From the moment we arrived, the Sheraton Addis exceeded expectations and stood out as one of the highlights of our trip.
The hotel is stunning, with elegant architecture, beautiful gardens and a peaceful atmosphere that feels like an oasis in the heart of Addis Ababa—an ideal place to unwind after exploring the city.
Dining was consistently excellent, offering a wide variety of fresh, beautifully presented and flavourful dishes throughout our stay.
What truly distinguishes the hotel is its staff. Every team member was warm, welcoming and professional, delivering genuine hospitality that made us feel valued from check-in to departure.
Our room was spacious, spotless and very comfortable. While some décor feels slightly dated compared with newer luxury hotels, everything is impeccably maintained and does not detract from the experience.
Overall, Sheraton Addis delivers a true five-star stay with outstanding service, excellent food and a luxurious, relaxing atmosphere. We would gladly return and highly recommend it to visitors to Addis Ababa.
A Rip-Off at a Five-Star Hotel
This is a warning to families visiting the hotel. If you're travelling with children and happen to forget a swimming suit or any pool accessory, be prepared to pay an outrageous price for extremely poor quality.
A few days ago, during the school holidays, I took my six-year-old son to enjoy the brief sunshine we get during the Ethiopian winter. Unfortunately, we realised that his swimming shorts had been left at home. I asked the poolside receptionist if there were any options available, and she kindly directed us to a display cabinet near the spa reception where swimming suits were on sale.
At first glance, the products looked decent. The price, however, was shocking. With no practical alternative, I reluctantly paid **Birr 7,000** for a pair of children's swimming shorts.
After only a couple of hours in the pool, the stitching began to come apart and the threads started unravelling. A product at that price should be be of excellent quality, especially when sold inside a five-star hotel.
Selling such poor-quality merchandise at such an inflated price is simply unacceptable. Whether the responsibility lies with the supplier or the hotel's management, the hotel ultimately chooses what it sells under its brand. Guests expect quality and value that reflect a five-star standard—not products that fall apart after a single use.
I hope the management reviews both its suppliers and its pricing policy so that other guests, particularly families, don't have the same disappointing experience.
كل شي
كل شي حلو
I vist during Muslim holidays the vibes is super and they have Indian nice food
El servicio muy amable y atento. Instalaciones algo viejas pero bien mantenidas
La seguridad cada vez al entrar es aborrecedor
The best hotel in Addis. Staying here is an experience.
Favourite part of the days for me was the breakfast at the terrace overlooking all of Addis
Staff is professionally trained
Some of the furniture and finishing is already a bit overused and needs renovation. Have to admit that quality of materials is of highest quality and standard, so old but gold
Staff was amazing
All is good
Cleanliness, extra service- we got an airport pick up even though we had not booked it. The gardens are amazing and the restaurants top notch. The room sizes are also very generous.
There was a problem with cable TV on our last night of stay - not very good timing in the middle of the world cup.
The executive lounge.
The fact that a selected breakfast cannot be transferred there.
The place looks like a palace and has beautiful scenery. The prices are fairly reasonable for such a luxurious spot. I highly recommend visiting if you're spending time in Ethiopia, whether you are traveling with friends or solo.
Very helpful staff.
Exceptional attention to detail and staff attentiveness!
Rooms are dated, equipment, like light switches next to bed very old and needs urgent upgrading.
