Check in was swift and efficient, lovely reception staff.
Room wasn't checked properly, found a pair of ear rings one of which I trod on , so room not cleaned thoroughly. Tea and coffee in room but nothing to drink it from, empty tissue box in container. These complaints were rectified by reception staff.
It was a last minute booking but we were very happy with the result, we will return to the hotel again very pleased with everything
Nothing
They upgraded our room so it was very nice.
No air conditioning
Only think which let it down was breakfast - very disorganised and kept running out of food and crockery.
We loved our room.
The breakfast was cold but I spoke to the staff, they heated the food.
No
Very quite as next to the golf club.
The charge for swimming daily, when it should be inclusive for people staying there
The bathroom was okay.
Everything! We booked through booking.com and had the money taken out and refunded 3 times before the money was finally taken from my account.
I was concerned and so I called customer services 2 times and was told it would be fine.
There were a huge amount of roadworks and diversions which looked like they had been ongoing for a while and we were not told. This delayed us by over an hour. When we got to the hotel, we were informed that the payment isn't showing on their system and despite me showing the payment coming out of my account, we were made to pay again. (I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE MONEY BACK!!)
We have 2 young kids who were tired, so we needed a room (which had been reserved for us somehow) and paid again. It was at this point we were told that dinner was no longer being served (at around 6.45pm) so we couldn't eat. I did kick up a bit of a fuss at this as we hadn't been informed of any time limit or requirement to pay. The manager called the restaurant who did agree to serve us, but only if we paid a huge amount for the dinner on top! The food was really poor and not worth the money at all.
The hotel was old and smelled bad, there was dust everywhere, and the bed was creaky and uncomfortable. I will never stay here again and would recommend everyone avoid at all costs.
Pool and spa facilities was good, a bit dated and in need of refurbishment but nice and clean
Refused first room we was offered ,last room at the top of hotel ,very hot ,smells musty ,looked dirty, big red wine stain as big as a dinner plate on carpet, shower over bath grubby and worn out.
The whole hotel needs a refurb as the second room offered was clean but still very dated.
Also charged extra for using swimming pool
Advert says hotel of excellence, I wouldn't describe it as that
Bare minimum
No fridge in the room
Outdated and confusing signage
Room telephone doesn’t work
Use to like alot the only thing now is dog friendly and local for work shame
Dog. Poop in room behind curtain was moved rooms asked for ground floor they could see been requested but hadn't allocated bit poor we have been using this hotel 6 years and seems to be going down hill up grade some rooms but still tired looking and half done
Convenient location to Southampton centre, lovely bar and restaurant area in evening, and lovely breakfast.
Extremely run down in areas, especially the swimming pool, it was quite dirty around the sunbeds in the pool area, with an extremely rusty bin which was a bit of an eye sore. Restaurant was lovely, but run out of a couple of meals from the limited menu which was a bit of a shame. Not much communication and info at the front desk about using the leisure facilities. Had quite a few messages from hotel before hand making sure we brought photographic ID otherwise we wouldn’t be able to stay. Not sure why they are hot on these messages, as we were not asked for these when we checked in. All in all I’d say great hotel for a bit of golf and a few drinks, but other than that I’d say your money would be better off spent elsewhere.
Superb. 😇
All of it.
The fact you had to pay for gym and swim.
Breakfast was ok. Food was not too bad. Dining room was dirty. Staff were grumpy, told only to sit at a table of two quite aggressively. Food debris on window sill, looked like day befores breakfast, sticky, dirty tables.
Bad smell throughout the hotel. Asked for a ground floor room when booking. Request ignored. The hike to the third floor is some distance through narrow corridors and really confusing. The lift diagram? Forget it. For too confusing. General attitude of staff was poor. Room was dirty stains on floor and bed. Couldn't open windows more than two inches due to being chained. Really. Poor quality tiny fan in Room. It was a scorching weekend. Not much in the way of tea and coffee. 2 sachets of each. Toilet dirty and bath had seen better days. Room dusty.
Lovely stop over on the way to the ferry port
Pillows were not the best
