho*t out of luck.
Booked this Disney hotel expecting a magical stay! Sadly it didn’t make the mark.
Check iin - room wasn’t ready on time even though we’d arrived 2 hours earlier and they knew we were waiting. Simply got told abruptly that 1 room was ready and we’d need to wait for the other. This was very frustrating as we’d arrived excited and enthusiastic to get going but also it was infuriating given the obscene amount of money they charge for a Disney hotel. They didn’t seem to care.
We used the secure store for luggage whilst we waited and decided to get our swimming stuff out of the cases so as not to waste any time. I was disgusted that my daughter was left struggling to get her heavy case on and off the trolley whilst staff stood watching.
Room was lovely and well themed with Disney characters and very clean. Lifts as we had read in reviews before staying were an absolute nightmare and very frustrating. They took forever!
Swimming pool was tiny full of screaming kids - I could not understand why it was so tiny and didn’t fit the size of the hotel.
No changing rooms I had to get changed in a toilet.
Too expensive to eat on site.
Lovely shop full of Disney items and we loved the short 6 minute walk into the park.
We are very much a Disney family and loved our stay last year at Disney Art of Animation in Florida so really disappointed not to be able to review this hotel positively and recommend it to others 😢 Didn’t feel magical in the slightest.
There were a number of issues during our stay. The elevators were very slow and the location was not as close to the parks as presented. But for our second stay at the hotel the water slide was closed down. They offered to take us to another Disney hotel but that was too inconvenient. We were there for 3 days, and the slide never opened and they could not tell us when they would open. Very disappointing.
This hotel was pretty nice. I would love to rate it high. But there were some issues. The room was amazing. However, the “smart” elevator system they use is a nightmare. You will spend forever waiting for an elevator. The system has no way of knowing how many people are loading. So it may have multiple floors selected but not everyone fits. Leaving you going through the whole process again. Many people are left just taking several flights of stairs. Next, the pool is small. It’s not even big enough to accommodate half the hotel. Took my kids down to the pool just to find that there’s only room for you to stand in the water. Forget swimming or playing around in the water because it’s too crowded.
Our family of 4 throughly enjoyed our stay at the Pixar Hotel in Disneyland California.
The gentleman, Rex, who checked us was exceptionally helpful, welcoming, and accommodating. He was very friendly and the attention to detail truly made us feel at home.
The room was fantastic- modern, spacious and clean, beds were comfortable, and a perfect place to relax after long days in the parks.
We also loved the hotel’s facilities. The access to Disney California Adventure park was very convenient and we enjoyed having early access to the park.
All of the staff members were friendly and helpful with tips regarding where to dine and instructions on how and when to access the parks. Our family throughly enjoyed our stay and we can’t wait to return!
Our stay was excellent, our room was very clean and updated, nice linens and towels. Everything was of high quality, as expected from the Disney brand. Walking distance was about 15 min from the main gate, A faster entrance to Ca Adventure with some restrictions. Monarail is close by also. Lovely pool area with activities going on at night. Will return again for sure.!!! Sad I had to leave....
The elevators were a nightmare, I was in a disability scooter, Staff actually took me to the freight elevators because I could not get into an elevator multiple times. In their defense they offered an apology and accomodation.
it was soooooooooooo fun the water park was amazing I went on the water slide so many times, it was that fun. My room was great. We got early entry, amazing. It so deserves 5 stars.
This hotel was perfect for us. I love how close it is to DCA and DL by going through the Grand California. The elevators were no issue at all and we were on the 10th floor! Check in staff is super friendly and bell services. Super clean hotel with perfect amount of Disney touches . I like how the Sketch pad is open early so you can grap something quick before heading to parks.
This hotel is 1000 times better than the Grand, which you can read about in my other review. The art/decor is absolutely incredible, it’s the cutest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Like everything else Pixar, every detail was mastered. From the food in the Great Maple, to the pianist that looks like he came right out of Soul (the movie), it was incredible. We stayed in a club level room, which gave us access to the Creator’s Club. They served breakfast, snacks and small bites through the day, for free. The fitness room was larger than most hotels and the Monsters Inc wall art was perfect. They had an indoor pop up mini golf, Putt Putt, but I think it’s only there for another month. That was a great way to spend the hot afternoon. The hotel room was perfect. Bed was comfy, shower was adjustable height, and the room was immaculate. The floors are wood, and they mop them when they service your room.
The secret entrance to DCA is my favorite, you enter the park right next to Corndog Castle. If you want to enter Disneyland, you can ride the Monorail into Tomorrowland.
The ONLY negative about this hotel is the elevator system. You select your floor from outside the elevator and it tells you which one to wait for, A,B,C or D. The system is flawed. I’m not sure if it’s by design or if it’s because children push multiple floors. You end up stopping on a lot of floors for no reason. Other guests also think they’re suppose to get in your elevator, but it’s going up and they’re going down. I think if they had a traditional elevator with the floor pad inside the car, it might be faster. We waited over 5 minutes once.
Amazing theming, staff so helpful, our family room was spacious, perfect location to enjoy the Disney Parks and Downtown Disney. Very clean and has a fantastic Disney vibe. This is the cheapest of the three Disney hotels but it was perfect for us.
Clean and convenient, though expensive. There aren’t enough elevators for the number of guests, and you will often wait quite a while for a ride down to the lobby.
We probably wouldn’t stay there again because this was such a constant annoyance
