Categories

Cleanliness
7
Many guests reported the hotel as clean or very clean, but there are isolated but significant negatives (reported cockroach, dingy rooms, chips in tub and floors feeling unclean) leading to a moderate score.
Service
8.8
Staff repeatedly praised (helpful front desk, specific praise for Julisa); consistent reports of friendly and responsive service justify a strong positive rating.
Location
8.2
Location is frequently cited as excellent for Legoland, beach and shopping; however proximity to the freeway causes notable noise issues for some rooms, so overall very good with a noise caveat.
Room Quality
6.8
Rooms vary: some are spacious and comfortable, others are dingy or have maintenance issues (bathroom fan not working, toilets problematic, AC not cooling sufficiently, room delays) resulting in a below-average room-quality score.
Amenities
7.2
Amenities include fridges, microwaves, free parking and on-site snacks/coffee at times; negatives include a small/noisy pool and inconsistent breakfast/coffee availability, producing a mixed but slightly above-average score.
Value for Money
8
Multiple guests described the property as an affordable/only viable option in the area and praised price relative to location, supporting a positive value rating.
Food and Beverage
6.8
Limited on-site F&B: several guests noted no breakfast or no in-room coffee maker, though nearby restaurant options were praised; overall F&B is below average due to inconsistency and limited offerings.
Overall Experience
8
Most guests reported a pleasant stay with helpful staff, good location and comfortable beds; small issues (noise, occasional cleanliness/maintenance) did not generally ruin stays, yielding a positive overall experience.

Good stay
Pros:

The front desk staff was very helpful and kind.

Cons:

We were on the 3rd floor, with open court yard where the accustic freeway traffic noice echoed through our front door. Was loud.

Will definitely be back again!
Pros:

The staff here is always so nice, we have stayed here twice now and will definitely be back whenever in the Carlsbad Area! Great location to the beach, LEGOLAND, and shopping.

Cons:

The toilets were a little scary to flush this time lol, we had to remember to hold the tab down for it to go down otherwise it would go up
