Should be no stars! Sort the reviews by lowest and see how many 1 stars they got with details. I can't even understand how they stay open? I know they are getting government money for military travelers. I've reported this place to the IG as fraud, waste, and abuse. So outdated and everything closed or broken. Management is extremely rude. The one particular, female manager wouldn't give her name but threatened to call the police on us if my wife didn't stop recording the interaction the last night. I booked room through Trivago. Receptionist gave us a lesser room because they are supposedly completely full. They blamed Trivago for booking a double room instead of a standard. They charged me extra taxes that they say are resort fees. Resort is laughable. We saw 4 people in the larger pool. No one in the other pool. Pool bar CLOSED. Substandard electrical work at the pool bar (see pictures). If you want pool towels you have to go all the way to the front desk. The railings in the pool are rusty and ugly. There's trash in the rocks lining the pool exterior. The weeds around the pool could stand to be trimmed. If I hadn't already paid the reservation through Trivago (whom I also distrust as they offer no help after calling and several emails) I would have left. The room is also unimpressive. TV signal is bad so the picture is fuzzy. The AC is loud. Sink and shower missing drain covers. Looks like mold on ceiling tiles. No water, no coffee, no clock. Nothing open. The management here fought me at every step. They wouldn't provide that nasty manager's name either. Wouldn't trust them. Ever again!
Terrible “Out of Service Hotel.” Poor service at the front desk. Room with no coffee machine or hair dryer. Out of service elevator and ice machine, DO NOT STAY here. A Motel 6 is better than this place! Worst hotel we have ever stayed at.
Beautidul property and staff. The resturant was a bit too expensive for what it was. They rescue animals and they are around peopertu. We ate mangos, atar fruit and others walking around. Pools are beautiful.
Pleasant stay at Fajardo inn. Staff extremely Friendly & Helpful. Clean, organized & we Felt Safe. Beautiful Pool Areas with water slide. Definitely will return. Thank You!
Location is far from good areas.... but is close to the rainforest
Room was clean and comfortable
Doors of the room
Friendly staff. Facility seems a little dated.
Perfect place friendly staff and close to good dining options
During our stay at the Fajardo Inn (May 3–6, 2025) we discovered mold inside both nightstands (see photos). I have asthma and coughed throughout the trip, once I saw the mold, I understood why. This is a serious HEALTH HAZARD that no hotel should expose guests to.
Once we saw the mold, we checked the bed more carefully and were horrified to find the mattress stained yellow with hairs on it. It was absolutely disgusting and made it clear that cleanliness is not a priority here.
The problems didn’t stop there. Our door key constantly stopped working, forcing us to walk a full 10 minutes each way to the front desk to get replacements, sometimes even in the middle of the night. This was both exhausting and unsafe.
The Wi-Fi did not work, there was no hair dryer, no instructions for the safe, and the lighting was unpleasant. Amenities were misleading: the pool bar was closed, and the only open restaurant was overpriced and served very low-quality food. Also, you’ll be eaten alive by the amount of mosquitoes in this place.
At the pool, staff searched our bags and told us we could not bring in our own water or anything at all. They even refused to let our friends bring water for their baby. The only way to have water was to buy it from the front desk that you have to walk around and up the hill. Never in my life have I been told I could not bring water to a pool. In the Puerto Rico heat, this is not just unreasonable, it is dangerous.
On the day before checkout, loud construction started right outside our room with no warning. It completely ruined our day when we were trying to relax. When we tried to get help, we were lied to repeatedly about where the manager was, and when I finally reached the acting manager by phone, she was dismissive and then hung up on me.
On our last day, we spoke directly with the manager, Mary Bell Lopez. She was rude and unprofessional, told us that since we booked through a third party it was not her problem, and then walked away without apologizing for the mold, the mattress, or anything else. Later, when Chase Travel (our booking platform) called multiple times for a refund, the hotel denied it and refused to answer their phones.
Between the mold, filthy mattress, broken keys, unsafe pool policies, construction noise, dishonest staff, and refusal to take accountability (especially by manager Mary Bell Lopez), this place is nothing short of a SCAM. We left feeling unsafe, disrespected, and cheated.
For over $200 a night, this was outrageous. I strongly urge travelers: avoid this hotel at all costs. Puerto Rico has far better, safer, and more honest places to stay.
Wonderful! Only issue was a rude entitled driver sitting behind my children honking like a rude NJ driver. He came in irritated asking for me to move my car so he couod drop off a passenger. I thought, oh he is dropping off a disabled person that needs dropped at the stairs a few steps from his car since mine was parked dirextly in front for check in. Nope, completely able bodied woman gets out!?!$@%* Mind blown w the sense of entitlment a lot of people habe now. Anyways, NOTHING BAD TO SAY ABOUT FAJARDO INN AT ALL!!!!!! I will book again whwn we return!
This hotel was not as advertised. One pool was open but all other amenities were closed. The room felt dirty, the lock on the door was broken, all of the furniture was about 1 foot away from all of the walls, and when I tried to plug in my phone charger the outlet (which was loose) sparked. I didn't feel safe or comfortable and left after 1 night instead of spending 2 nights as intended.
It was like Pueblo rustic, great staff and truly enhoyed the pools.
Everything
Not very pleasant. Once we checked in they charged us extra stating that you didn’t charge correct. The personnel were not very friendly.
Great !
Todo perfecto
Nice property
El acondicionador de aire hace mucho ruido. Había una cucaracha en el baño.
Hotel is really outdated. Room could be cleaner.
